July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

If we're really interested in setting up a scavenger hunt, I'll build one.

I could use suggestions of things to find (I already have a couple of ideas, but I'd like a dozen or so), so please PM me if you have one so that it isn't super easy for anyone. Also, the more I think about it, the more I think I could use a day or so aboard the ship to finalize it & set things up before we start...

I don't know what day Chris & Cheri are thinking about throwing their party, but perhaps we could have the scavengers meet around lunch on day 2, I'll pass out the clues & then we can set a time to see how well everyone's done.

OK, if it helps with everyone's planning, then I'll make an executive decision on the at-sea party:

Monday (our 2nd day at sea), 2PM until it ends, whenever that is (we've been involved in previous on-board parties that continued after dinner!! :cool1: :cool1: ).

Hope that helps.

Chris

Oh, almost forgot. My opinion of Palo's: The brunch there is outstanding. You have a pretty good spread of meats, seafood, salads, bread, etc. They also offer several entrees that you can order (or more than one, if you want). They also make gourmet pizzas which are really good. For dinner, I consider Palo's to be a very good, but not great, upscale restaraunt, though the food there is somewhat better than what you'll get in the dining rotation.

Does anyone know when the formal and semi-formal nights are going to be? I'm thinking that Sunday and Monday might be one or the other because they are sea days...

I'm guessing Sunday and Thursday nights. Sunday formal night and Thurs semi-formal night. My theory is this... On the Eastern where DCL has two sea days in a row, they have formal night the first one Sunday. I don't think they'd want to do both formal and semi-formal night back to back so they'd have to pick another night. DCL won't choose our other sea day, Friday, since all our luggage has to be outside by 11PM, so that leaves the port days. We leave Cabo at 3:30PM, giving those with early seating plenty of time to get dressed for the evening.

Chris - I completely agree with your assessment of Palo's. I MUCH prefer brunch over dinner, though I won't miss either one on this cruise!!

Hello everyone. This is Krystal.. I am Sheila's daughter. I am soo excited to be going on this cruise! I can't wait! :rotfl: ::MickeyMo :sunny: :hourglass

Welcome Grumpyteen! It sounds like everyone is going to have a great time on this cruise!

Kim
Darren and I already have ours, but we're taking the kids next Friday to apply. The NYSE is closed on Good Friday, so it's a perfect opportunity!!!

DD is so excited to have such an official document. She said "Now everyone will know I'm a USA citizen!" :earboy2:

Now if they would just tell us when formal and semi-formal nights are!!!! :rolleyes1 They MUST know by now, why the big secret????

Do you guys have an opinion on which night would be a good night for Palo? Are there nights when they don't do a big show? I know I don't want to miss formal or semi-formal night with the kids. Help!!

Kim :flower:

Kim - I know, I can't wait until Julianna gets hers!! She's so excited about having a passport with her name on it!!! As for Formal and semi-formal night, I posted my thoughts above. Personally, since we just cruise in November, we're not too worried about missing it. I do think that a good bet would be Monday night for Palo though. It's a sea day, I REALLY think formal night will be Sunday and if you make your Palo ressie after 7:30, you can catch the early show with the kids. I'd just grab them something at Pluto's before the show.

First off, a big welcome to you, Krystal. We're glad you're along for the ride. As you can see, you have to be careful when you post to a thread that your mom is active on!!! If it's any help to you, she also posts during the day while she's "working"!!! :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: Come to think of it, we all do.

Kim,
One thing to consider regarding Palo's on Monday is that the on-board party is that afternoon, and there *will* be plentiful appetizers (and, of course, chocolate covered strawberries) and other such things. You might want to pick a day where you're not going to be disuaded from munching because you have a Palo ressie for later that day. Just a thought.

Chris

Thank you everyone for giving me a warm welcome! And Chris.. if thats alright that I call you that... I heard you were going to buy drinks for everyone at the deck party if we reached a goal of 90 pages on here... would that include me considering I am now helping to reach that goal. It would be a non-alcoholic drink but of course! :earboy2: :earboy2:

Hi Krystal, Matt's mom here. Nice to have you join us here!

Kim--I just received my passport in the mail today, too. I think I was more excited than the kids, though. I applied for theirs two days after mine, so hopefully theirs are on the way.

Krystal--Chris seems oh so generous so I am sure he will buy you a non-alcoholic drink (right Chris). He'll be soon buying drinks for the whole ship. :rotfl2: .

Krystal,
First off, you most certainly may call me Chris, or Soccerdad, or...give me your own nickname, I don't mind. I used to work with your mom, so she probably has a few of her own names for me, but you'll need her permission before you call me any of those :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 .

As for the 90-page goal, you got that right, and you are, of course, included since you're now officially a contributing poster.

Now Chris, you know I can't use that kind of language in front of my DD or on these boards!! :p

Welcome Krystal! and Chris is right about checking to see if Mom's on before posting!! Of course he is right about posting while working -- I hear my boss caling now!! Thanks also for helping us reach our goal. Perhaps I should get my DS involved also!

I also agree with you all on Formal/Semi-formal nights. As for nights when there are no shows --- I don't think there are any. There seems to be a different show each night. Since they are the same from cruise to cruise we don't usually go unless its "Who wants to be a Mouseketeer?" which is my son's favorite!

Weather seems to be warming up! Yea!! :jumping1:

Krystal, I almost forgot: since you've come late to this party, there are a whole series of questions this group has worked on over the course of the thread. Being the "baby" of the bunch, we're hoping you'll chime in with your answers.

Here are at least most of them:
1) What are your top 3 Disney movies of all time?
2) What are your top 3 movies of all time?
3) What is the funniest scene in any movie you've ever seen?
4) Name your top 10 songs (and artist) of all time
5) Who is your favorite Disney character, and why?
6) What's your guess for the date when we'll hit 90 pages
7) What's your guess for how many pages we'll have by the time we sail?

There are probably a few I've missed, but this'll get you started. You'll have to read through the thread to see how others have answered these.

Have fun!! :jumping1:

p.s. wait until you get home from school before you post any answers.
