I am going over the 4th of July 2010. Call me crazy, I know. But anyway, I booked my flights in Oct. I paid 220.00, non-stop , great times. I was fooling around today and thought I would check. My fights are now $455.00!:scared1: That is a big jump. The Oct. fights which I am keeping track of for friends at $300.00 right now. Do you think I should tell her to book? I know they just added a sir charge for Holidays.

No way should anybody book October flights right now unless it is a bargain, bargain price. $335 might be the bargain price depending on the route. They will reach their cheapest point during the fall fare sales in the summer; just like those summer flights will reach low points during summer sales in the spring (though you got a good deal as is, but it will go down from $455 again).

Aren't you sacrificing a certain degree of ensured availability by waiting? I will paln on flying out of LAX the last week of October next year. I am trying to save where I can, but if we can't get these direct flights it kills our whole plan.

May I ask which holidays you're referring to in Oct that would be surcharged? :confused3 I would think they mean Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYs, etc.

Oct is not exactly high season to fly to MCO. I also need flights next Oct and wouldn't buy now unless they were way under $100 each way. If you can be flexible with days/flight times, all the more reason to wait and watch. SWA and Airtran haven't even released those dates and probably won't until spring.

Also, I dunno if I just lucked out or what.. but I kept an eye on Southwest and the first day they released flights for my dates they had $69.00 each way.. would have been $59.00 each way but we have to go on Sunday..

I got impulsive and hopeful and booked that first day and now when I look it is $176 each way on one leg!

Since I booked for Feb in like July (I think) I have seen it that cheap one other time.

Just something to think about!
