Hey Lynn I've Pm'd you but good luck.

For those state side who are wondering what Ofsted is. It is basically government inspectors. You get a phonecall giving you 2 days notice. If Lynn got it today, her inspection will take place next Monday & Tuesday (i think). The inspectors then go in to assess your school. It is an amazingly stressful time. The inspectors have quite a bit of power behind them aswell. Please think of poor Lynn - She will definatly need the cruise after this

Change in my excursion-

Hi I have been think about what to do in MArseille - the plan was to get the little train (ourselves) then go round and do a bit of shopping. However after further investigation because we are there on a Sunday, on all accounts the place is dead. I have therefore been trying to look for an excursion.
I dont want a long one - 4-5 hrs and Im kind of limited as I cant sit on a coach for very long periods - well to cut a long story short the only one that seems to fit is
Calanques of Cassis (Are these cliffs?)

So Dave and I are now booked on the PM excursion

Oh, are the stores all closed? We were going to just shop and walk about - not a good idea?

Thank you. I will check this out. I have called every store I can think of - Kohls, Jc Penny, Old Navy, Sears, Target and no one has them. I might be able to get them in Dick Sporting or cabelas - but they are no where near me. I did look at some websites - some do not have right sizes left or they are nylon (which they do not want).

Anyway - one of my sons came in last night and I noticed his shorts were just below the knee. I will see what my other son's shorts look like. I might just order them on-line for dh.

Will go check it out.

I cannot do the multi quote thingy and can barely do the one quote thingy - When I quote, type a reply and submit - sometimes it comes back saying my post is too short so I keep doing it over and over - I have no idea what I am doing.

Cell phones - I recently called t-mobile to see what they would charge for int'l minutes since my son went to the Bahamas a few weeks ago and was told $2.99 a minute. It seems a bit high to me and I am afraid if my oldest one wants me to add it since he might want to have contact w/his girfriend.

What rate is everyone getting w/their provider?

Also - I know I saw a list somewhere w/minutes and prices for the internet on dcl. Can someone post please if you have it?

DD has T-Mobile and when we checked into getting me one - and she was also told that just add on International roaming and it will only be per minute charge. She was told $0.99 a minute. Which should be better than $6.95 pr minute. Who's the service with the FAV 5 group? If you have that one, check into the fact that if you call each other - will this be "cheaper" or even free?

Hi Leslie, I bought 2 of them about 2 months ago. We are doing 3 cruises next year ranging all over the US and even parts of Mexico and Columbia. Since Nextell doesn't work there yet, we decided to go this route. I have heard favorable comments and the person that suggested it to me told me he's had no problem with his. He had had them about 9 months. I for one like the idea of not having to change numbers ever again. Just use when we need, charge and put away or charge when you need it. We will be taking these on this cruise too. The numbers are bases out of the UK but according to the table - calls from Italy to US are about $1.75 a minute. Mexico to US is a bit more but Spain and France I think were less than Italy. Not sure - its been a while. Will have to double check.

"We have a private tour in Rome that includes a private tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, & St. Peter's Basilica, I believe, as well as entrance to the Coliseum and visits to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, etc. There are three of us, and I believe that the private tour can hold up to 8. If anyone is interested in joining us, you're welcome. I'm looking into a private tour in Naples, with focus on Pompeii, Herculeum, and a drive up the Amalfi Coast to Positano (I believe). Haven't booked that one yet. Debating on doing Palermo & Marseilles on our own. Already doing Olbia on our own - I think that will be a down day to relax for the most part.

I had a strange thought whilst I was in the shower this morning.

As a lot of people are heading for Barcelona before the cruise and for all you American folks it will be at least a couple of day prior because you've got long haul flights to make. Those of us here in the U.K who are not leaving home till the morning of the cruise (like me) will probably be talking to ourselves for the 36-48 hours. I wonder how many pirates I can acumulate in that time

I know, once I'm on the ship, I will be OK but since I'm spending 4 days in London and 2 in Barcelona, wondering if I will need to do some charging. Of course, I heard and read that its best to keep your phone off, I guess to avoid some charges

All right all - if I could fire my TA I would. Why oh why did I use them. But experience makes the best teachers! So they say, in this case - its definitely the truth.

Speaking of teachers - LYNN - our thoughts and goes out to you in this stressful time. As if you needed anymore stress right?

Anyway, quick note. I needed to get myself back to Barcelona on the 15th. Dh and Family were leaving from CDG at 1:50. One of the TA's tried telling me that it was going to cost over$700 +. And I would be flying into Madrid and then arriving BCN at 11 pm! I tried telling her price a roundtrip ticket. That's what we had to do when we get off the ship on the 8th, we fly Iberia (GROAN) from BCN to ORLY for about $200 RT. Did she listen to me? Nope - what I got was this - I'll have to discuss it with Nada and get back to you. That was yesterday at 3:30 pm. Right now I'm so I would fire them on the spot.

Sorry all to rage, I do have good news- DH found a fare from CDG to BCN leaving at 2:30 (they leave at 1:50 pm) from CDG and I arrive at 4:15 pm. for about $176 RT. He got this by booking an ungodly return time but since I'm not going to use it - it worked out much cheaper.

Figures - I'm always a day late & a dollar short! I'm still in my original cabins - 2083 and 2085. Not even on the same side as most of the other DECK 2 DISsers. I told DH that we should downgrade but NOOOOOO! Why mess with it?

- MAYBE TO SAVE SOME $$$$$?
