Jump in rates for 2011?

I looked at the 2010 rates before I booked for next April (the last weekend, not Easter) and saw a FHU rate was $80 wd/$83 for we. I think that's alot but it will be my dd's 13th bday and we want to celebrate at the fort.
When I called res and booked it was $100 nt w/o regard to wd/we rates. My res says FHU and I did question the agaent about the large jump in rates-$15 for the same kind of site.
Is this really true or did I get something wrong?
The Preferred HU at 2010 rates are $85/$88 and premium are $95/$98. So I could see if I asked for premium and it was $5 more for 2011, but $15!!!!

I think the whole month of April is "Spring Break" as far as Disney is concerned so you will be paying "peak season" rates.

If that is true then I will be canceling. The fort is not worth that much to us w/o any special things going on like Halloween or Christmas. We can celebrate her bday as easily at Turkey Lake or Rock Springs which are only $18 nt.

I will probably hold on to them until just before April and see if any AAA rates come out or FL Residents. I never seem to have luck getting any of those though.

I'm not sure you are looking at correct information or dates.

Easter Sunday in 2010 fell on April 4.

WDW charged peak rates at FW for March 28-April 10. So, about a week before and a week after Easter Sunday are Peak dates. Peak rack rates in 2010 were:

Partial: $76
Full: $95
Pref.: $100
Prem.: $110

Easter Sunday in 2011 is April 24. So, you can expect them to charge Peak rates for about a week before and about a week after Easter Sunday. That would cover the time period you are looking at.

$100 for a Full Hook up would only be a $5.00 increase over 2010 Peak rates. That sounds right.

Is this price gouging?

Absolutely!

And they gouge for President's Day, too!

It led to the great TCD boycott of 2010. We went elsewhere for our Spring Break trip.

As you can see, the boycott did a lot of good.

We quit going spring break as well. Not paying $85 a night for March. We decided on Turkey Lake before too and use our Universal tix.

I'm looking at the last weekend like I said in an earlier post. 2 days before May. By their own rate schedule Regular season starts around April 11/12 which this year was $80/$83. So they have gone up ridiculously in my opinion.
I'm a local so I know other places to go and I probably will if I don't get a better deal. We camped for years w/o going to FtW and I can camp elsewhere again. We're not Disney fanatics, so it wouldn't be a great loss, just their loss.
I'm not getting anything better in a FHU so I don't see the reason for the huge jack up in price.


Edit: Sorry didn't know the exact dates of Easter for 2011, it seems very late. and I couldn't find a rate chart for 2011 before booking. I looked on DisBoards but was unable to come up with one.

Like TCD said it's because Easter is later than it was last year, nothing to do with Peak, Regular, Value, or anything else.

For a lot of schools that is Spring Break week especially for the Parochial schools, (the week after Easter 4/25-4/29) with people staying thru Sat.
