I am booked on the July 4th, 2006 cruise. From past 4th cruisers have they done anything out of the ordinary to celebrate the 4th??

We were on the Wonder on July 4th, 2002. The sail away party had to be held indoors due to lightning. As soon as we did the countdown and Celebration started playing, there was a red, white, and blue balloon drop. The kids all popped the balloons and some of them had prizes in them. I would guess they would have had that anyway, at another time, had the party not been indoors.
Dinner that night was the regular menu, plus they added some "American" favorites, like ribs and fried chicken. The waiters and waitresses also paraded around the restaurant to "Youre A Grand Old Flag" waving flags. A nice speech was made and everyone was given a free champange toast. We were able to keep the glasses(plastic) that had the DCL logo and the date on them.

We went July 4th 2004. It was the same as the previous post. Mickey and Minnie were dressed in special red, white and blue outfits. It was very festive. Everything was patriotic. They also did the balloon drop. Had a huge cake on display and we got to keep the plastic cup used for the toast. Even the children got one with sparkling juice.
