we have been back from disney for less than 2 weeks and already thinking of next year this time we stayed onside and it was amazing and planned to go back and stay onsite 2016 which we will still do but now my brother in law and 3 others r planning on going next July/aug and get a villa and asked if we fancy sharing the cost so we can't resist although I prefer staying on site but I see this as an extra florida trip that wasn't planned so it will be ok.
So anyway I was just looking to get an idea of flight prices for this time of year
We went 19th may - 2nd June this year and payed £2500 for flight with car for 2 adults 2 kids I'm aware that we got a good price this year xxx

I have paid £4177 for 3 adults/2 kids for Aug 16th -30th with Virgin. We paid less than £3000 for Oct 2012 :(

Indirect seem to be cheaper.

We booked last September for this August 5th - 20th , Direct flights Manchester to Orlando .. 2x Adults & 1x Kid (8) .. £2250 total cost

We're going on 17th July-1st August, we paid £3850 for 4 adults and 1 child with Thomas Cook flying from Manchester to MCO. (Was about £770 each) :)

We paid £1400 for two adults, direct from Gatwick to MCO. Travelling August 18th-25th.

We paid £4200 for four adults VA MAN-MCO 16th August. Hopefully this is the only time we'll have to go during summer school hold ;-)

Have prices really risen that much? In 2011 we paid £3200 for four adults and one child (11th August to the 25th August). The prices you guys are quoting we wouldn't be able to afford on top of the hotel, DDP, etc! :)

VA prices in particular are pretty grim. They can be reduced with M+M if you have 2,000 miles per ticket, but it doesn't shave huge amounts off.

It seems to me that last minute TC flights are the way to go if you can disappear at the last minute :)

If you're not absolutely set on flying with VA you seriously increase your odds of getting a better deal. Prices are scary with most airlines in the summer these days, but insisting on one particular airline, not necessarily VA, reduces your odds of finding a better deal.

They sure have sorry... we always use to fly with BA or VA but this year we are trying Thomas Cook Fly.. If you go later August maybe 15th onwards you can find a drop in prices but from memory this year I didnt really see the drop that we used to see, hopefully might get better next year... I think for this time of year now you are looking circa £700 per person...

Your absolutely right.i remember tracking VA 2013 prices in February that year for August and they dropped away quite a bit.move on twelve months I was. hoping for the same but alas it never happened!we were however stuck rigid with days which meant we were unable to look at Thomsons, Thomas Cook or Monarch as they did not offer our days.If we could have been more flexible then we could have got our flights cheaper.
Moral of the story is try and b flexible;)

Have u looked on delta? My DB step dad who lives in south carolina has just booked code share for easter next year payed in dollars on 28th march for 10 days and paid £689 per adult and £643 for the 3 kids. VA were quoting £4133???? He booked this morning. Closest I got was orbitz. He skyped me and I said book it.

We paid £698 per adult direct from Gatwick to MCO on 18th august this year.

Not sure when to go trying to convince the rest of the group to go 29th may to take in half term as seems cheaper than aug xx

I got VA PE seats for £900 per adult this May booking in February. This is not much more than we paid for economy seats in August 2013. Not scientific. But my experience was May was cheaper, or at least better seats for the same price.
