July/Aug Flight

Just found a flight on Expedia going to Miami on the 22nd July-12th Aug for £503 each, the only problem is that you fly out from Heathrow-Rome-Atlanta-Miami and inbound Miami-New York-Rome-Heathrow. this might be of use to somebody.

At £503 pp how can other airlines charge the prices they are at the minute when this flight takes you to Rome then on to Miami, how much more fuel is that

Nothing to do with fuel consumption, direct they can more or less charge what they want, 1 stop people will consider at the right price 2 stops almost no-one will do, I am all for saving money but not a chance I would pay £500 to do that route, 21hr 14mn +3 hours to London + 4 hours upto Orlando, approx 32 hours travelling from home to Disney.

I've been looking at indirect for the first time, but wouldn't consider taking that route (OK maybe if it was half the price I would give it some thought).
The cheapest I have found up to now was £384 with one stop (this was for an October flight by the way), but that has now gone up to around £440

I was seriously considering 2 stops both ways.

Heathrow - Rome - Atlanta - Orlando at £469 each.

This was within my budget, so I thought "If I'm going indirect anyway, what difference will an extra stop make?"

But I just couldnt do it!

But these flights are still available in July/August if anyone is keen...!

I couldn't do more than one stop - that's bad enough! Particularly if the first leg is the oppsite direction to where you want to go

After looking at the stupid prices around at the minute I was tempted, but my wife and son soon punched some sense into me
