Jumping, Dancing & Jamming Our Way Through Walt Disney World! I'm With the Band Now!

Oh wait! I forgot something. The ring (not the wedding ring) that Lacey wore during the wedding was my grandmother's graduation ring. I wore it in my wedding as my something borrowed & my something old so I thought it would be appropriate for Lacey to wear it in her's as well. The necklace that she wore was the pearl that I picked at Epcot this year. I knew I'd be able to sneak a little bit of Disney into the wedding. :thumbsup2

The pictures are so lovely! I think Lacey looks beautiful. Her dress is perfect! Everything looks fabulous!

Thank you! I can't wait to see the photographers pictures. Lacey called this morning and said that there were over 60 pictures of just family. Hallelujah! Maybe I'll be in at least one of them.

What a lovely wedding! Lacey was really beautiful, and so were you. :)

I love how everything is so simply elegant. You see so many weddings these days that look like star weddings and must cost a fortune and a half, it's nice to see normal people have a normal wedding. It's not about the bling anyway, it's about the love. And this wedding seemed to be filled with love. :bride::lovestruc

I don't know if I mentioned it already, but it's too bad that you were not featured in the video, and you had every right to be upset and cry about it.

Thanks so much! I'm so blessed to have a daughter who isn't into the material things in life. I think a lot of it came from a good set of parents. :lmao: Actually, I think she learned quite a bit about what is and isn't important in life when she was with the Mission.

I am over not being in the video now but, at the time, I couldn't stop crying.

Looks like it was a lovely wedding! I love your dress! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I loved the dress even though I'm not a dress person.

I love how everything turned out. Seeing all the stuff you did to get the wedding ready just blows my mind. Fixing all the bags of sunflower seeds would have done me in......:lmao:. I love your idea of the preacher standing where he did; the pictures during the wedding should be of the bride and grooms face, not their backs.

Girl, I was one worn out woman by the time we got the wedding done. We had a little sunflower seed package preparation party one evening. Lacey and I had already made the tags and glued the sunflowers on them beforehand. Mama came over and we had a table set out the living room where we tied the tags on and we watched television while doing it. It was nice to have three generations together.

I always thought it was dumb for the bride and groom to have their backs to the audience during the wedding. The church where they were married was set up perfectly for Lacey and Jesse to be the stars of the show. The steps in the front aren't there all the time. Lacey painted them and had someone help her bring them in for the wedding.

Love all the pictures. What a busy weekend. I' amazed all the stuff you were al lable to get done in such a short time.
I have to ask, what is a grooms cake? I have never heard of that before.
I hope the next reception went off without a hitch as well.

We were some decorating fools! Thank goodness everybody in my family is pretty crafty. You haven't heard of a groom's cake? Maybe it's a Southern thing? Anyway, there's the main wedding cake and then a groom's cake. The groom's cake is usually the size of the one that Jesse had and is decorated like the groom's hobby or favorite things.

I hope to get pictures of the Louisiana wedding up soon. I didn't get to take a whole lot though because we were trying to make sure the food stations were kept full.

Catching up!

First, I'm so sorry about the video! That videographer should have figured out who you guys were and included you. You are a huge part of the wedding day--and their lives!

Interesting! During our Agent Education Program 2 weeks ago, our instructor said CBR hadn't yet decided if they were going for the Queens or not. Perhaps this has changed VERY recently! Or someone has incorrect info. Let's hope they are upgrading!!!

Beautiful pictures!!!!

Lacey's looks stunning!!!! What a beautiful bride! I loved all the pictures - the decorations were fantastic and so unique-I love it! What a wonderful day--congratulations again to you and to the happy couple! :goodvibes

Where did they go on their honeymoon? You have probably already said, but I cannot recall. I love the idea of the one person giving them a Visa gift card for a fancy dinner, those are usually very far and few between when you are newly married! :thumbsup2

Thanks for sticking around and catching up. Thank you so much on the compliments on the pictures. The wedding turned out great! I am now over not being in the video but it sure did sting for a while there.

Maybe the castmember that I spoke with was wrong about the CBR getting a refurb. I'm hoping so!

I forgot to comment on the jeep. That is hilarious! Must've been a lot of guys doing the decorating.

Yep, it was a bunch of guys who all knew that both Lacey and Jesse were waiting until they were married. There was one something-something that was drawn on the Jeep that was taken off before everybody came out. You could still see the outline though and some of the guys went to a Auto Zone and got some cleaner to take it off. Lacey told them she wouldn't be mad at them so long as it went away....which it did! All the boys in the Mission used to be intimidated by Lacey because she spoke her mind and didn't take any crap from anybody. I raised my girl right!

Man oh man have I missed a lot. The wedding looks to have been a great time. Lacey looked very calm and happy as she should.:bride: I have to agree the video person really should have done some "homework" and found out who the parents of the bride were.:confused3 I'm looking forward to more of your trip report. Our trip is at the 90 day mark before we go and I need a Disney fix.:)

I've been wondering about you! How are things?

Lacey was very calm before, during and after the wedding. She said she had no reason at all to be worried because she knew Jesse was the one.

I thought the videographer should have done a little "homework" too but I'm okay with it now. He just better be glad he lives over 500 miles away from me. Just kidding!

Wow I got left in the dust!

About your online chat, I sure hope they come out with a May-June discount soon too. We will be checking in either June 2nd or 3rd but the rates were so high for 2012 I need to wait for a room discount!

All of the flower arrangements and decorations were so pretty you all did a great job! The cake was beautiful too. Your baby girl made the prettiest bride.

I'm so sorry you didn't get in the wedding video. Who doesn't ask who the brides parents are when they are making a wedding video:confused3 That would have really upset me too.

I'm glad John got better and it wasn't any worse then it was.

Oh yeah I almost forgot did you get the pm I sent you?

I totally forgot to respond to your pm. My email account was hacked into and they took my contact list and sent that crazy email to everybody. I told them all if the email said I was stuck in Disney World and to send money, then they would have known it was legit. :rotfl2:

I am so very anxious to see what, if anything, Disney releases as far as May/June discounts go. I'd even switch my vacation dates around if they offered something.

The wedding did turn out great and I was very pleased with the way everything looked. Lacey said everybody commented on how pretty everything was and that the decorations looked just like her.

The video is great, it is a little disappointing that your not in it.

The decorations are beautiful. You'll did a great job!!

The video is wonderful and I am okay now that some time has passed.

Oh, Lisa, it was just beautiful. You did SO MUCH WORK on the decorations and all, and it was really pretty. :cheer2: Lacey was so beautiful and she DID look serene - I really love that dress. And the mother of the bride looked so pretty herself! :goodvibes Your pictures were great, as always. I love the yellow ties for the guys to match the yellow bridesmaids dresses and the sunflowers. Thank goodness things settled down a little, John felt better, and you got there on time WITH the jewelry! And that wedding cake was so unique and pretty, and the groom's cake looked great also.

She was one of the calmest brides I have ever seen. She was just chillin' waiting on the wedding to start.

Thank you so much for the compliments. Lacey helped me pick out my dress and we both loved it as soon as we saw it.

John said he had no idea why he started feeling so bad because he really wasn't that stressed out. We're thinking it was mostly due to the doctor changing up his meds.

You know that Lacey is definitely not a "traditional" bride so she did not want any type of "traditional" wedding cake. We all thought it turned out really well.

How was the second reception? Now that it is all over we need for you to get back to your Disney trip report!

It turned out really well. I had quite a few people who ended up not getting to come because of their kids' activities, a death of a friend and other factors. I think we had about 70 people there.

We do not have a Zaxby's anywhere near here. The closest thing to Zaxby's is a Raising Cane's and John doesn't care for it at all. Now that you mention it, I remember seeing the Zaxby's from the interstate. I even said something about it.

Last year, when we went to Georgia and stayed in Helen, we drove to Pigeon Forge. If I am remembering correctly, it only took us about 2 1/2 hours to get there. How long are ya'll going to be staying in Gatlinburg? Maybe you could work in a drive to Helen.

We have 3 in this area and the one in Clinton is on HWY 80 just off the interstate. I love eating there! There salads are so good too!!

We will be there for 4 days or so. We are always looking for a day trip somewhere so this may be perfect! I need to look into it further!!

I got a little behind with this weekend being crazy! You guys missed out on the torrential rain didn't you? But what about these awesome temps!? Is it cooler over there? It was almost in the 40's here overnight!! Oh but about being behind....Lacey's dress was so pretty! I love the personal touches you guys had all through out!

As you all know, the Louisiana wedding reception was held one week after the wedding. Because we were all closer to home, we had decided to have both hot and cold foods at this reception. At the other reception, we had nothing but desserts.

The reception was being held in The Civitan building here in town at absolutely no cost to us. My mother's cousin is one of the main men in The Civitan Club and offered to let us use the building free of charge. Of course, we jumped at the chance. Renting a venue can be very very expensive!

The Civitan building was rented out on Friday night so we couldn't get in until Saturday morning. We set our alarms and were there a little after 7:00 a.m. The building is not that large and has a entry, a large room and a smaller room that we could use. The kitchen was pretty small but we would manage. The first thing we did was start figuring out how we wanted the rooms laid out, how many tables, etc. There were two plain old ugly glass doors at the back wall of the larger room and we instantly knew that those had to be covered up somehow. Yay for having tons of extra fabric and netting. Oh and we had use of anything and everything in the storage closet if we needed it.

My older sister, Carolyn, came about an hour after we had gotten there and helped us set up the food tables and anything else that needed to be done. We used all of the decorations that we used at the Georgia reception sans the wooden cheese boxes. We kept the Louisiana reception a lot less formal than the Georgia reception. Not that the Georgia reception was formal but this one was more of a party/get together and not the whole "introducing Mr. and Mrs. Spence" kind of reception.

Lacey's dress was a cute little satin dress that we bought on clearance at Dillard's for just $27! It was a halter dress and it had pockets which Lacey loved.

John and I never did stop long enough to have our picture taken with Lacey and Jesse. I swear, you'd think we didn't even show up to the darn wedding and receptions. :sad2:

When quite a few guests were there, we had Lacey and Jesse cut their wedding cake so that we could go ahead and put servings of the cake out for the guests. Before I post pictures of the cake, please be gentle......I made it. The cake, itself, was pretty darn good as was the icing. However, I made the icing a wee, okay so a lot, brighter than I intended to. It was not a pale yellow but rather a lemon yellow. It was bright! It took 6 1/2 hours to cook the cake and about 45 minutes to ice. I bought the 3" deep cake pans and it took forever and a goshdog day for the layers to bake. My kitchen looked like a tornado had come through by the time I finished baking the cake and making the icing. My niece is the one who actually iced it. I am thanking my lucky stars that Lacey isn't the kind of gal who likes to have everything perfect or I'd be in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

You can see the glass door cover-up we made in the pictures above and below.

By the time I had gotten through baking the cake, I had no energy left and simply ordered a plain chocolate cake for Jesse's groom's cake. We used the same decorations on this cake as we did in Georgia.

The buffet consisted of potato salad, bbq smokies, meatballs in gravy, smoked ham, turkey, rolls, vegetable trays, all sorts of dips and crackers, cake, lemon cookies, wedding cookies, dark chocolate pirolines and fruit with fruit dip. We also had water, coffee and punch. As I said before, this reception had more of a party/get-together atmosphere and it was fun to get to visit with our church friends and family.

Some of these pictures were taken before we had gotten everything put out but you'll get the gist of it:

My niece's gift to Lacey and Jesse was a handstitched quilt that she had done. It was absolutely beautiful!

One of the items we found in the storage closet was a CD player. We had music playing lightly during the reception. Until.........one of the ladies from church who adores Lacey asked Lacey if she would dance for them. Lacey loves to dance but won't do it in front of us at all. Never would. They brought in some dance music and they were in the middle of the room doing some sort of slide:

**See the little boy in the blue shirt in the picture above? When he was born, he weighed just a little over one pound. God's grace shown down on that family and he is, today, a wonderful healthy boy with absolutely no disabilities (physical or mental). He is truly a miracle! :littleangel:

After almost 3 hours, things wound down and everybody started leaving. The ones who were left were the really close family members and friends who helped us pick up and clear the room. They were a blessing and I appreciated the help.

The reception was a complete success even though there were quite a few families and other people who didn't get to come because of prior obligations. As I said, it was great to visit with such great family and friends.

Oh and since we didn't get a picture taken with the bride and groom, John and I posed for a picture together when we got home:

SANY6837.jpg

I was one worn out woman by the time this picture was taken and I was ready to get into more comfortable clothes. One of John and Hunter:

SANY6838.jpg

Lacey and Jesse went directly from the reception to his parents' hotel to pick up something his parents accidently took back with them. His parents were leaving at 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning to make the drive back to Tennessee. We had bid them farewell at the end of the reception. We also thanked them profusely because they were taking all of Lacey's stuff that was still in Louisiana back with them to Tennessee. Another blessing!

I'll get the address to the Hampton Inn that we stay at in Helen and you could mapquest it from the place you are staying. The Hampton is right in Helen so it'd give you an idea of what kind of travel time you'd be looking at.

We did miss out on the bad rain. It did rain all day long Saturday and the majority of the day on Sunday but not super hard. There were times when the wind blew like crazy and it'd rain hard but not for long. I love the cooler weather! I think our high is 80 something today and for the remainder of the week. Our night temps are supposed to be in the 50s.

Before I get back to Disney, I need to post a few pictures that I took of Hunter's football team last Tuesday. They won 22 to 0! Hunter is number 40. I didn't take any of them while they were actually playing. I was watching the game and totally forgot. :rolleyes1

Okay, I'm off to find out where I left off on the Disney trip report. And, I need to find my pictures on Photobucket so that I can write up the next installment. Disney's on it's way boys and girls!

Love the decorations for the reception, it all looks fantastic! And I think your cake looks great, even if the yellow is not the exact shade.

And yay for Hunter that they won their first game! :cheer2: Oh, and that the heaviest rain missed you. We are getting the remnants of Lee right this moment.

Lastly, on the last post of the previous page you posted the picture of John and his brother twice in a row. Not a big deal, but I wanted to tell you since I think you meant to put a different picture there the second time. :goodvibes

The food at the reception looked amazing and I am sitting here at work starving...wish I could reach into my screen and grab something

We were lucky that we could use almost the same decorations at this reception as we did the Georgia reception.

Hunter played football for 4 years in private elementary school and got to play every game for the entirety of the game. The football team he is on now, has a lot of players and he didn't get to play the entire game but was in quite a few times. He was excited to get to play and that they won.

I hope ya'll aren't getting too much rain. John measured our's and I think we got almost three inches in two days which wasn't a lot but we sure did need it.

I didn't mean to post the same picture twice. But, I'm too lazy to go back and change it now. :lmao:

The food was delicious! My aunt made the comment "Lisa sure does know how to throw a party!" which made me and my sisters feel so good.

I think the news said we are supposed to get 2-4 inches between today and tomorrow. Unfortunately we don't need it! Thankfully though it is not coming down too hard. It is mainly a steady, constant rain that gets heavy for about 5 minutes every few hours then goes right back to "normal" again.

Lisa--What wonderful pictures! I love all the decorations!!:lovestruc It looks like it was such a beautiful wedding!:goodvibes

Yay for Hunter winning his first game!!!:cool1:

:woohoo: For getting the reception room for free! It looked like you all had a fun party.

:cool1: Tell Hunter congratulations on winning his first game!

You did an absolutely wonderful job on Lacey's wedding & receptions !:worship: The decorations were so light and lovely. The food layout was so cute (loved the basket thing the rolls were in!:thumbsup2)

Lacey looked beautiful in both dresses, and they looked very happy. I can tell you're a proud Momma!

That would be great to get the address! It would give me an idea on time and on the directions! We got a total of 11 3/4" rain! The soccer field Madison plays on is under 3ft of water right now so no soccer tonight!

The LA reception looks like fun and that spread was awesome!! I was impressed with the cake even if the yellow coloring was a little off!

The other night we were discussing no Zaxby's in your area which led to your post which led to Madison saying to tell Hunter "Hi".....So I am doing as she asked!

Wow - you must be exhausted after all these wedding receptions. I love Lacey's dress that she wore to the second reception. And you did an awesome job with the cake. Yeah - its a little bright, but it's fabulous! I could never do that!

Wow, Lisa!! You did such a great job on the wedding stuff! It looks like both events were fantastic!

We were up in Lacey's new territory this past weekend. We went to Knoxvile for the first UT game. Saturday morning we were sitting in Market Square having coffee and both DH and I said that we wouldn't mind living there.

Of course, that would have been before we got caught in the torrential downpour at the game Saturday evening.

Can't wait to see more Disney! Especially since we leave in about 9 days!!!
