As far as I can tell, there is no thread for this week. We just booked our trip.
Anyone else going?

David and Jennifer

Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone! We are also going on June 10th. I didn't see any other posts on this date, either.

We will also be on the June 10 Wonder 4 day for our first cruise. We'll be a group of 9, with DW, DS10, DS5, me, my parents, my sister, her DH, and their DS3. Anyone else out there? :)

I have just found these boards so bear with me as I figure this out...

We are sailing June 10, 2007 on the Wonder as well: Myself, DD (7) and DS (4) DH is currently serving in Iraq and will be unable to join us. Two of my sisters & their children DS 12, DD 10, DD 18, and DD 13 and DHs will be sailing along with our mom as well.

We are so excited. This is our first Disney experience of anykind!

My entire family of 14 is cruising on Jun 10th for a family vacation. We have a 6 kids ranging 2 to 11. My family has cruised before with Disney but no one else and we can't wait. Trying to design some fun shirts to wear when boarding so look out for us in Carolina Blue shirts! See you there!

By the way, my parents are a tad bit concerned that there won't be much to do for them. I didn't pay much attention to those types of activities when we cruised the first time so I hope they will be content.

My DFi and I are booked on the June 10th Wonder cruise as well. It will be the second leg of our honeymoon. We are doing 7 days at the MK staying at POR from the 3rd-10th. The cruise portion of our honeymoon is meant to be the relaxing stage, after the madness of 7 days at MK. It will be our first DCL cruise.

We are getting married on the 2nd of June and jetting away right away. Many times she has accused me of looking more forward to the honeymoon then the big day itself. I guess posting here is proof enough!

I wonder if there will be any other Canadians on the cruise?

I wouldn't worry about your parents. This will be the third time we have cruised with mine and they love it. I thought it would just be our immediate family this time, but my parents WANTED to go with us again. We just try to keep it simple and not stress out about what we are going to do. We won't do everything together, but that's okay. We are planning to do the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau and they are going to go to the Atlantis casino, for example. We will of course then meet up for dinner and the show. We actually had adjoining rooms last time, but this time we are a few rooms apart because the kids would knock on the door between us and wake Grandma and Grandpa up too early in the morning! We always wear Cardinal shirts when we board, so everyone knows where we are from, too!

Also, I noticed there are some new Disney cruisers posting on here. I am not an expert by any means, but if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask! I didn't know this existed when we cruised the first time and I wish I would have!

Glad to see there will be some others on the June 10 cruise. Based on this thread, it seems that it won't be very crowded!

MoSoccerMom, thanks for the offer of information. Can you tell me what the general schedule for the Oceaneer's Club and Lab is on embarkation day? What time do they open? Do they run normal activities that day, or do things not really get started until Monday? TIA :)

Okay, well, I know I said I could answer any questions, but we have never used the clubs! I have heard and read such great things about them, but my kids weren't really interested in going and that was fine with me. My husband works a lot so we decided our time on the cruise would be just "family" time. If we went with a bigger group like you, though, I would definitely consider it. I did do some research for you, and it looks like they are open, but they don't have activities until about the time dinner starts. They are open when you board the ship for "registration or confirmation" until the muster drill (4:00 or so) and then again after. It looks like the actual activities start at about 6:00 or so. I found this information on the www.castawayclub.com website, click on "navigators." The "Navigator" is what they call the paper that will be in your room each day that tells you what all of the activities are. If you haven't looked at this sight, it has a lot of good info on it! Hope this helps!

SPOILERS

I just got a list of the movies they'll be showing on the cruise.

Just pass over if you don't want to see..........

The Prestige
Bridge to Terabithia
Meet The Robinsons
Wild Hogs
Deja Vu
The Guardian
Prime Evil
Cars
Pirates: Dead Man's Chest

MoSoccerMom - Thanks for the helpful info. I'm familiar with the Navigators, but I guess I just didn't look closely enough to get the information I needed. Thanks for pointing it out!

Devourer - Thanks for the movie list. How were you able to get it this far in advance?

Hold on! Devourer, where did you get this list and are you sure it is for June? I will be so disappointed if they are not showing Pirates of the Caribbean "At World's End," the new one. I think it opens May 25th in regular theaters. We were planning on waiting so we could see it on the ship. I can't imagine they wouldn't be showing it. . .

Also, congratulations on your wedding/honeymoon! We will also be at WDW before, but only for 3 days. We did a land/sea package and are staying at the Polynesian. We stayed at POFQ a few years ago and liked it. We didn't make it over to the Riverside part, though. Having the boat transportation to Downtown Disney was great-you will like that!

Long story. I went to book Palo Dining on the DCL website and found out that only 2 seatings were still available. I was suprised, so I phoned DCL reservations to find out why. Turns out Palo is very busy for this cruise and that is all that is left. ANYWAYS... I had read on another thread on this site that if you call reservations and ask, they can tell you what movies are planned for the cruise, so while I had them on the phone I asked and jotted them down. I was also suprised to find out that it's not the new Pirates movie. I asked him twice to make sure it wasn't a mistake and he confirmed it was Dead Man's Chest. All I can say is I hope the customer service rep is wrong! I was hoping to see the new movie too. With the big push towards the wedding, there is no way we will get out to see it until we get back. :sad2:

Thank you! Essentially we choose the POR over the POFQ because of the quiet pools. We loved the quiet pools at the CS resort, they are great to dip in and out of for a quick cool off and most of the time they are never more then a 2 minute walk from your room, they are always empty of people, and you can sneak in and out even late at night. We will be at the Poly Wednesday night to see the Spirt of Aloha show. I have been around and through many of the resorts but I have never been to the Poly so I'm looking forward to seeing it. I have always thought of the 3 resorts around the lake as "THE" places to stay in Disney. I envy you. I would have loved to stay there, but Deluxe for 7 days would be just too far out of our price range right now.

I also think that they may not know exactly which ones will be showing this far out. I am planning to call the week before to ask again-hopefully it will be different!

We have never been to the Poly either. We have also never ridden the monorail, so we are excited about that. We are not going to the luau, but I do have reservations at the other two restaurants there, Kona and Ohana's. I just though it was too much to try and fit in the luau also with just 3 days.

We were not planning to go to Palo, but that is interesting that there are no reservations left. I believe the Disney Cruise website also shows no cabins available for this cruise date. It must be full, but they must all be people who haven't discovered these boards yet!

:cool1: I cannot believe we are going and now it is getting so close!! One of my friends told me about this site and I LOVE it! My DH, DS (15), DD(12), Dsis, her DH, and her DS(22) and myself are all going. It is all of our first time on a Cruise! We have been to Disney World before and are doing the Land and Sea option. We cannot wait and it all seems so overwhelming! Wish us luck and we hope to see the new Pirates movie too!pirate: I've never posted anything before so please bear with me. See you all in June!

We are doing the land and sea, too. I'm glad you found this site. I wish I had known about it when we went the first time. Have you posted any questions yet? All of the really experienced cruisers here are so helpful. Whatever the question, someone seems to have an answer!

I have posted a few questions but on other threads. I still am not sure what exactly I am doing but love reading all others trip reports and such. I will try posting a trip report myself when we get back but in the meantime this is great fun. My husband thinks I am crazy to always be on here and reading!

Would you believe that we started some initial packing over 2 months ago. My 4 nieces and nephews are going with us along with my 2 kids and I've been putting together some goodie bags for them with pirate eye patches, disney pens, swim goggles and all kinds of fun things to kick off the cruise. I'm making shirts for our group of 14 to wear as we board the ship too. It will be the first time I'm making my own shirt transfers but its been fun. I have a couple of door signs too that I'm going to switch out each day. I'm so ready for a vaction and a Disney Cruise is always the best way to spend my vacations. See you there....
