We went to WDW for 4 days last year right before Xmas (12/21-12/24), 2 adults plus a one year old. We are thinking of a last minuit trip to DL over the July 4th weekend, 2 adults and now a 2 year old.

We went to DL a few years ago on Xmas day, it was bearable for us. However, it was a trip without a young kid.

would anyone be able to help me with the following questions?

1. how does 7/4 crowd compares to Xmas time?

2. For Toy story mania at WDW last year, fastpass was gone by 11am and wait is usually around 60-90 min. How does the wait time look at DL? When does the FP ran out during the busy times?

3. We are thinking of going CA adventure on Sat 7/4, and DL(MK) on Sunday 7/5. Is this a good choice or should we reverse?

4. If we stay at a hotel within walk distance to the park, say a place across from the entrance, would there always be a traffic jam if we decide to drive to somewhere during day. Any advise on where to stay that's walking distance, and easy to get out of the area?

Thank you very much.

4th of July gets pretty busy. It's mid-summer, and this year it is a Saturday. Compared to Christmastime? Well, I guess I would say busier than some days during the holidays, but not as bad as NYE.

There is no FP for TSMM at DLR. The wait can vary. Last Saturday around 2pm. There was a 30 minute wait. There have been times when it is much longer. It's a popular attraction.

If your goal is to avoid crowds, that is probably your best plan, as it appears that they are doing the holiday fireworks show on several nights this year. HOWEVER, if you leave the fireworks until the 5th, if they are canceled due to wind, you will miss out completely. If you do DL on the 4th and the fireworks are canceled due to wind, you could always watch them from outside Disneyland on the 2nd night. Just something to consider if the fireworks are important to you.

To answer your first question, no, not really. As for recommendations, I am going to let others answer that as I live locally and would only be passing on 2nd-hand advice.
