Here it goes.... This is only my 2nd post on this board, but have been reading it since December.

We just returned from our first cruise and first Disney experience. My DD (7) and DS (4) and I joined up with 2 siblings and their families and well as my mom. This was a gift to DD, DS and me as a get away while my husband is serving a 12 mos. tour in Iraq. He is not the cruise type so he wasn't really feeling left out.

Disney arranged all of our hotel and travel arrangements. We flew in from Nebraska to Orlando on Saturday and stayed at the Hyatt. We don't travel much and we were in awe at the whole Orlando Airport complex. I loved being able to go up the elevator check in and be at our room. We ate at the food court, swam a bit and turned in early.

The next morning we knew that the rest of our family who had flown down earlier to do Land and Sea wouldn't be getting to the port until later, so we decided to roam around the hotel a little before checking in with the Disney people. We checked in with them at 9:45 and by 10:15 we were loaded on the bus and at 10:30 we were on our way. I was very amazed and impressed at how smoothly everything flowed. Everywhere we went there were just seas of people and you'd brace yourself for a long wait, but everything moved along quickly.

We got to the port in about 45 minutes complete with a slow down over a river so we could see some alligators.

At the port there were maybe 1-2 people waiting at each of the check in stations. It was here that I encountered the only grumpy Disney employee of the whole trip. I learned 2 things with this lady. There is a signature sheet that when you register on line you were supposed to print and bring which I totally missed, and your passports have a place to sign in them. I did appreciate her gruff tone when she told by DS (4) to not play with those retractable belt things on the poles to mark the lines..(do they have a real name:rolleyes1 ?) I had already talked to him about it twice in the 5 minutes we had been there, but her tone beat my mommy tone with him.

...to be continued

First, I want to thank you and your family (especially your DH) for your sacrifice. We owe so much to our service men and women (and their families) for your unending sacrifices.

Now, very interested in hearing the rest of your trip report! Don't keep us waiting too long!:thumbsup2
