July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

We will be on the July 9th cruise as well-my ds Trevor is 7 and my dd Hayley is 5. My name is Patty, we live in Portlnad, Oregon. We are travelling with my sister's family (Joan, Rick and Josie-7) and will celebrate her b-day on board. She lives in L.A. and we are very excited about a west coast cruise! We have been waiting years for this. Joan has been bugging all her friends in an effort to get a bunch of them to book also. Planning on doing DL but haven't decided on before or after cruise. On the one hand the anniversary celebration would be nice, but it will also be more crowded. Any ideas on this?

WDW and 7 day DCL Feb. 2003

We're from Southern California and are also very excited about this West Coast Cruise!!!! My kids will be DD8 and DS4 at the time of the cruise. Will your kids be 7 and 5 at cruise time, or are they 7 and 5 now? As for DL...I currently have a room at the Disneyland Hotel for 3 days before the cruise and the Paradise Pier Hotel for 3 days after the cruise because I wasn't sure which we would want to do and I didn't want to miss out on getting rooms by waiting too long to reserve. I will tell you this...the rooms are MUCH more expensive after the cruise than they are before!!! And I'm sure the crowds will be much bigger after the cruise as well since the official birthday is July 17th. Just a thought! :-) I'm leaning toward 3 days before at this point. Looks like our kids are close in age...maybe they'll meet at the kids clubs! We'll be in cabin 6060...how about you?

Hi all....

My DS and I will be joining you for the July 9 cruise. Nice to meet ya'll!

Hi Mommykeg - My DS will be 15 at the time of sailing. We're from Riverside, CA and soooo excited the Magic will finally be in SoCal!

This is our fourth cruise with Disney and I'm hoping to keep this one a surprise for my son.

See ya soon!

Amy

Good news Grumpy Mom, I'm still the apple of my DS's eye (and still his only girlfriend). Please, oh please, let me hold own to this ideal for just a bit longer! LOL!

We're on Deck 2, just in case....

Ya'll are just way too funny! :teeth:

mommykeg, my ds and dd will be a year older at cruise time, so 8 and 6 respectively. I checked my travel folder and couldn't find our room or deck #. I vaguely remember it it close to the kids club deck. May have to call Costco and double check my reservation. Maybe I should be booking a room now for the DL portion, just to know it's reserved. Really liked the GC, but it's so expensive. My kids don't know we're going yet, can't wait to tell them. Nice meeting all you fellow cruisers online. Patty

We're on this cruise date also! It will be our FOURTH Magic cruise. Been on the Bahama; Western Caribbean; Eastern Caribbean so far.

We'll have our DD18 and her 18 yr old friend (female) with us. The girls are anxious to be "on their own" and able to go to the spa, etc. now that they're 18. We're all in one cabin on Deck 6 (6562 - midship).

We're arriving on 7/6 and spending 3 days at the Grand Californian Hotel on our DVC points.

We have our airfare booked and upgraded to FIRST CLASS with frequent flyer miles. That will make the LONG trip from Tampa, FL easier to take (for me, anyway).

Hope to meet up with some of you. Happy waiting!:D

Hi, We're from Southern Calif. and on this cruise too! Myself, my husband, our son (who will be almost 2 at the time of the cruise) and my parents. We're on deck 7. Less than 9 months to go, I can't wait, this is our first cruise!!

Suzy

Suzy - We should get together, since we will both have kids about the same age on the cruise. My DD will be 25 months when we sail. I bet she & your DS would have good chance of getting along.

Hi, Patty from Portland (Oregon) here again. I found our cabin reservations and we are on Deck 7, Rm. 7512 which is starboard, fore. I want to make my reservations for DL. Any suggestions on which airport to fly in and out of? We plan on going to DL July 5 through July 9. We will probably spend and extra night in L.A. when we return from the cruise. I'm thinking either Burbank, or Orange County airport. The kids are now in on the cruise details. They are getting excited, but have no concept of how long they have to wait. Oh my, we slipped all the way to page 4.

Welcome aboard Patty, Suzy, and FOJMO. Less than 8 months to go!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

We've only got 7 more months!! :cool1:

Sarangel, our kids should get together, looks like they're the youngest ones so far!

Do you guys have room for 4 more? We're most likely joining you tomorrow when I hear back from my TA. We have been trying to find a West Coast cruise in July with verandas left and FINALLY found one this weekend. Of course the DCL "experts" are out of the office until Monday, but we should be all squared away by then. We'll be on deck 7! It's me 35, DH 35, DD 7, and DS 4. We're flying into San Diego on July 2nd staying there for 4 nights and then 3 nights at Grand Californian concierge!!! We'll also be celebrating our 10 year anniversary, so its going to be a GREAT trip!!

jel0511--we'll be celebrating our 10th anniversary too! And our kids are the same age--DD8 and DS4 when we sail!! We'll be on deck 6. I can't wait!

Well, it's official, we made it on!!! Except we couldn't get the category 5 I wanted, we ended up with a category 6 guarantee.... I hope we don't end up with a connecting cabin.... Oh well, we're GOING!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!

mommykeg - What day is your actual anniversary? Ours is May 21st, but with the kids in school, this was one of the earliest crusies we could get on. And of course the only one with availability!!

We're down to less than 200 days! I can't believe how fast it's approaching.

I have officially booked our first excursion - horseback riding in Mazatlan. We are going with Randi's Happy Horses which I have read wonderful things about on CruiseCritic.

jel0511 - Let me know if you need any info about San Diego.

Sheila - any advice you could give would ge GREAT!! We're staying at Hotel del Coronado while we're in San Diego and are going to go to the Zoo and Sea World while there. We also plan on going up to La Jolla for part of one day too. We're thinking of going to Peohe's for dinner one night, is it worth it and somewhat kid friendly? My kids are used to restaurants and very well behaved, and their website said they do have a kid menu. Also, we're looking for a AWESOME Mexican restaurant to eat at one night. I figure with San Diego being so close to the border, the Mexican has to be unbelieveable!! Any advice you can give would be GREAT!! If you have MUCH information to share, feel free to PM or e-mail me!!! Thanks for the offer!!!!!

Sheila - You're probably going to think I'm stalking you! :teleport: After your post about Randi's Happy Horses, I decided to do a little research myself, since my DD LOVES horses! I contacted Randi and asked her if she allowed children on the horses, and she said that she has no problem with children on her horses!! My DD is SO EXCITED, and I also booked with Randi today! I think we're going to have a GREAT time!!!!
