July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

I'm having trouble with the Cruiseline Formal Wear website; I'm not able to order on-line. Have we heard from others ordering through the website? Gosh, I hope it's not another senior moment!

Cruisin', re: "day rooms" maybe go see the Queen Mary rather than trek up to LAX if you are flying out of Long Beach airport. You never know when there where will tons of traffic. LAX and Long Beach airports can be 20 minutes or 40 mintues apart if there is an accident. Just an idea. I've been burned in LA traffic too many times to take a chance on missing a flight.

Cheri-

Thanks for the feedback. We are ok flying from Long Beach. We have a 1 or 2pm flight, will try to swing by the Queen Mary if we are pushed off the ship early. The other families (not good planners like me) are on the late, late flights and need the dayrooms, they are flying from LAX.

Thanks.

Hey everyone...I read on another thread that it was fun to bring bubbles for the sail-away party. I was thinking about getting all the kids a bottle of bubbles? Would that be okay with everyone?

So happy for those who have received their documents! :cool1: Still waiting for mine :confused3

I have started packing because I can't wait any longer! I spent most of the morning working on Dylan's and my pirate costumes. It is amazing what can be done with a scissors and some craft supplies!! Dylan even helped with the sewing! pirate:

sounds good to me too! Do you need any money?

Happy Father's Day everyone. I know calories don't count on Mother's Day and I sure hope that rings true for this day too! LOL!

I was thinking about starting to pack too but I just don't have the room to have all the suitcases out this early and I am too afraid to leave them in the middle of the room with all the earthquakes!
Lori

Oh, no money needed, Lori. This is my small contribution to the cause. I ordered 48 bottles (there may be a few bottles left for the adults in the group).

Hope everyone had a nice Father's Day. My DH left at 1:00 PM for Phoenix for a meeting tonight (whine, whine, whine). We celebrated Father's Day yesterday and this morning.

Megan did a dry run today for formal night. We did her hair and she tried on her dress. I am terrible at hair, so I was quite pleased in the twist I did on Megan's hair.

I don't think I'll start packing, but I think I will start a list of what I need to pack. Also, went to Barnes and Noble today and bought some books for the cruise. Ahhh...I can just picture me on the secret 7th deck reading a book in the sunshine.

I made yet another Target run today...seems like I always need something else for the cruise! A student gave me a Borders gift card as an end of the year gift...maybe I'll head out there tomorrow for some cruise reading material...thanks for the reminder, Karen!

Karen--I too am REALLY bad at hair! I never seem to do anything different with Alexis' hair...but Megan's looked really cute! How did you do it? I guess we'll need to be experimenting in the next few weeks!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

Kim :flower:

Kim, what is funny is that I took hair lessons from one of my Brownies (who is better than me in everything from sewing to cooking to quilting, and apparently hair). She told me to put Megan's hair into a ponytail, then twist it up and hold it up with a big barrette. She had a gift certificate to Claire's so she bought a new barrette there that was big enough to hold all her hair.

I am so much more excited about this cruise than anyone else in this family!!! (and they are all pretty excited)

Latest Roster Update went out late last night.

18 days. 22 hours. 52 minutes. 23 seconds.

Craig- An update for the roster! We are now a group of 16. 4 of us and three other families of 4.

Too many conflicts for the others: Band Camp, $$$$$, 4H events, $$$$$, vacation schedules, $$$$$, summer school programs, $$$$$.

Thanks for sending out!

I love to work with hair but with a son I don't get a lot of practice. I will offer my services to you all if you need it.

Still no docs yet. Hopefully when I get Home!!

Sheryl

Where is everyone? Isn't this the time that things are supposed to start getting wild around here? I hope everyone receives their docs soon. :wizard:

I don't do well with hair either - that's why mine is short. Luckily my girls are old enough to do their own or Krystal helps Erica with hers. The bad part about this is that we will be travelling with a suitcase full of styling products!

I have been making a lot of Target (and Walmart) trips too. Have you guys seen the dry soap that looks like a little slip of paper. You just rub it in your hands with water if you are ever in a place without soap. It comes in a little matchbook sized pouch. I picked some up since I'm not sure what the facilities will be like in Mexico.

Sheryl...My daughter would LOVE for me to take you up on that! Poor little thing!

We received our documents today so guess what I'll be doing tonight! I cannot wait for this vacation!!

I bet we'll be the last ones who get their docs :sad2: . Shouldn't there be some consolation prize for the last person who gets their docs. So very, very sad. I'm hoping for my pins to come today at least.

Congratulations Kim! Anything really exciting in it?

Do any Castaway Club members know when the Castaway Club reception is? We walked by it last cruise and were so sad we couldn't go in. Now we can!

SusanB, congratulations to you, too. I'm excited to meet you--we are moving to Indy on July 25th. Our real estate agent talked us into Carmel. It looked really nice when we visited and I didn't meet any snooty people :) .
