Hi all! Made it home at 9:00 pm last night, my house is a wreck, my outdoor plants are almost all dead (darn housesitter forgot to water them!!!

), the cats all lost weight, but my house is in one piece and so are we!
Had terrible storms leaving Florida and into Georgia on Sunday. Soaked through the car carrier, into all the luggage, and the clean clothing that I had washed on the cruise (saving me time at home!) is all wet and needing to be rewashed. At least my washing machine is working!
The dog was an angel the whole trip, we really enjoyed having her with us, and am thinking of certifying her as an "emotional therapy dog" so we can bring her on all our vacations.

I saw the lady with her dog on the cruise, and kept thinking I needed my dog. And my cat. Emotional therapy dog and cat - I think I can make this work.
I have so much to write about, but I have to go return the rental van in a few minutes, so I thought I would just hit some highlights.
1. Mario Sliva - our Head Server. Oh my gosh, best one we have ever had!!! Loved him, the girls were IN love with him and his eyes, he was just fantastic. On our second night, we talked about our respective homelands, and it came up that we both are descended from European royalty, so he named me a fellow Blueblood, and treated us like we were still royalty. Truly a great experience with him.
2. Servers Balazs and Michal - great! Balazs was a little slow to warm up, almost shy, but when we started talking in Hungarian he really opened up, and by day two was much less hesitant with his interactions. His food recommendations were always spot-on for my DH, he just didn't seem to have the confidence right away that some of our other servers have had in the past. We did like him, though.
Michal, the assistant, he was such a cute-y, usually pretty good about drink refills and the like. He was a bit more outgoing and less hesitant with interactions, especially with our girls, than Balazs was, so the girls really enjoyed his service. He is leaving after the present cruise though and going to work for Disney in California, so we won't be seeing him again. Balazs hopes to make it to the Fantasy, so if we ever sail the Fantasy, we would have no hesitation is requesting him again.
3. Marie in Merchandising - tiny gal from my birthplace, Canada. She was such a sweetheart, and at the end of the cruise I gave her one of the boxes of chocolates I had saved for our stateroom host (we didn't care for him too much, so no gift for him). She gave me a "Magical Moment", and I will be writing a letter to
DCL about her.
4. Stingray Swim at CC - eh. Not as good as we have done in the past (this was our third). We used to be able to feed the stingrays numerous times, this time only twice. The handlers doing the feeding/teaching for our group were not very friendly nor did they seem to enjoy what they were doing. Doubt we will do it again.
5. Stateroom host - eh. We have had better. He did his job, but he didn't do anything but his job, and even then, our tub was not cleaned everyday, cups never washed or brought in new ones - just left by the sink, asked for extra soaps (because no one likes to use the other person's soap, and we have always received extra soap when requested), left a tip for the extra soaps, received one extra soap. He said Disney doesn't like him going downstairs to get extra soaps for cabins. I thought the tip was supposed to cover it, but if Disney the parent company is being stingy with soap, I am disappointed.
6. Saw Believe, really liked it, Dh teared up, I shed a few, but still love Dream the best. Something about Tinkerbell flying over the ship at the end just gets to me in Dream.
7. Food - wow, portions shrank! Not that it is a problem ordering extra if you really like something, and there certainly was less waste than with previous cruise meals, but yup, portions were smaller. Would have liked a bigger piece of Tilapia, personally. Mario did keep the scallops coming, though!
Overall, I liked the Dream, but the Magic is still my favorite, probably because it was our first (we were on it during 9/11, so it really is a vivid cruise in our memories). I am sorry we never met up at the meeting spot, we were there but somehow missed everyone else. Still, we were very busy, not enough sleep at all, but many great memories to treasure.
Thanks for helping in the preparations, and perhaps we shall meet someday in the future!
