July 4...PTN or WOC?

So... we currently have reservations for the WOC dessert party and BB PTN. My original plan was to do the BB package, then watch the fireworks, seeing's the park will be crowded, but it looks like our reservation at 7 means we will have the second PTN parade. Reviews for the preferred viewing seem pretty mixed. So I'm wondering if we should try and see PTN on Sunday night ( the day we arrive, with or without a package), and go for the WOC party on 4 July.

We only have a short trip this time, and it's just two (tall) adults, so we'd be ok with winging PTN/fireworks, even if it is busy. We also want to park hop between DL and DCA, and I guess I'm concerned we will face the problem of a capacity DL at some point.

Advice please! I'd like to hand in my spare reservation so someone else can take it up!

Have you looked into the Aladdin's Oasis package? It's more flexible and if you book pick-up before a certain time you get the first PTN. You can stay in the exact same spot and watch the fireworks. We got curbside parade viewing and a great view of Small World/fireworks. I liked it as much as watching from Main St.

I imagine Disneyland will be the busier park on July 4th, so it might be nice to do WOC that night. Even if it's sold out, WOC dessert party is awesome. I LOVED it.

BB was under refurbishment when we were there, so I wasn't able to book the package and can't comment on the viewing area.

That's very helpful...I'm leaning towards WOC dessert for 4 July, and will look into Aladdin's.Thanks!

I was initially very bummed when we couldn't get Blue Bayou, but I ended up being super happy with our other choice. At Aladdin's we could pick up our food early if we wanted, it was decent food although nothing spectacular. I remembered reading that the meals booked for pickup before 3 were the first parade - something like that. I haven't been to the Blue Bayou viewing area, but we did camp out with fried chicken from the plaza and waited for a spot to watch PTN from Main St one night, which was neat. The Aladdin's area has elevated seating but also curbside down facing Small World. Once the parade ends, the people across from the Aladdin's area have to disperse back behind a rope, but curbside people in the reserved section can stay, and are out in front the rope closer to small world. We got to sit and watch the projections and fireworks. It's a great view. I would have paid the 29 bucks or whatever lunch was just for that convenience.

Out of curiosity, how many days are you there total?

Just two...we're tacking it on to another trip (we're from overseas). But Aladdin's sounds like a good plan. Looking forward to this flying visit anyway.
