We were supposed to go last year but alas medical problems got in the way. So, now we are looking at this year. The only time we have available this summer if we want to take all the kids (due to boy scout camp schedules and dd's dance recital) would be any week from 6/29 to leaving by 7/19. Or we could wait until October and go with just the 2 younger kids as the older 3 can't miss HS. Now I know summers can be crowded and especially with the 60th but I heard October has been picking up as well. :crowded: If we went in the summer should we go after the 4th of July but then this would put up pretty close to the official 60th? Any advice would be great, thanks.:goodvibes

When specifically in October would you be going? October is now a busier month because of HalloweenTime, but not every day is going to have super high crowds. The weekends (Fri-Sun) tend to be pretty busy because of events (e.g., Gay Days, CHOC Walk, Halloween, etc.), but I've found the weekdays (Mon-Thu, not including Columbus Day) to be manageable. Rides weren't walk-on, but the lines weren't super long either. It is worth noting that in October, evening entertainment on the weekdays (Mon-Thu, again not including Columbus Day) is limited. Last year, the parades ran daily, as did WoC, but F! and fireworks were only presented on weekends. Also, Mickey's Halloween Party occurs on select night in October, which means DL will close early (6:00 pm or 7:00 pm).

In terms of the June/July dates, I would avoid the 4th of July (if at all possible) plus the weekend that overlaps with the actual anniversary (7/17). Both of those periods will have high crowds in the park (my guess is 7/17 will rival 4th of July and Christmas in terms of crowds). Once you get into late-June/July you'll be going when it's the height of summer, so it will be crowded. The trade-off is that the parks will be operating on long hours and full entertainment.

It is entirely up to you. There are pro's and con's to both. July will be busy because it's summer, and I would avoid July 4th week and go afterwards or before if possible. The first week of October typically has Gay Days which can be crowded. Also during October certain nights will have the Mickey's Halloween Party which is an extra cost to be there for. It also depends on whether you would like all your kids there or not. If you need extra help, please personal message me.
