July 31 2008 Disney Wonder Roll Call 07/31/08

Hi everyone!

I doubt we'll get upgraded either, we booked a specific cabin number. It's one of those "secret porthole" cabins. We are not staying in Port Canaveral, we'll be coming from WDW. The cruise is actually the end of a 10-day trip for us (3 days Universal, 4 days WDW, 3 day cruise).

tngal - are you and your family staying in PC the night before? Are ya'll flying or driving?

mizcolon - our Palo reservations are same night and time! Did you get the tips?

Not much longer till we sail!!!

Hi!! Yes, we're staying at the Radisson Resort at the Port the night before. We're driving down on the 30th, it'll be about a 10 hr drive for us, but DH refuses to fly, plus our oldest DD is special needs and has a lot of issues with anxiety, so she wouldn't do well on a flight either.

We booked a Cat.5 room, I think on deck 7, so i doubt we'll see any upgrades either, even thought it would be wonderful to get there and find out we have a suite lol.

Maybe we should all wear a big sticker on our shirts so we could recognize one another lol (just j/k) I can't wait to get out on the ocean! it will be my kids and both my dd's first cruise and first time seeing the ocean. It will be my 2nd cruise.

We are driving in from Atlanta, so we will be staying at the Sheraton Cocoa Beach, the day before...

I Think I changed Palo to Friday night, since I saw that its alotgoing on for Sat evening on the cruise...

I am soooooooooo excited!!! Disney stores are having 50% off sales, I think I brought EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I am hoping for a upgrade but wont be bummed if I dont get!!

Have you completed your online check-in? The last DCL cruise that we took did not offer online check-in, I think it's a great idea and I hope it will speed up the boarding process.

I printed out some door magnets for our cabin with all our names on them. We used some on our last cruise (Royal Caribbean) and it really helped to find our room because all those doors really look alike!

What excursions have you booked? We actually have not booked any. We've been to Nassau so many times that we decided to stay on the ship and enjoy everything the Wonder has to offer while most of the other guests are gone. Castaway Cay is our favorite place on earth and we want to just relax and enjoy the beach, oh, and we'll definitely snorkel!

LOL..didnt mean to make you jealous ...they arrived by UPS. There was the luggage tags, a ticket booklet which basically had the same stuff you fill out online and a last minute checklist thing.

I did the online check-in the day i made and paid for the trip lol. Got all the info entered and signed up the girls for the oceaneer club and lab. As far as excursions, we've not signed up for any. I've been to Nassau before but my DH and girls have not, so I opted to do our own tour. Thats what my friend and I ended up doing last time and it was a lot better to go at your own pace and a lot cheaper too!!

How did you do your own door magnet? The doors do all look alike and the hallways seem never-ending almost! That would be a good idea! What deck/category are you?

Looking forward to possibly meeting everyone, not much longer...can you tell im excited..im counting down the days!!

Hey Lisa!

I sent a PM (Private Message) to "imtooexcitedtosleep" and he personalized the clipart with our names and I printed them out onto magnet paper. Ours look like Disney name tags. You can do anything you want, people get very creative with it. I just wanted something basic to help ID our door and to add a little excitement for the kids! Let me know if I can help you anymore.

It really is fun talking with someone who is as excited as I am about the trip!

LOL, I am definitely excited!!! I am worse than a little kid sometimes I think. My DH and I have been married for 15 yrs and have never been able to take the whole family on a "real" vacation until now. My oldest DD is special needs and it was always hard for us to be away extended amounts of time, but she has finally got on a "even Keel" now and It just so happened that I also won my disability claim, so I had the money to do something!! Hopefully we will all have the opportunity to get together or do something while onboard!!

Just noticed where you are from. We lived in Marietta when i was a kid for a few yrs. Its been a long time since i've been down that way, but you're not far from me! Small world huh? Looking forward to setting sail!!!

Hey all cruisers!! My mother, father and I will be sailing the Wonder on July 31st!! We called Disney to book a cruise for next spring but the nice guy on the phone told us that we could sail on this cruise for pretty cheap with our Florida Resident discount.. so we booked and are really looking forward to the cruise!!

This is our 2nd Disney cruise and last time we didn't make any door signs or anything exciting but this year we are going to. I went out to home depot yesterday and "borrowed" a bunch of Mickey Head paint chips--we are still deciding what to do with them!

We haven't received anything in the mail yet (since we signed up later) and I'm getting kinda nervous. But I'm trying not to stress--too excited about sailing with Mickey on the high seas!

Just wanted to stop by and check in! See you all soon!

Hi! and Welcome! Are you counting down the days like I am? This will be our first Disney cruise, but it will be my husband (35) and 2 DD's (10 and 4)first cruise and My (33) 2ndl. Looking forward to "seeing" you!

We were at the Animal Kingdom Lodge from July 2nd till the 9th, and our documents came the day after we returned. Saturday we got that trip planning packet, too. Woohoo! I just got my stuff in the mail.

One of the cruise tips that I was so glad I did was to bring name/address return label stickers so on the last night you can use them on your luggage tags. Saves a few precious minutes of your cruise!

Be sure to register online and remember to print out the pages that you are instructed to and bring them with you. If you forget, and don't have them in hand when you check in, you'll have to fill out forms and it takes forever!

Have you figured out by now that I absolutely hate to fill out forms!

We're flying in Wednesday night, just to be on the safe side, spending the night at Old Key West, and then it's off to the Wonder. I am too excited!

Well, I hate to brag but.. we got upgraded (one category)! Before we had an inside stateroom and now we have an ocean view. We're very excited. I hope the rest of you magically get upgraded!!
