OK - I guess I'm with the "cool" people now.

Oh yeah - guess that means I'm a talker too! Can't have it both ways -

or can I?

Thanks Tom - I was trying to go to sleep but it was a bit noisy - LOL - just as I was typing my low battery lite came on - I must of kicked out the line as I jumped for joy!

And as for how pathetic I am - I actually resorted to icing down my laptop with a frozen ice pack to cool it down. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Who cares - it cooled it off enough for me scroll just a bit faster. :rotfl2:

Okay, that's funny!!

And now I'm REALLY going to bed.

NITE!

Congrats, Laura. :woohoo:

The fact that you will be asleep all day tomorrow is a worth sacrifice. :lmao:

I'll be up by 11 or 11:30 - thanks ;) Night Mary Jo!

Well done Laura, I just don't have Helen's Timing

But you got all those pretty 9's - dressed to the nines don't they say that?

OK Lynn - be safe and try and have a stressless day! Happy Birthday Keith! Bye you two!

You're so funny Laura....

Ice to cool your computer!

AND on top of that your notebook had a power warning from being unplugged! THAT IS THE SAME as my situation. I am on an older notebook with a battery that barely holds any charge - and if I unplug it from the wall - the battery lasts a hand full of minutes at best!

Once again - congrats - you're technically the Sneakiest of SNEAKY Pirates with the 10,000th thread posting! What notariety!!!

Well.... it's been fun visiting and witnessing a spirited sprint for the 10,000the posting! So - with this thought I bid one and all a pleasant good evening from California! AND pleasant days to come as you all wrap up your travel plans for this wonderful voyage to come on the 28th! I gotta get some sleep! = G'nite folks!!!

If you missed it elsewhere good post on Flights home:-

I have seen people show their itinierary so they can disembark early - it's good to for everyone to know - we can relax a bit. Our flight is at 10:55 am.

We are flying Continental - scary - no signs, no help. Maybe we should be prepared and go straight to terminal B.

(okay, I tried to highlight the whole post by Andrew - only his portion came up?:confused3 )

Okay, here are pics of the Black Pearl.

Here it is in Redondo Beach. They would sail it to the cove where Marineland used to be, and then sail back to Redondo Beach. People say that the stars, especially Johnny Depp, were very generous with signatures for the fans.

I had gone to Redondo Beach, and then when I saw the BP I called Kelly at home & asked her if she wanted to see it. She jumped. So here she is taking a pic of it.

This is what I had posted earlier about the Black Pearl when it was in San Pedro:

I heard the Black Pearl was in town, so my ds, Nick, & I went to go check it out. (Thanks for the tip, minnietoo)

We took these from above Cabrillo Beach

We decided to see if we could actually get close to the Black Pearl, and after driving to a couple of marinas, finally found it, but this is the closest we could get to it.

Afterwards we took a couple more shots from the Cabrillo Marina area.

Here are some shots we took while driving around.

Cabrillo Beach with the Black Pearl in the distance (to the left in the far distance is the dome where they used to have the Spruce Goose & to the left of that is the Queen Mary, Long Beach. Long Beach is really close to San Pedro.

Cabrillo beach and the breakwater that keeps the waves from the Los Angeles Harbor in San Pedro.

This is the coastline off of the Palos Verdes Peninsula looking towards Point Fermin & the LA Harbor beyond. (You can't see it from here, but Trump's golf course is there, too - anyone who saw the first year of the Apprentice might remember that the winner had the choice of working on this golf course or a building back east).

This is looking towards Point Vicente & Catalina Island in the background. Down below is the former site of Marineland (you can still see the giant white water spouts that marked the entrance to the drive there if you look very closely right behind the spanish tiled rooftops). There used to be a statue of Bubbles the whale there, too. I heard that the set for the fort was down there, so we droved down where the empty lot is. At the end is a drive that goes down to the shore, but there was a no trespassing sign, so we didn't drive down it. I didn't want to get into trouble. We did see some fresh palm trees on the ground, though. hmmmm

It is a really beautiful day here today, in the high 70's by the beach. I love Southern California :sunny:

Absolutely beautiful pictures MaryJo. Southern California looks heavenly too.

Silly question, is this Black Pearl the one that is now at castaway cay?

OK ALL - here's a poem I saw and just had to buy from Knott's Berry Farm yesterday.

A Family Of Friends

You'll find there's a family
of friends living here,
A small group of minds,
and of hearts;
With some of us clever
and some of us not,

At times you can't tell us apart.
There's one who is cranky and
one who is shy,
And one who is really uncouth;
And just when you think
you've discovered who's who,
You'll really uncover the truth.

The truth that we're
all just a little of each,
A group of imperfects are we.
And sometimes I might
criticize them to you,
But, don't ever knock them to me.

'Cause the one thing
that ties us together for life
No matter how far we're apart,
Is love for each other,
a family of friends,
A small group of minds,
and of hearts.

So true. Lovely poem.

:::sigh:::: I do think the Brits are going to take it this round. They're letting us rack up the post count & one of them will swoop in :p .

Personally, I think Helen has rigged up the 'puter so that when it comes within 10 posts her alarm goes off.

Then we have the "unassuming" Anna, who just seems to "happen" upon these posts just at the right time... and don't leave off JoAnn (the Provider) and Harole Ann - they have an instinct for these things.

I'm afraid I won't be able to hang, as I've been up since before 5am, and it's already almost 2am. Dark circles are becoming quite the look for as of late (darn it).

I am cracking up Mary Jo - no, it won't be me. Is already 6:49 am as I am typing, replying and trying to catch up. I am on page 665, # 9965 - don't know where my few last replies are ending up. I am sure someone got it and I am dying to find out. What time did it reach 10,000? I am being patient and trying to reply as I go along.

Will congratulate the winner any minute. :goodvibes

Laura I wasn't lurking I was catching up;) , then I went to book some cinema tkts, taking hubby to see Shrek 3 tonight it's his b/day tomorrow and we were supposed to be going away but with everything that's happening in my life right now we cancelled but I'm treating him tonight

Happy Birthday to your hubby today

And, so to keep sort of on topic. We've been talking about excursions... but, what about things happening on the ship?

Do you experienced cruisers go to the games shows & play bingo?

We have done three dcl cruises and have only been to bingo once (West Coast cruise). I think we went once to the Who wants to be a Millionaire (is that what it is/was called? for some reason my mind says no - but it's too early to think).

Have you Mary Jo?
