July 5th Dream

Because I will be busy all day doing nothing but working in my yard (yes, I enjoy doing undisturbed work in my garden on Mother's Day!), I wanted to wish all the ladies a wonderful day! Plus, I want to show off what my DH made for me! He knows me so well!

Off to church, hope the sun is shining for everyone today!

Happy Mother's Day to you all too!
luvavacation - that is really cool that you're husband actually MADE that! Is it on your car? I can't really tell from the picture, but it looks great!

So yesterday I spent almost 5 hours planting, and now my back hurts. At least my yard looks great with all the flowers! Hopefully everyone else had a great day!

marhs - Yup, DH made that, it is trailer receiver cover. I was so excited when I took the picture, I didn't realize how dirty my car was! But I now get to drive around with a Minnie Mouse head attached to the rear of my car, and hopefully people notice that instead of my dirty car.

Lark - The Entertainment Book is a great idea, I am using a coupon in it for my rental car, too. If you don't have a book, I believe they are only $12 today! Or if you need some coupons, I can mail you the ones I am not using. Just PM me if you think that will work for you.

I would love to book another cruise while onboard, but with my girls getting so old, I don't know when we would ever go. I suppose I could book a dummy date and just keep moving it with the hope that I take my grandchildren someday. With the way prices are going on DCL, I will definitely be needing that 10% discount! I really think, though, that this will be my family's last Disney Cruise for a long time, which means I will really be crying when I get off the ship at the end of our cruise.

This will most likely be our last time at Disney World, too, for a long time. My eldest is going to be living off campus year round now (once she is done with her Disney Intership) and getting a job in the Entomology Department, my youngest will be in college in two years, and it is time to stop assuming they will always be available to take family vacations. The thought of going to a place like Disney without them, after all the wonderful memories, just makes me sad. I have pictures and video of them through the years at Disney, and it is the one vacation place where we have seen them grow up from one visit to the other.

This vacation will be so bittersweet for me. You all understand, right? Those that have been touched by the magic of Disney will know what I mean, everyone else will just think I am a sappy mess!

Finally, I have to smile at my DH. Not only did he make me a wonderful Minnie head:lovestruc, he also told me to book whatever I wanted for the cruise, since he has been working so much overtime and I have been stressed with my mom and need some extra pampering. Of course, he tells me this now, when the only thing I would want to book is a Cabana. Silly man, he just doesn't understand how these travel things work! Little does he know how much work goes into making a vacation run smoothly - he just shows up and has fun! I love my DH, but his sense of timing is just not working for me!

Hey, at least I won't feel guilty buying a D&B DCL purse (if I like it in person!)!

Check out mousesavers.com they have codes for many different companies. Also if you have an entertainement book you can find great deals.

Hi -- thanks. Yes, I like the codes at mousesavers. But I think the best savings come on rental cars when the companies drop their rates for a given period, which can happen if they are not selling to expectations. It happens at random times, usually starting around 60 days out. Sometimes, they only drop for a brief period, so I was sort of hoping that if anyone snagged a good rate they could post a heads up that rates have gone down.

luvavacation -- you brought a tear to my eye as this will probably be my son's and mine last trip to Disney as well, until the grandkids! I have been thinking about one last trip next year after he graduates but since he will be 18 he will be too old for the teen places and too young for the adult venues so he won't enjoy it as much:mad: I will join you in the sappy cryfest as we leave the ship:sad:

Hi -- thanks so much. Just noticed this very kind offer. We have the entertainment book, so I'll take a look tonight. Thanks again!

Good morning all!! Less than 60 days...WOW!!!! Are any of you wonderful fellow cruisers doing a pre-trip report? I would love to read it if you are!! Hope all you moms had a wonderful Mother's Day!

luvavacation...LOVE your receiver cover...soooo cute!!!!

Ok...here's a silly question...where do you get the entertainment books? I think I would like to have one!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Princess Bette, try this link to order an Entertainment Book -

http://www.entertainment.com/discount/home.shtml

I believe the books are $12 until midnight tonight.

Also, sometimes I see the books at the bookstore or at Walgreens, but they are always full price. I like to order online since the price is usually better - I am cheap that way! :)

By the way, been thinking of you guys, and wondering how is the clean-up going in your neighbourhood? Has there been help arriving for you area?

Thanks for the link - just ordered my book at the $12 price which includes free shipping!
As far as the clean-up goes, it is going to be a long road for many in our area. I rode by several sites today and it still looks like a war zone, literally. The roads are mostly cleared now. Now there are piles of trees and debris by the roadside - some are being hauled away and some are being burned. Help has been arriving...FEMA has been here and all counties surrounding us are included in the disaster that they are supporting. Tide (the laundry detergent) has been not far from here doing the "Loads of Hope" - washing clothing (for free!) that people have managed to salvage. The National Guard is here as well, which adds to the "war zone" look. Power companys from as far north as Michigan came and helped restore power to most areas. I know some places still are without, but the work continues. The devastation is so much that words just fail me. You really have to see it first hand to understand. The tv images are just that...images. Anyway, thanks for the thoughts...I know that the ones directly affected are very appreciative.
I am so glad that the cruise is almost here...really need a vacation!!

My husband likes good beer. Do you guys think we need to bring some ourselves? Miller ANYTHING is not going to cut it for him.

My husband likes good beer. Do you guys think we need to bring some ourselves? Miller ANYTHING is not going to cut it for him.

i found this:
Beer Onboard
Draught
Yuengling, Michelob Ultra, Samuel Adams, Guinness, Stella, Heineken, Miller and Budweiser.

Bottled
Miller, Budweiser, Bud Light, Bud Light with Lime, Grolsch, Coopers Pale Ale, Amstel Light, Guinness, Heineken, Harp lager, Newcastle Brown Ale.

The Goverment taxes/fees went down for our cruise! I noticed a credit on my Disney Visa today for $2.58. Every little bit helps. That can go towards my Drink of the day:thumbsup2

Tequilamamacita, I believe there may also be a Beer Tasting activity on board, at least there was on the last cruise we were on. My DH signed up for it, but then it was was cancelled. Perhaps, if there is a Beer Tasting on this cruise, we can have both our husbands sign up, then us ladies can go to the pool deck, lay in the sun, and taste test all the special drinks that the pool bartenders are carrying around. This works for me!:goodvibes

Bette, it is good to know that help is there. The American desire to help those in need is always impressive.

I am very proud to be Hungarian, I love my homeland, but Europeans tend to be more suspicious of generously helping anyone in need, including their own countrymen. After all, if there is a flood in Miskolc, the help doesn't come so easily from out of town for those affected, since you might accidently help a Gypsy, and no one wants that! Americans don't make those distinctions in times of tragedy, and that is something that other countries can not figure out about the people here.

Ok, enough of my ramblings. You all are truly going to be avoiding me - you think I talk alot now? Wait until I have a Mojito! Party time!

So yesterday, I read my first trip report on the Dream. I have been avoiding trip reports, because I know what happens to me, and it isn't pleasant. Have you ever seen a little child just bursting with excitement, hopping around and giddy and asking, "how much longer, how much longer"? Well, add a few years and a few many pounds, and that would be me. It ain't pretty! My dog thought she needed to protect me from myself!

And in less than 3 weeks, I will be taking my youngest to go see my eldest down in FL! I am so excited to see her! She is sad about leaving the Internship program at Epcot the end of June, but happy to be coming home again to see her cat and dog, and we think maybe her family, too. I mentioned to her that some people from our cruise might have questions for her about the Internship program at Disney, and she would be thrilled to talk about it. In fact, she was thinking of being the Disney Internship Ambassador at her college!

I am so glad my daughter has loved the whole "Disney Experience". She still isn't tired of Disney, which just goes to show that I have raised a girl that enjoys happiness and levity in her life! I just know she will let me take my future grandchildren to Disney, and she will probably join us! Now I must continue working on the younger daughter...

And in 7 weeks, we will be driving from our stay at Cape San Blas to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Or maybe I will be doing a morning beach walk, considering it is still early right now. Either way, this is what I do - anticipate what I will be doing in the future! Am I the only crazy person that does this? Don't care - oh so excited! :yay:
