July 4th Pins . . .When, Where, How

We were there July 4th week 2002 and unfortunately we arrived on July 4th and by the time we got into the parks all the special pins were sold out.

This year we'll be getting there July 2nd. Anyone know if the July 4th pins are put out a day or two before the 4th or is it an actual race to find them on July 4th?

I think I may have an extra set of those pins lying around if you still need them. LMK, and I'll see if I can dig them out for you...

Last year the easiest place to get them was first thing at the CR at the pin stand. No lines, and they had plenty of pins. We went to AK that day to avoid the crowds, and only had to wait in line about 5-10 minutes for pins. Therewas a pretty good selection there as well, and this was not right at park opening. When we arrived the line for pins was huge, so we came back in a few hours. We didn't go to MK that day, so I'm not sure what the pin situation was there. We went to Epcot for the evening, and all the special 4th of July pins were gone. Have fun on your trip-we loved being there for the 4th!
