Hi. We just returned from the 7/22/06 double dip (and a few days at WDW) and we booked this med cruise onboard so I thought I'd subscribe here and come back and read up when I'm a little less jet-lagged.

Has anyone checked their cruise rate recently on the dcl site? It has gone up quiet a bit.

Welcome back, highlights from the cruise???

We did Western with Helen...MrsJobba1!!! It was a great week...even though Eastern is our favorite. We had our DD-14, best friend join us. So all four kids had the best time. Friend said that there was something that would have made it better...it being a 14 day cruise!!!! Weather was nice...not too hot, but no wonderful sunsets...alot of haze. The crew as usual were wonderful! That is who really makes it for us. Did have a very poor room steward. But, we still had fun! Pirate party again a definite ball!! Spa was outstanding!! That is always one of my favorites!

DH and I leave in 3 weeks and 2 days on an Eastern on the Magic!!! That is always a good week! The school year is always chaos from running kids here and there, volunteering at the school, and coaching-me cheerleading and DH basketball. The summer is supposed to slow down...but I take all three kids to our home in central Florida. We have had someone staying with us almost every day this summer. My DH only got to come down a couple of times and then for the week cruise. So, by the time we return to the real world of Illinois....I am ready for some adult time! So why do we still choose DCL? We know it, we like it, and it works.

Haven't been on this thread in awhile. We returned last week from WDW, having met several of our Disney friends (that we met on last year's cruise) down in Disney for the w/e. We had such a blast in Disney. We did the Seqway tour (quite a riot) with our psycho Seqway Master, Jeff.

DD, Alex's last work day at WDW was yesterday, she was sad, but not too sad, because she knows she will be back for seasonal work. She has been down there since January, and has learned a lot about independence and responsibility. It has been an awesome experience for her. It was great to go down there with our Disney friend and get to spend time with her. She will be home tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping up with this board as much as I should be. I guess now it is less than 1 year, I should be reading and planning. Airfare should be out soon, so that will seal the deal, once we book. Still deciding if we will spend a few days in Europe before or after the cruise. JoAnn - Are you guys thinking of DL Paris, Micco said he would like to possibly do it.

We are also toying with the idea of doing a pre tour in London. So alot to check out. Waiting for some quotes. Angel

Yes, Debs, I am looking into a two day stay at DLP at the Disneyland Hotel with a scheduled daytrip into Paris and a one day trip to DLP. I'm going to try to book a multi-leg trip....JFK-CDG; CDG-BAR*; BAR-JFK. I called today and checked into using my DVC points and it's about 170 for the hotel there. Ken also wanted to see Paris. I'll let you know when it's time to book.....

I hope we hear soon from the rest of our group who've been away this month!

We're leaving tomorrow for 8 days at WDW. Then on to St. Augustine to move my son into a condo for his senior year at college. Once we get home we're taking my other son to college in New Jersey for his fresman year. We'll be moving him into a dorm. Ill need another vacation!

Disneymom13- The WDWD intern program is great. My older son's friend did it last year. He loved it and goes back to do the seasonal work. He's also a college rep for Disney.

I hope by the beginning of September we can book airfare.

Actually, the correct airport code for Barcelona is BCN, but I think most of us here will know what you mean with BAR.

We've booked this cruise when we were on the Magic last month with Pooh's Purple Pal (Hi Gail ). It will be me, DH, DS-14, DD-10 and my Mom. Looking forward to researching and planning a European trip.

Hi everyone,

I am back with my dd (sister, cousin and her dd). We had great weather (only poured once for 10 minutes). Tried Expedition Everest and the new water park ride (Gusher?) at Typhoon Lagoon. Both great. Tried the tame version (no spinning) of Mission Space. The ride itself was really tame but I will never go on it again. Once inside, they were experiencing technical difficulties. We were in there a while. Don't know how long. 10 minutes? maybe more. I was literally ready for a panic attack. I am good, but this was way too much time to be locked up inside and cold air blowing on our heads. OKW was absolutely beautiful and spotless as usual. Crowds were very managable.

We flew last night and since Thursday morning (news of plot), my dd was a wreck. She practically cried a day and half, made herself sick and held my hand for two days. She does not want to fly again.

Airport was not too bad. News, cameras and National Guard (?) at the airport. Randomly checked hand luggage before boarding plane. Still took many liquid items and make-up from people.

Someone was arrested on our flight as soon as we landed which we expected. Young man (30s) was drunk, punching chair, arguing with his companion (wife, girlfriend?), cursing and was determined to smoke.

All in all, it was a great trip. Let's see if I can convince my dd to fly. Now she does not want to come next year.

We are a group of 5 from just outside Chicago Illinois - myself (Mary Jo), DH, DS (will be 7 on the cruise), DM and DF. We are booked in second seating and are in 2 cabins on deck 5. This is the third DCL cruise for me, my DH, and DS and the second DCL cruise for my DM and DF.
Looking forward to getting to know my fellow DISers. I couldn't believe when I saw the map that was put together showing the location of all the DISers on the ship...this is going to be a big group!

As a side note: disneymagic316 - I noticed that you are booked in cabins that would have been right next to us. We were originally booked in cabins 5633 and 5637, but we have moved to the other side of the ship. We released the original cabins, so 5633 is now open. It was the room that was separating your party, so I'd thought I'd let you know that it is now open.
