June 1, 2008 7-Night Mexican Riviera Cruise All Aboard is now back on Land

i am not sure how we are doing it......
But my last cruise we each brought a gift bag full of scrap book items to exchange.

i think i read soemthing about bring 5 take 5 so not exactly sure how they are working it.........

But it is a scrap book exchange and my last one was kind of a drink fest too!!!!

I am confused about the drill time too.
But i do know that we had our meet and greet on my last cruise at 3pm
and
we were with our group for about an hour
and then we went to the drill.

HOPEFULLY they have the times wrong.

WHEN are we meeting for PIRATE PICTURES?????
Will this be on your Navigator SANDY?????????????

party: :jumping1: Got my Docs today!:jumping1: party:

I am going to call for my ground transportation next week back to the airpot from the Magic and I am going to ask just to makse sure the docs were not printed wrong!:) You never know.

We got our docs yesterday and we're on the west coast of Canada!

I'm confused about the ground transportation too, so I'm also going to call just to make sure. I've got two ways booked:resort to port to resort, but the wording on the docs isn't very clear.

I can't see how they can do a drill before everyone is on the boat. That has to be a mistake! Usually the drill is at 4 p.m.

How about meeting at 3:30 if the drill is at 3:00? It only takes about half-hour for the drill and then we have at least 45 minutes before the sailaway.

Everything is a bit earlier than my previous cruises.

HEY! Does anyone know if they'll be showing Prince Caspian? I really, really hope so!

The Pirate group pictures are at 7:30 on Pirate Night. I think that is on Thursday, or when ever it is that we are in Puerta Vallerta. We will all meet between the Main and Late Dining rotations outside of Lumiers. I'll put it in the DIS Navigator to help everyone remember.pirate:

Scrap Exchange??? I am such a newbie! What is a scrap exchange?

Also, I have an idea for a fish extender but its one big pocket for the entire family. I will have each of the kids in a porthole. Do gifts usually go to the entire family or should I make each of the kids their own pocket?

One pocket is fine... that way you can "divy" up the gifts as you please.

Scrap Exchange: If you are into scrapbooking, then we meet and "trade" items pertaining to our cruise. The way we did it on our last cruise, is we laid out our trade things on a table and we took what we wanted... If we brought 5 items, we were able to take 5 items.. If we brought 9 items to trade, we took 9 items... One person brought several baggies all filled with stickers, ribbons, buttons, clips and other emblishments, others brought sheets of paper, some brought die-cuts especially made for our cruise. It was alot of fun and yes, there were a few "refreshments" and pictures and it was a lot of fun.
If we know how many are attending, then we could each bring enough stuff so that everyone gets something from everyone... or not... or what ever ya'll want to do... personally, I'd love to get something from everyone... so I will bring enough to share with everyone. :grouphug:

Hey, DGma wants to know if she is allowed on before we set sail. She is not sailing with us....does anyone know the rules about it or not?

Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

I believe she is NOT allowed on the ship as you have to have a ticket/boarding pass... not sure about the terminal, but I know that we had to show our docs to go up the stairs to the terminal.

WE GOT THEM TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say though that I was expecting more. It was pretty boring. ok, major question.....on the insert that has the sailboat on the front & that says checklist, when you open it in the bottom right corner is exactly what i am looking for. beautiful beach, and it looks nice and calm, and the umbrellas and the whole 9. so where can i find this?
i have read in several places that the water is rough.:confused3 we really want to play on the beach, and go in the ocean. up here in northern ca, the ocean is cold, so we don't hit the beach too much, but hello...we are coming to mexico, and we want the pretty water, and a beach. any suggestions from you veterans, or anyoone who knows where to go? i am looking at the thread that is asking people questions from teh previous mexican riviera cruise. :confused3

YES it would be awesome for it too be calm waters ......... but i dont know if you will get that or not.

Here in Fort Lauderdale usually June to Sept.....Our waters is FLAT as a pancake. MOST DAYS!!!!!!!
I love it like that!!

We are only do one ocean excursion which is snorkeling my DD wanted to do that really bad. But we can get enough ocean time here that we opted for other stuff.

In CABO.....we are doing 4x4s on a large farm i think it is.
In MAZATLAN....we are doing Randis Happy Horses
In PUERTO......we are doing the snorkeling!!!!!!!!!

I am off to day soooooooo

That means i will be packing for Day 4 of our vacation, which will be Day 2 of the cruise which i think is FORMAL NIGHT!!!!??????

OH GOSH THIS PART IS SO FUN!!!!!

I love packing and getting our clothes ready to go!!!!!!

I also have to pack for my trip up north for sons college gradutation!

My DH finally pulled down the suitcases! :cool1: so I'm packing this weekend!...
It feels SOOOO good to put stuff in the suitcase... it brings me that much closer to sail away!
:yay::dance3::cheer2:

Thanks for the information.

Would send you our family names in a private message but I still have a minimum number of posts. That is frustrating.

I will be making our lanyards or I found a place that has them cheap online (strapworks.com) and am checking them to see if we can get them in LIME GREEN. Thought that would be a way not to lose them. Do the kids get these key cards or just the adults?

:dance3: I'm doing the cruise docs dand:dance3: WHOO HOO:banana: :yay: :cheer2: My TA is on vacation, so I had to go pick them up, but at least I HAVE THEM TOO!!!!! And, I just got a new digital camera and case today:thumbsup2

No so sure about haveing the DIS inbetween the boat drill and the sail away party. I don't think we are going to the sail a way party. I want to be at the front of the boat this time I think.

What ever is decided I will change on the first post. As of now if I am correct it is 2:00? Correct?

All of you are ahead of me with the packing!:worship: I have not really even thought of what I am taking.:) Now that baseball is over I can start to think about it. My son is coming home this weekend for the first time in a long time. I have to get on him to get his things ready. He does not come home till the Week before we leave and I don't think he will be home till Wednesday. By then I want evey thing in the suitcase.

take care and have a good weekend everyone!
