Quick question, it says catergory "fun for little ones" and for "preschoolers", but yet the height requirement is 40", can little ones go on it? just wondering if something was misprinted in the description, cuz most of the fun for little ones don't have the 40" requirement. I'm trying to totally avoid all the rides I know she won't be able to go on so it won't be an issue if we get turned away. Thanks!

Yes, the minimum is 40". Weird, because this ride is VERY tame! How tall is your DD?

Two years ago my younger child was too short for it--they checked heights. This trip he easily was tall enough (at age four) and both he and my six year old loved the ride. I, on the other hand, hated the ride--the seat depth is really shallow and thus very uncomfortable. The view was nice though. :)

Yes - everyone must meet the "stick" test (which is not always exactly the inch requirement posted :) ). It's one of the silly height req's IMO. The ride is VERY tame even though it goes kinda high :confused3 One warning - the line may look short, but this is a very sloooooooow loading ride.

I agree this is one weird ride design/requirement. It is so tame however, it does go quite high and the kids are really not closed in strongly. Here are a couple of photos of the ride:

When my dd was 3, it was her favourite ride. She went on it 3 times in quick succession. She was 42 inches with her sandals ;), she hit the top of the bar for Grizzly River Run and everyone in line cheered for her.

Our last trip to DL my youngest DD was "barely" 40 inches...she had to wear her "tall" shoes into the park. Ironically enough, she made it onto Soarin, but not Jumpin Jellyfish. :confused3 They said she wasn't tall enough, and we had just come from Soarin, which is also 40 inches.

You really want to sort rides by hieghts. I don't like the setup on DL.com but it will show you rides that have a minimum hieght matching what you select. I would rather it list all rides available to that hieght and shorter.

Anyhow what really determines what ride a child can handle is how they handle, hieghts, speed, darkness, loudnoises, ect... So you will have to know your child and thier thresholds.

FYI- unless it is a walk-on, i don't think it is worth it. We turned a trip to DL into a field trip last yrar, and kept track of all of our line times and ride times. Jumpin Jellyfish was the shortest ride time, at 47 seconds...Just in case you ever wondered!

skiingfast -- this is where I always look for the height requirements...
