Having flown SW to Orlando a few times, I know they have great prices.

Now that we are planning a trip to Disneyland, I'm wondering what their cost would be fly from Buffalo or Detroit to LAX or Orange County.

I'm going "squirrelly" comparing all the airlines and would love to get our flights booked!

Does anyone have an idea when SW will have their July schedules out?

We flew Southwest last trip from Detroit-Orlando at a pretty good fare. For our next trip we are trying Spirit - We got a rate of $150 per person round trip! AND they have the schedule up through at least September (we're going end of August). The only reason why we chose Spirit was because SW didn't have our dates added online when we checked. So check out Spirit maybe they fly out of Buffalo and you can get a better deal.

I am also waiting to see SW's prices for the summer (mid June). I would just keep checking as often as you can (once a day if possible). I would guess they would be out sometime in the next month.

Actually, Sleuth, I have looked at fares from Detroit to Los Angeles on Spirit Airlines but I'm hesitant to fly in what I read are cramped planes all that distance. I still might book Spirit but I've just been looking at all my options.

We have rode Spirit once before and SW as well and they seem the same to me as far as space goes... The problem I do have with SW is that it's almost like a "cattle call" and you don't get to reserve your seats like you do on Spirit.

SWA agent told me this morning that their summer schedules should be out around February 12.

I wondered if the space would be about the same on Spirit and SW, Sleuth. Thanks for that info! I don't personally have a problem with the A,B,C boarding passes on SW but I know many do. Last time I flew with them I checked in online at midnight and got my "A" boarding pass. That method worked well for me.

SAWYERMAW1, thanks for posting when SW's summer schedule should be out. I wish it was sooner though!

I just checked Spirit for my November trip and was able to get the dates through at least December 3, our return date. They're only $5 more than the lowest Southwest rate I've ever seen from Chicago and since I'm worried about possible high fares for our trip down I may go ahead and book them too.
