A coworker of mine is planning a trip over the holiday weekend. She arrives on July 1 and checks out on July 5th. This is a short and sweet trip and the first for her DD age 6 and her DS age 8. Her 16 year old brother will also be along for the trip. She wants one day at a waterpark. She wants 2 park days. She wants a character meal too. She also wants a day to shop and a night out with her mother who will just come up to party for the night. What do you think I should tell her about what to do? I want her to have the best impression possible of WDW, but she's going at a really heavy crowd and high heat time. I'm afraid that she is going to be miserable.

Check out what I am planning to suggest and feel free to offer any suggestions. Thanks! Maggie

I think on the 4th of July I would do Epcot. They usually have awesome fireworks with more than a regular night. Larger Park--crowd impact should not be as bad.

We were ar MGM last year on the forth. Crowds were very managable (most were at MK) Sat in front of the socerer hat for Fantasy. Sounds like a great plan. :cool1:

I think you are sooooo right to send them to DS-MGM for the 4th as the Sorcery in the Sky is so rarely performed.

Magic Kingdom on the 4th, even though the fireworks can be spectacular, it is a total zoo. We did it once several years ago and NEVER again. It was wall to wall people. It did not make for a nice day at all.

Also remind your co-worker to not leave the Park on the 4th as she may not be able to return.

While I would say that I would choose Epcot for that night, knowing my coworker and her kids, that would be a total dud day for them. This trip is all about the kids. Her daughter is all about the princesses and her son is all about the cars, stunt stuff, and learning how things work....like animation. This all makes MGM the second park of choice for this short trip. Thanks for the thought though. Maggie

Since you were there, are is the hat area a good place to be for Sorcery in the Sky? I have no point of reference, since I have not been able to catch this show at MGM. TIA Maggie

I would love to see Sorcery in the Sky! When I saw that they have it on the calendar, I was so shocked, but wow, what a great way to end July 4th!

I think that my coworker and her kids are going to have a blast at WDW, as long as I can keep getting golden suggestions like these. Maggie
