We are planning our vacation July 8-14th. Will most of the 4th of July crowds be gone? This is the only week that will work for us, so we are kinda stuck with it.

Unfortunately they will not. Although it will not be as crowded as the previous weekend, you will still have PLENTY of company!

Enjoy,

Bob

My family and I went exactly the same time last July that you are planning to go. The crowds are still there and it is very busy, but that is expected during the summer. However, it was managable. We did make use of Fastpasses for the more popular rides and for a couple of other rides, we waited at least 30 minutes. Also, there were one or two nights near closing where we were able to ride Big Thunder over and over again, which was surprising to us. We got off and then went back into line and were able to get back on the ride with barely a wait.

We were there last July 15-25th and found the crowds to be reasonable. Our first trip had been during spring break which made it seem empty in comparison. Use Fast Pass and watch for short waits. On the average waits were 20 minutes for most rides.

This is when we always go. We're from Texas, and the weather at WDW is identical to ours here at home. This year we'll be there 7/5-13. It's going to be very hot and humid. Make sure you ware a wide brim hat and have plenty of sun screen. I don't know where your from or the weather you are use to, but this kind of weather combination can sap your energy very quickly if you don't learn to pace yourself. The best advice I can give you is drink water, drink water, and more water. Stay hydrated! I've seen many a person, adults and children, that forget to drink fluids, not cokes, and end up looking and felling bad, and ruining their vacation. If you quit sweating or felling bad, head to the first aid stations in the park. If your staying on property, take those afternoon breaks. Nap, go to the pool, relax. Then in the evening, come back and the crowds will have lessened greatly. Use the fastpass system! Don't try and see everthing, because you won't. Pick rides, shows places to eat that you want. Enjoy your vacation and don't become a commando set for a mission. It will rain somewhere at Disney during you stay, maybe where you are or not. It probably won't last long, but beware of the lightening storms they are serious stuff!

Have a great time!

We'll be there, too! July 6-12
We were at Disneyland last year at this time and it was not too bad. The weather was even better. I didn't even get hot! I had to buy a new Mickey Mouse jacket to wear at night because it was so cool! Wish I could say that about this summer at WDW!

I am about to go in July for the first time as well (17th-24th). We plan on morning park sessions, afternoon swims/naps, and evening park sessions. We plan to take many photographs RIGHT after showering in the morning or evening!

July is one of the busiest times at WDW. Expect large crowds and long waits.
If you go with these expectations you will have a good time.
We have gone twice in July and once in August. We still enjoyed ourselves.
You will get to do about half of what you could do during value season, however it seems that Disney offers more in terms of entertainment during the busy busy times.

We were there those exact dates in 2005 and did not find the crowds that bad - except for evening EMH! I would avoid those. It will be HOT! Get to the parks early and do the things you really want to do. Take an afternoon break to relax or swim. The parks are open late the summer, so there's more time to do everything. We really had a great time - even with the HEAT!

Having been to WDW 3 times in JUly and having just returned froma Jan. one, all I can say is the heat is harder to tolerate than the crowds.

Make sure you take it easy, it really is exhausting to walk around on the hot pavement. Find as much AC as you can and have a FPass runner. It'll save the rest of your family alot of time walking back and forth in the blazing sun.

We also drink alot of water and never do without the misting fans.....they are a hassle to carry around but they sure are useful.

Oh! And don't forget the 1$ store pponchos!!!! Those afternoon thunderstorms are really bad!

And that's what we did (except for the picture thing). Plan, be organized and get those afternoon breaks in! The best time for us was going back tot he parks (epsecially MK) and everyone was red, tired and exhausted. We were refreshed and ready to go! No fastpasses available though, so plan well! ;)

We went last July 9th for a week and it was mobbed. So crowded. I have to tell you also that you should bring ponchos. It does tend to rain for a little while everyday. The best time of year, IMHO, is May. Unfortunately you have to take the kids out of school in May.

Just wanted to say Hi. We are going to be there then, too. We've been twice before. Both times the end of May / first of June. This will be our first July. We are going again in December also.
