First of all let me start this by introducing myself. I am Joleen (hi to all those whos TRs Ive lurked on, most recently Zzub, and Mrs. The Kings) a 30 something mom, (Man this is sounding like one of those personal ads or a 12 step meeting, ok Im going with that) and a complete Disney addict. (Yes my name is Joleen and I have a Disney problem) I tend to ramble and probably tell to much of my life. Sorry if that offends. If you get bored with me just scroll through the pictures. Thats what I do when I get bored.
I met my DH in September 2008 we dated for 4 weeks got engaged and were married within 6 weeks of meeting. (Did I mention Im a little nuts?) No seriously, we just knew. (Great now I sound like a greeting card or something). It helped knowing each of us had been praying for our partner. We met in church too, so that also helped. We had a great foundation to build on. We eloped in November 2008; I mean of course we did who can plan a wedding in 2 weeks? My family was fine with it as long as we promised to have a real wedding with in 6 months to a year. Ummm ok.

An aside .the lord put me with a man that could completely understand what I go through with my boys. I have 2 boys 13 & 9. DH has two boys 7 & 5. Yes, everybody sing it with me ..We are the Brady Bunch! They all 4 have ADHD; yes thats right ALL 4. It takes a special person to understand what that means and to be able to deal with it when the kids arent yours. That isnt true with our family .I have 4 boys and so does my DH. Our boys all have ADHD. Aside end! (See I told you I ramble)
Some of you ladies will completely relate to this next part. I was 31 when I met my DH. I had been a single mom for 12 years, and had gotten used to being alone. I had given up the dreams I had as a young girl of the princess dress and all the flowers etc. So when my parents insisted on a wedding I felt a little like a fish out of water. I had to actually care about dresses and colors and flowers and cakes? Holy Toledo Batman can I do all this? Luckily my step-mom and Maid of Honor quickly stepped up to help this budding bride out of the quicksand I was in. The upside to this real wedding was that hey we just might get to go on a Honeymoon! You see everything happened so fast when we eloped that my boys and I had already paid for our Thanksgiving trip in 2007 and were just a week away from going on it when DH & I married. DH couldnt get the time off work, so the boys and I went on our trip without him. (It sounds so sad now, but at the time it made complete sense) We had planned the trip because it was our first family holiday without both of my grandmothers who passed in Jan 07 just a couple of weeks apart. Disney is our refuge from the storms in life. It really was exactly what the boys needed. We did end up coming back a day early though. I just couldnt stay away from my husband for any longer. Since then we have had to deal with 5 days trips out of town for me. I have to travel for work a few times a year, but I digress. We talked about were to go on our Honeymoon. We talked about cruises or a cross country drive to NY. When we started pricing things, it turned out that we could go to Disney for 8 days, deluxe style for the price of a cruise and excursions. DH made the decision, saying I hope there is enough stuff for adults to do without kids. So I set up the most perfect surprises for him, but you will have to stay tuned to find out what they are! He had never been to Disney before so he left all the planning to me! I did do a kind of PJ on the wedding boards so those of you who might have read it and this all seems a little familiar now know why! Fast forward to June 08, we had a real wedding on 6/7/08. It was beautiful and we loved every minute of it.

Then we were off on our Honeymoon ummm I mean Disneymoon June 8-16th.

We left our wedding about 5-5:30pm on Saturday evening. We drove to Mobile that night. We stayed at the Comfort Suites off Hwy 60. The man at the front desk said we only have a king suite is that okay? Well we were standing there at 2 am only my hubby and I. Mind you I was wearing my BRIDE shirt. I somehow think the King room was absolutely perfect. The price wasnt bad either. We had to get up and leave at 8 am, so we didnt even bring in the bags, just a change of clothes. LOL yes we are lazy.
During the drive DH decided that we needed video of the road ahead and the clouds? Yes I do believe the man was BORED! We kept getting honked at. I really dont know why. It couldnt have been the white shoe polish on the windows saying Just Married and I believe Rick & Rack. Which in guy code is (PC version of course) something of the equivalent of, The Honeymoon is ON LOL. (They wrote Rick & Rack on the car as we were driving off! Guess they knew wed have washed it off. For some reason I have no picture of the car with that on it.)

We got up at 8am as planned; surprisingly we were refreshed and ready to go. We looked at the continental breakfast and decided to pass. We got on the road and about an hour or so later we stopped to eat at the Waffle House. How this is better than the continental breakfast that was free at the hotel I dont know, but it makes complete sense to DH. I let him have his little victories, its easier that way. We get on the road and about an hour later, DH is regretting the Waffle House decision. He is panicked telling me to find a place to pull over. As soon as we do, the man I swear flew into that bathroom. I dont think I have ever seen him move so fast. Later, he gets back in the car and of course I am laughing at him like a proper wife should. He likes to tell me lots of details in these kinds of situations to which I listen to the funny parts and quickly delete from my memory the other parts. I did get to tease him about not farting for a few hours which was fun in itself. We acted like kids singing to the radio and playing the air guitar while driving through Florida.
Until we arrived on Disney property and saw this

Up Next - We check into our hotel and begin our Disneymoon right!
