July Aulani Availability

How hard/easy is it to book a 1BR at Aulani in July? We are planning a trip next summer and Aulani is not our home resort. I plan on booking as soon as the 7 month mark window opens. However, after I had a difficult time booking my last stay, I am beginning to worry.

We will be attending Disapalooza this year and really wanted to stay at Poly. So right at the opening bell, I tried to book our stay, but only SSR and OKW were available, even though Poly showed availability moments before. Really, nothing else was available. Luckily, our wait list came through about 10 days later, so it all worked out in the end. But will I be so lucky with Aulani, especially if we can only wait list for 2 types of rooms??

I am hoping that since July demands higher points than June, that it will not be as popular. Although not ideal as far as our own points go, between work, school and baseball schedules, the end of July is pretty much the only time we can safely plan such a trip.

I think your chances are very likely you should be able to secure something in July. Standard view will typically go first, so your chances are greater if you are looking for Ocean View or Pool View.

There's availability at 7 months, just make sure you have enough points to upgrade a bit as the standard view units are the first to go. I walked my July reservations and was aiming for standard view dedicated 2 bedroom and hotel room. I ended up with an island view dedicated 2 bedroom and had to split the other reservation: three nights in a hotel room and 2 nights in a standard view studio.

What about for a 2 BR? We are also planning to make the trip to Aulani in July 2016 for our 40th wedding anniversary and will need two 2 BR's and possibly a studio as well. (Yes, we will be banking points and likely borrowing as well.)

As long as your heart is not set on Standard View...your chances are likely.
