July Super Goofs challenge thread

Monday...30 mins treadmill/1.29 miles

I tried to jog on my treadmill but kept thinking I was going to fall off, maybe I need to talk DH into "upgrading" my treadmill! :rotfl:

Good morning Goofs. I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. I did my 7 as planned. The first was a 11:30 and the last was an 11:35 with the tweeners being 9:30 to 9:50. An overall satisfying pre-race run. Yippee for taper madness!!!! :lmao: I would like to run today but my running will consist of driving an hour to a staff meeting and then an hour and a half in the other direction to the final softball game of the summer. Late night tonight and way too early a morning tomorrow. I have to drive my mom in for testing. Needless to say, I am looking forward to my run tomorrow!!! :thumbsup2

Lynnielou: I did not post numbers to make anyone feel inadequate. Had I know it was going to do that, I would have never posted them. You are a VERY important part of our team and we take the miles and minutes that everyone posts toward the total for the team. We have all had LTO moments. Some have even left the team due to them. You get extra credit for sticking with it!! :flower3:

ReAnSt: Good luck at the ortho. I hope it is not something too serious. I had a fracture of the 5th metatarsal when I played basketball. They called it a marching injury as apparently soldiers used to get them all the time. I had to be out for 2 weeks so we will keep our fingers crossed for you.

Everyone else: :cheer2:

Just as a side note, I am planning on some MIA time from the boards. I was trying to diffuse a "situation" on another thread and ended up lighting someone elses. I think it is best that I just lurk in the shadows and keep my big mouth shut for awhile. It is amazing how an innocent attempt at humor can really peeve someone and it is not usually the person that you expect it from. Nuff said, just know that I am still here, working hard and keeping track of all your miles/minutes. I will start the August thread on Friday morning!! Talk to you all after Beach to Beacon!!!!!!

Good luck on your race Lisa!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thank you for taking the time to log everyone's entries!

I had 4 miles in 40 minutes today...

Mike

Lisa: Sorry to hear of the 'situation'. I wonder sometimes if the 'reading' of posts causes some misinterpretation. People don't get me sometimes......it's really hard to know. Sorry that you feel a 'time out' is in order....I will miss your posts. We are sisters of snarkiness! Good luck at the softball game!!!!!

Monday's totals:

Time: 2:00

Tuesday's totals:

Time: 1:00
Miles: 5

I got myself out of bed this morning at 5:15!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: I hate to get up, but I didn't run yesterday (took stretch and Pilates) and I had to get it in today. I work today, and have a dentist appointment after work SO........I got up this morning like a good girl, and got the miles in. The humidity was up, and I didn't get into a groove at all, but it got done!

Beth, Mike has talked me down this morning. :cloud9: I send a huge thanks out to him again for his ear :listen: I will continue my early a.m. postings on this thread to support the team. It is nice to hear that you all like to have me around.

I agree that sometimes posts are misinterpreted. It is hard to put emotion and get your true thoughts into words. I do however share in snarkdom with some and tend to be a little sharp at times. I apologize for my misgivings. I do continue to try and grow as a person on a daily basis.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments and Mike, thanks one more time.

Lisa we would all lose if you were not here for us. We all love you here more than you realize. I personally look forward to your reports from the north woods.

Sometimes when my miles are tough with the heat and the hills I think about your determination and courage. Your stories about breaking a trail though the deep snow to feed your animals or your working long past endurance throwing bales of hay are an inspiration to me and I'm sure to others.

We need you Lisa.

Thanks to Mike for your support of our Lisa. I am glad that we are able to be there for each other in such an important way.

Lisa......we all have these things happen. I am very naive in many ways, and sometimes I will say something that means one thing to me, and a way different thing to my dh. What he doesn't get is that I am trying to give support to him, but he's the one that doesn't 'get it'! :confused3  We all just try to do the best we can, and that has to be ok! I love hearing from you Lisa.......we are living very parallel lives, aren't we?

*****except for the hay baling!******

hello!

We are home from Maryland! Not that the trip could be called super successful, but it was worth a shot. DD is definately on the mend. Now the only worry is what to do the next time she gets sick. However, even that isn't as terrible as it sounds. The Doc thinks that she might just be reacting to all the antibiotics because she is sick. Sounds strange but when he said it, it made sense. We are going to get her completely healthy and have someone here in Ga repeat the allergy tests and he will reevaluate things when he sees those results.

I didn't get a single run in while we were there. I did however do an enormous amount of walking. So much walking that my legs and feet actually hurt! Our hotel was about 2.2 miles from the hospital and I often walked back and forth when I was alone to save money. There were too many street lights to bother running.

Lisa - put me down for 30.8 miles of walking. I think I did the trip 14 times so that would add up, I think. It took me about 35 minutes a trip with the lights so thats about 7 hours of walking.

Today, I officially started training. 4.5 miles in 44 minutes. Not bad for slacking off for over a week!

Only Cecilia could walk for 7 hours and call that "slacking off for a week." Glad to hear your daughter is on the mend.

I had a poor attempt at a dreadmill run this morning. My shins were screaming after the first 1.25 miles. I rested a bit and got back on to go for a whopping grand total of 2 miles in 29 minutes. I'm discouraged but glad I have a little something to report.

HI Goofs

60 minutes total exercise time tonight
some ab work, upper body work and then 30 minutes on te bike for 7 miles.

Tomorrow is aother day! Heads up high everyone. I appreciate this thread so much for encouragement and the true sense of community that I feel here. I may not reply to posts but I do read them and catch up.

We have a great group on this team and I appreciate princessrunner for her support. She certainly keeps me on track.

Lynn

Lisa - Please don't leave me! I am going to have to crawl back into marathon shape here over the next few weeks and I am going to need you to keep me going!!!

Kim - thanks! That made me laugh and regain some perspective!

Hello everyone, a long time for me. Sorry - had the trial schedule from hell in June and was away for most of July on vacation.

Am earnestly training now for the Spacecoast half the end of November and have no more time to waste.

A little panicky, but am taking it one day at a time. Everyone knows that it is not so much about what happens on race day as it is what happens in the training days leading up to it. That is what I am focusing on.

Anyway, worked out 45 minutes yesterday and Monday.

Another 45 or so planned for today.

Am sticking to treddy for now, will do long walks outside though until it gets cooler out.

Actually, I get hotter on the treadmill, that, in itself, might be good training for possible Florida heatwaves in November.

Hope I can still be part of this team, and I will be much more consistent.

Linda

P.S. Next "race" is a 10k fund raiser for Arthritis Society on August 28th.

Today, 45 minutes of weights.

30 minutes of exercise time, however.

Lynn

Lisa...please don't leave us for too long. I so look forward to opening my email every morning and seeing your 5am postings. We love you here so just hang out with us for awhile!! :cheer2:

I don't know what the exact temp was yesterday but it felt like 112 in the shade, I did walk alittle over 7 miles but was sick the rest of the day. Tonight I tried, again, jogging alittle on the treadmill and felt more comfortable so I guess I'll take baby steps and see what happens!

Updates:

Tuesday...124 mins walk/7.14 miles
Wednesday...30 mins treadmill/1.36 miles

Happy Thursday everyone!!!!

Good early morning Goofs. It is nice to see our thread right on top this morning. Thanks for all the kind words. I, again, thank Mike for being my rock. Unfortunately, you all have me today and I will not be back until Monday. Today is my last chance workout day!! :woohoo:

They were showing the start of last years Beach to Beacon on the news yesterday morning and my DH was looking at all the runners. He says, doesn't that make you nervous? and of course I say, um, no. I sat in a group of over 12,000 people surrounded by portapotties in WDW in January. What is 6000???? Okay, so yes, I am nervous but not because of all the people....:rolleyes1

In other news, yesterday, I ran my 5K (3.1) in 29:35. See I told you before I could shatter the 30 minute mark!!! It certainly made me feel good until I remembered that I had a stellar run right before Great Bay also....:sad2: Here's hoping that I did it right this time!!!

Keep up all the great work in my absence Goofs. I will be thinking of everyone this weekend while I am away racing, beaching and oh, today is my 15th wedding anniversary :scared1: . I know, DH cannot believe I have not killed him either. He left at 3:30 this morning to haul logs and I won't see him until 7 or 8 tonight so....Happy Anniversary!!! Hence my being gone on the extended weekend for 2!!

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks again for being such an awesome team!!! :grouphug:

Run like the wind Lisa!

Mike - Sometimes those slow runs do you way more good than you realize at the time. Heat and humidity could play a part and if so, then its better to slow down.

Maura - thanks for the good thoughts! I have been saying for the past two years that it was a miracle we all stayed well while I was training.

Gees. 8 am and the temp is already 89.7 .......I am beginning to hate summer.
