Our family is so excited....we are traveling with 17! We are trying to find good flights from NY too.....Anyone book yet? What airlines - any deals? We are debating flying into seattle and taking a rental car...but are worried about the border crossing:confused3

Any suggestions? How are you getting to the port?

We are flying from Pa right into Vancouver. We haven't booked our hotel yet. I am hoping to stay close to the port and just use public transportation while we are there.
If you rent a car, you might want to check with your insurance company. I know when we drove to Canada years ago that we needed something special from our insurance to prove we were covered.

We're booked for our 2nd Disney cruise, first Alaska trip for all of us!! My family (me, DH, DD7 & DS3) will be traveling with my DH's family (his parents, sister, BIL, Nephew10 & niece7). Any excursion suggestions? All of the kids' birthdays are in April and May, if that makes any difference.

Welcome!

Flying from Newark to Vancouver. Plane is scheduled to arrive at 10:49AM in Vancouver. Hoping that gives us enough time to get to the ship and explore a little bit before we cast off. What time do they usually start boarding? :cheer2:

It depends on the port arrival time that you can get. We have usually been on the ship by 12:00. We like to get on as soon as we can so that we can enjoy the ship. Cabins are usually ready by 1:30.

Our DD is 14. On the Disney website, I noticed that 14 year olds can go in either Vibe or Edge. Have any of your kids spent time in these clubs? Are they really very different? Would my DD be able to spend time in both clubs or would she have to pick one to stay in? Are Vibe and Edge really that different from each other in terms of acitivities?

I noticed there are several other 14 year olds on the fish extender list.

What club is your 14 year old planning to spend their time in?

Thanks for any info you can share.

My DD14 will actually turn 15 in a few weeks, so she will not have to figure that out; she'll be in Vibe. Sorry we can't help!

Just say you want to participate. :-)

Just need names, kids ages and cabin numbers.

I can't believe I'm less that 2 weeks away from being able to book excursions and PALO(!!!!).

Has anyone see the rumor about Pirate's Night being replaced by Pixar Night?

No, I have only heard about special Pixar cruises on the West Coast. That would be cool. Pirates in the Caribbean just doesn't work for me, when we are going to Alaska. But then again they had it going to Canada, which didn't make sense either.

Is there a way to figure out what movie will be played on our cruise - I think Pixar Planes is set to be released that week and I was wondering if anyone knew of the DCL history in showing the new films?

I know you can call DCL a few weeks before the cruise to get a movie list. Disney's Planes comes out August 9, so we won't be on board for that release, though.
Getting closer for booking excursions, etc (only silver castaway here, so not as close as some!)

Has anyone's port excursion booking window opened up yet? If so would you be so kind to look and tell me the times for the enchanted Taku lodge in Juneau. Just trying to see if there would be enough time for a second excursion that day. Thanks a million.

Tom, thanks for keeping the FE list up to date. My middle daughter just had a birthday, so Hannah is now DD15, if that matters to anyone.
Fun side note: My son is starting to research glaciers (third-graders in his school do their research paper/project on weather or landform topics of their choice). Should be fun!

We've been looking at any Junior Ranger programs on the drive up there and in any of the Ports. I'll let you know what we find out.

It's getting closer-I just booked my first excursion a floatplane trip to Misty Fjords with Island wings. Now just waiting on my booking window with Disney to open up.

Just saw on the Vancouver thread that there is a new attraction opening this Spring at the cruise terminal called fly over Canada. It looks awesome. Another thing to add to my list of things to do while we are there.
