July5,2003 Magic...who's going?

Almost ready for the off! Just away to switch off the computer when I finally received the form I needed for a course I am doing when I get back - been hassling them for weeks about it! So guess what I will be doing on the way to the airport:rolleyes:
Good luck with the packing everyone - see you on the 5th:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Wendym and Doreen

Congrats To Sandy!

Well our DS Gary just finished his school exams today and thinks they went OK so thats a weight off our minds > He is hoping to go to Cambridge University He has been offered a place if he gets all A grades so now we have to wait until 14th August for the results.

DW is panicing about the packing.I am trying to get all my work done but it is still piling up.But in 7 days time I wont care anymore, and on friday we will be on the Virgin Plane to Orlando. We stay overnight at an Airport hotel ,all booked and paid for some time ago .If I had known about this site earlier I would have loved to have joined you all at the Radisson.

Look forward to meeting you all at the sailaway party.

Just look out for the Brits, with the London accents and pale skins from all the rainy days.(normally but at the moment it is about 77F and the sun has been shining for nearly 3 weeks -a record here)

Ashley

So that's where all OUR sun is...over in London. Please bring it with you when you come over!!
We've had all your rain!!! Today and yesterday are gorgeous here though, can't complain too much...it's hot!
See you on the 5th:cool:

Yes sbennett
and we cannot believe that it hasnt rained this week when Wimbledon has just started .as it always rains then.

I think that thing about rainy London is a myth. I was there the first week of July 10 years ago (well, Portsmouth and Southampton, really) and had beautiful weather all week.

Three more days and we'll be on the road.

Congrats to all the graduates.

Hey, Ashley, say "hi" to my daughter if you see her in London. She's studying at the University of London this summer (although she's actually in Glasgow this week). It shouldn't be too hard to spot her.....she's the one running her ATM through the cash machine several times a day!!!!! As I just reminded her in an email a little while ago, she's got only 5 weeks left to put the moves on William!!!

jeanneg

She should have gatecrashed Williams 21st party at Windsor last Saturday.

I think she may be too late now

That's the bumper sticker on our silver Durango which will also be tearing down I-95. We have 4 bonafide drivers so we should make good time....as long as everyone's bladder cooperates!

yea! AAA say they have our docs and staterooms are correct. Only our flights are late sooooooooooo we will be the ones that are holding up leaving port...they said they wouldn't leave without us as our air and transfers were all booked through them.
so everyone might want to move their departure clocks back a bit. LOL Joan

Sandy- congrats on your job. now you can just enjoy the cruise. Carol jean- We would love to sing happy birthday to your little girl. We're celebrating two birthdays on the cruise- DS JUly 1 (18) and DS July 19 (15) and two graduations from H.S. -my DS and Anna S.''s DS.. Well I'm almost done packing-leaving on the 28th for Virginia and a family reunion. Leave there on July 3. My Dh couldn't get the threedays off so he's working out of the Washington D.C. office. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Any opinions on Category 5 and/or room 7532? As a first-time disney cruiser I was curious as I did not make the reservation myself. I notice a lot of you are on Deck 6; any reason?

Lisa

One more question....does the lower the number go, the more expensive the room? For example, a Cat. 7 is less (or smaller ) then a Cat. 6, etc.?

Lisa

Dis mama

Yes the lower the number the more expensive the room, and normally the higher the deck always carries a premium.

7532 I do not think differs from the staterooms with Verandahs on deck 6.Probably identical.

Last time i cruised I was on deck 7 and I liked deck 7 ,but if I remember correctly I was offered deck 6 this time when i made my reservation and as I was happy with that I did not take it further .So deck 7 should be very good.

Ashley

Dismama,

I believe we wanted something in the middle for our first cruise. We were given deck 6 and it worked out great. Not too many flights up and not too many to go down. I used the stairs most of the time. I even requested the same staterooms which I received.

The only difference between Cat 5 and Cat 6 is that the Cat 5 is on deck 7 and costs more. The size of the cabin is identical. Last time we cruised we had a Cat 6 and were very pleased with it. This time we booked rather late (Feb) and all the Cat 6's were already taken. We ended up paying more for the privilege of being one deck higher, which in my opinion is a waste. I'd much prefer to spend those extra dollars on libations!

I seem to remember someone posting that they were leaving for Florida today, but I forgot who, and this thread is so long now you can never find anything! Anybody recall? In any case, if you're leaving today, have a safe journey and we'll see you on Deck 10!

That would be me who was leaving today. As soon as DH walks through the door, we are gone. Just wanting to check in one last time before turning off computer and leaving. Can't wait to see you guys.

We will all be wearing matching Mickey shirts with a flag. Mine will be red, DH blue, and the boys gray.

Amy

Amy - have great trip and we'll see you in a week. We'll be right behind you, leaving on Sunday.

Speaking of matching shirts, I'm trying to fend off a rebelliion. Remember when I said we would be wearing matching DVC shirts on embarkation day? Apparently, my kids got wind of it and said "now way". When I asked "why not, you would all look cute", my 21-year old son told me I had just framed the problem :) So, look for Judy and me in matching red DVC shirts and the kids wil be wearing whatever!

I'll check in on Sunday morning to bid adieu.

Whew, do I win the prize for last with cruise papers?

I have houseguests tonight and a reunion tomorrow so I bid all those leaving soon, fair journey. I can't wait to meet you all in person.

eyern-you don't win--I still don't have my docs but they are now at the TA and she said I could pick them up today. I was VERY UNHAPPY as our flight is so late we will miss lunch--my consulation I got to pick my dinner rotaion(we'll see if they really give it to me) and prebooked dinnr at Palo's for Sunday night (we'll see if that happens too) I will not worry about it as I now just plan on having a really great time with my family.

For those on your way have a safe journey!

Joan
