July weather in Edinburgh?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me? We will be travelling to Edinburgh during mid-July to visit family, but I have no idea what kind of clothing to pack. We've been there in August and in May. Our relatives complain of a heat wave while I'm bundled up in sweats
If anyone could give an idea of the average temperature, I would appreciate it.

Not a great help but July can be as cold as 12 degrees or as high as 25 degrees. Would definetely pack a raincoat of sorts, an umbrella and a couple warm jumpers. Fingers crossed you might be lucky and be here in a heatwave with lots of sunshine. Enjoy.
