July 30, 2010 Mickey's Adventures England to Espana Cruise

First of all: WELCOME to all the new cruisers !
And yes: travel costs to the port are not so big: we just booked our "ferry crossing" from Calais in France (we live about one hour from there in Belgium) to Dover: just € 55,- for the 3 of us...

Hi

Oh wow, ferry crossing to Dover...

Are u ferry on same date?

Good Morning

I am hoping to do some research on Vigo today, does not appear to be many ships that stop here, anyone care to share their plans for Vigo.

Vigo is an industrial port. There are some nice beaches nearby eg Praia de Samil which Disney will probably run an excursion to.
Here is a website to the city's attractions

http://www.vigo.com/v/attractions/

This talks about boat rides to Islas Cies which sounds lovely to do and some of the other beaches
Vigo is near Compostella DeSantiago which is where we are planning to go if Disney runs excursion there. It will be a long coach ride and I am sure your DDs wont be interested in this. Mines been over ridden for this port!:rotfl2:
Hope this helps

Maybe Sevilla? My father was stationed in Sevilla while serving in the USAF. I was born there and have had an opportunity to visit on a previous trip. The city is beautiful with the Royal Palace and Cathredral. The people are very friendly, food is great, as is the wine and beer. Strolling around the large city parks is a local past time. Great place to visit!

Yes you are right I googled it!

Sevilla’s Giralda, Alcazar and Old Quarter Walking tour (with transportation from Cadiz) (Full Day Private Tour)Edit This
On this full-day private shore excursion you will be taken on a guided walking tour of Sevilla's most important monuments...

Sevilla is one of Spain's major cities and is also the capital of the Andalusia region. It is full of narrow streets, small plazas and beautiful parks and gardens. Sevilla became a great city in Muslim times and became one of the wealthiest cities in Europe during the 16th century when it was an important trading post. On this full-day private shore excursion you will be taken on a guided walking tour of Sevilla's most important more..

We spent a week in Sevilla and did not even come close to seeing it all. Sounds like a great day trip and hits all the highlights. It is a beautiful city!

185 Days to go - Woo Hoo!

Welcome aboard new cruisers.

We also opted for this cruise as a way to get a Disney fix without the transatlantic flight - we loved our Magic cruise last summer - in all honesty we really wanted to be on the last Baltic cruise and although DH teaches they had training days at the end of term which they have done as evening sessions throughout the year so they can finish early so we could have gone for those but they were VERY expensive plus the ports would have called for very expensive excursions too so we opted for this one and are looking forward it very much!

Oh wow 185 days :cheer2::cheer2::dance3:

We booked the Baltic but unfortunatley we realised that we cannot afford it as it was far too expensive... that why we changed over to this cruise because we love magic Cruise.... We feel a bit disappointed but we are happy to be on this Cruise... Baltic look great but heard Russia and Sweden are very very expensive....

I was reading about Baltic/Med. and noticed that there will be no fireworks but I don't know about our Cruise as it will be dark in night?

I think it is only the northern european i.e. Baltic cruises which will be firework less (well alaska as well)

I think someone posted that it may be the Cadiz night for the pirates night.

Morning all - hope everyone is having a great weekend

25 weeks and 6 days til our cruise :)

It is cold here in Suffolk UK and we had a bit of snow overnight. I am so done with winter now, I am already for spring and t shirts and not getting that horrible too cold to get out of bed feeling!

We have still not told our little girls that we are cruising again - granted the little one who was two a couple of weeks ago would not really "get it" but our 4 and a half year old still talks loads about "Mickeys Special Boat" and our cruise last year. She is going to be soooooo excited to cruise again but if possible I want to keep it a secret until the last minute - maybe even til we get to the port!

Anyone else keeping a big cruising secret from their kids?
