July 30, 2009 Wonder

Just booked this cruise today. They still had all categories available (well, 4-11 at least) Couldn't decide what to book

Hope to bump in to one of you on the ship! :goodvibes

there is a teen only excursion on CC

if you check your res # on the DCL site it will say whether you still have just a GTY cabin-or if a cabin has been assigned to you yet

I have booked a handicapped room. I have rheumatoid arthritis which caused me some significant problems on the last cruise so I want to be prepared this time.

we almost booked my parents a handicapped room last time since my mom needed a wheelchair--Have you stayed in one before? I will be interested to hear your feed back.

looks like a few more are on here-they posted on the forums thread about the Disney channel stars on the Wonder. I knew that out of the disboards we could not just have 2 or 3 groups going. I always wonder what percentage of people onboard have used the dis. I just took a survey when I was on the DCL site and they asked if I used the dis or allears to obtain DCL info. I was surprised by that question

we have never done a 3 night cruise--will they show the new G Force movie-out the end of July on the cruise. On the Magic they did show UP and the Proposal?

I will take some pictures. I have never needed one before. I really just need it for the bathroom amenities.

I'm really curious what movies they will show too. :goodvibes

We had a Cat 4 booked, but then my 6 year old was freaking out about going on the ship. The trip was PIF and she is claiming to not want to go. :scared1:

She developed a fear of water last time we were at Disney and my husband kinda forced her down the slide at the CBR pool. So long-story-short she is now staying home with Grandma to be doted on for 4 nights. I'm very sad that the whole family will not be together but also happy that my older daughter will have our undivided attention (grandma offered to watch 2-year old nutboy too) My older daughter is so used to her younger sibs getting all the attention that I feel like she really deserves this. We were all at Disney celebrating my 6-yr-old's birthday in May so I don't feel as guilty leaving her behind- not that I had the option cause she truly doesn't want to come. It will be bittersweet I guess.

So we downgraded the Cat 4 to a Cat 6. I'm excited to be sailing for the first time in an outside cabin. :goodvibes I did a 3-night in March in a Cat 11 on a business trip, so this should be super.

I wanted to save money and do the 11 but DH is afraid to not have any horizon and natural light as he has never cruised and is expecting the worst.

Hey Hey...

We are booked July 30th as well!
I know that the Sailing with the summer Stars is not as popular as they thought it was going to be - that is why they extended the 50% for kids and then BIG onboard credit and That still isn't working.
They put great deal out for TA and that is what we are booked on - try to peak up the attendance on the ships. I was on the phone as soon as they opened... and it was still a 30 min wait so I think they got a lot of bookings from it so it will be filling up. I know there are so far 3 families of us booked and hopefully 2 more tomorrow! Good chance for public to get some upgrades!! Be sure to note it on your reservations!

Missing'Disney-
I think we can just stick out DH in a room together and save some money! I am bummed The little boys won't be able to play but totally understand! Can't wait to go! The kids are getting so excited!
DD is so excited to play with your - same age and she is so excited!:cheer2:

I never heard of noting on your res that you were interested in an upgrade-is that usually done? Is that for if they offer discounted upgrades closer to sailing-or for free upgrades?

I think these were not as populare because the stars-other than Corbin-are not that big-plus they keep changing them-at first they had 2 others listed for this cruise that have disappeared. For a 3 night it is not inexpensive. I just don't get why they can't make it a little more affordable rather than deep discounts for Florida residents and TAs. Okay-so I am jealous-we do not ever qualify for any discount. The 10% they give you for booking onboard is okay-but could not be combined with any of the onboard credits offered so we are losing out a little.

well no upgrade for us-but I did not expect one-I had hoped for deck 6, but we got 5. I will still hope to upgrade at the port, but if great discounts are being offered with my luck nothing will be available

They tend to give the upgrades to FUll paying I think before discounted trips.. lol

I know when we went in March they upgraded rooms like crazy to general public and we were in a Cat 11- didn't care too much - it was still a DC right! :)

well we paid full price( the 10% we got off is nothing compared to mil anf Fla discounts) and no upgrade and no $300 balcony credit since we booked onboard

Just note that when you check in that you have sailed on the DCL many times and have never gotten a upgrade.... DIsney works MAGIC on the Wonder!

I just cant wait to sip a drink and watch that blue water on castaway...and have my kids nowhere close to us!...we are doing 7 days at CSR before going on ship and using cruise to unwind.....:woohoo:

If you want to post who is cruising with you here-or pm it to me I will start a cruise list on the first post on page one. Some people like to include cabin number--but that is usually when there is a FE gift exchange and also early or late dining and where you are from. I will leave it up to everyone how much information they would like to share.
