July2016 vs August 2016-when would you go?

Hiya folks!
I am tentatively planning a Disneyland/San Francisco trip for next summer and we can travel as soon as the first week of July through to the 3rd week of August. I have never been to California in the summer, just flown through so I am not familiar with summer weather and crowd patterns at DL. (we have been a few times during the winter and spring) San Fran isnt really an issue, we are happy to go there anytime so my question for my fellow Disers with Disneyland summer knowledge is - If you could pick one week to go to DL, which would it be and why? Thanks for any help you can give...

We always go the end of June/early July, and have a great time. It is after the So Cal AP's are blocked, and all of the Grad Night's have taken place. The weather hasn't been too bad for us, and I can get hot really easy. I find that August/September seem to be warmer.
Throughout the summer, there will be crowds, but park hours are long and entertainment in full swing. Make sure to get there at rope drop...you can get a lot done.

Thanks Girimama. I had read about Grad Nights but forgot to factor them in and didnt realize there was a time when certain APs are blocked so thanks for mentioning this!

August will be hotter most likely but the second and third weeks in August tend to be less crowded.
