This ride looks like fun, just wondering how high it goes and if it drops slowly, or if it is a free fall drop like tower of terror?

It's a slow drop. It's not terribly high, but my DS3 thinks it is. My DS5 loves it! It's pretty tame. You can stand near it and watch it and see if it's right for you =)

Exactly what I was going to say....its pretty tame...

For me it's scarier than TOT. Something about being able to see everything the whole time...

FWIW TOT isn't a free fall. You are controlled the whole way down, because you are being PULLED down. If the engine stopped pulling you, you would stop. That's why it goes down so fast; faster than gravity, because the motor is pulling you.

Jumpin Jellyfish is a very smooth ride. Your bum won't come up out of the seat like TOT.

This is me exactly!!! When my kids were little, I used to hang onto them for fear they'd fall through, LOL. Now that they're older, I don't have to go on it anymore which is FINE by me! I love TOT, but I HATE Jumpin' Jellyfish :scared: :rotfl:

My daughter loves this ride, she is 6!! I've never been on TOT, I really want to, but I'm so scared, haha. Even the 6 year old has been on it.

This ride is pretty easy, I just always feel like I'm going to come off the seats when we go up and down. I don't like drops and this one isn't bad.

I'm so glad I'm not alone. :)

It was worse for me when the big orange was up (the Orange Stinger, or whatever i was called before it was refurbed to Silly Symphony swings?). I SWEAR we were up higher than the top of that orange, absolutely. (probably not true, but tell my heart that b/c it won't believe me!)

The ride is also a menace to men or, really, to a certain extent anyone with hip/leg juncture bones. (everyone) One mis-step while sitting down and you are injured. Youch.

This is one of DD4's favorite rides, so lucky me got to join her half a dozen times last year. I don't do well with rides with drops, but did just fine. Think of it sort of like a bumpy elevator. It's all completely controlled.

Very controlled and pretty gentle in terms of ride motion. The seat belts freaked me out, though. I second feeling like I needed a death grip on my DD. She liked it, and I actually did relax enough to enjoy it.

I will add that if your child is anywhere near the 40-inch height limit, this ride's measuring pole appears to be considerably higher than the other 40-inch poles in the park. My DD almost didn't get to ride, even though she had no issues on any other 40-inch ride in the park (both before and after our ride on JJ).

Yes agree on the uncomfort part for men, the thing in the middle is a jewlw crusher!

My DS8 has always hated the feeling of "drop rides" like ToT (or the similar smaller carnival rides) where they free-fall drop you. But he happily rides Jumpin' Jellyfish without complaints of that same feeling. Very tame. As long as you're not scared of heights it's a great view over Paradise Pier (think about which way you'll face when you pick your seat).

The drop is not scary at all! The part that scared me was that it was all so open I thought my kids would slip through. You know those moms that have horrible thoughts of the chains on the swing breaking and their child flying off into space? Or tripping on the stairs while holding the baby? That would be me :upsidedow. We have a tree swing and I literally cannot watch my kids swing on it because I always picture the branch breaking off!

Super, duper chill. Rode it this morning with my BFF who is afraid of heights. When we got to the top, she calmly remarked, "This is higher than I remember," but no panic or anything. (She can't ride roller coasters taller than 80ft unless it's a launched lift.)

Drops were mild - she held her cell phone (camera) through the whole thing with no difficulty.
