Hi gang,

I suspect the answer to this question is going to be "they are both as bad / good as each other" but I'm going to ask anyway ;)

Which would be preferable - week commencing July 23rd or August 27th?

Both are smack bang in French & UK school holidays but I would like to hear from anyone that has been in either time as to busy-ness etc:)

Merci, all :)

Karen

Personally I wouldn't go in either month - I prefer it when it's cold :cold: and quiet :ssst: !!!

Was that any help?!! :teeth:

I think the summer season has usually ended by the last week of August so I would check the dates if you want to be there for the parade and fire works etc. I am not sure if they have released the dates yet of when it ends.

Hi Karen
One other thing to consider might be when the UK end of Aug bank hol falls next year as that would poss make things busier too. I don't have any dates with me for next year so cant check.

Hi Karen  the summer season usually ends around August 26th/28th. If it is anything like previous years it will end in 2007 on Sunday 26th. We have been over this time and you really notice a big difference in crowds from the last day of the summer season to the next day (they seem to disappear into thin air overnight! :rotfl: )

The bottom line is whether you would like to see Fantillusion and Wishes (assuming they are still both running next summer ;) ) If the answer is yes go for July, if you're not bothered about either then go for August as all the hotel prices will be cheaper once the summer season is over. :)

Edited to add I have just received the new brochure and both Fantillusion and Wishes are running next summer season. :thumbsup2

We are going from 26th to 28th August. In our experience, the French tend to clear out of most holiday resorts by the last 2 weeks of August, so we are hoping that it won't be *too* busy. We also prefer the Winter to visit, this is just an interim visit as we have never managed to see some of the rides that are always closed in the Winter when we go.....POTC for example!!

The last two years, the weather was very nice in July and very lousy in August... so I would go in July, I hate DLP in the rain!

I have just received my brochure too, and I am so happy that we will finally see wishes, as this is why we decided on July over Halloween.

Thanks all :)

I like the idea of the low crowds so I think I'm edging towards August.

We were there this last July on the 26th and it was fairly busy but no where near as busy as Christmas or Halloween. It was lovely though as the park stayed open late so you could take your time.
