Yes!!!!!! It was my first day of Summer Vacay as well.... ........I don't go back until 8/28.....how about you?

Finally FREE! We go back the week before Labor Day for New Student Orientation.

Ok, finally done ketchuping up!!! It took 2 1/2 hours for just today!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow, I have to visit U of Pittsburgh for a college visit for DD17 (soccer player).......wish me luck............(or actually wish her luck!)

Ok i don't know how much I'll be around tonight.

At school tomorrow (Wed) I am having a performance management observation -so I am kinda nervous and need to work hard for it.

Since going partime (2.5days) 2 years ago I dont have my own class anymore. Instead I go into 5 diffferent ones. Its the same 5 each week - for example on every Tuesday morning I teach yr2 p. However I find being observed in a class thats not your own doubly hard.

Although I am a big worrier.

Good Luck, Helen. It's funny. Teachers have no problem talking in front of students. It's usually talking in front of adults that make us shy. You're right. It must be tough when it's not your own class. I'm sure it will be fine. Little nerves are good, it keeps you on your toes.

I had a strange thought whilst I was in the shower this morning.

As a lot of people are heading for Barcelona before the cruise and for all you American folks it will be at least a couple of day prior because you've got long haul flights to make. Those of us here in the U.K who are not leaving home till the morning of the cruise (like me) will probably be talking to ourselves for the 36-48 hours. I wonder how many pirates I can acumulate in that time

I wish - I just have to write that down or by brain doesn't comprehend where I'm going to be. As will most likely be the situation once I'm actually there.

Notice I didn't put anything down after Naples , not sure if its in Italy or somewhere else, So I left it out.

Also, considering doing on our own in Olbia, Sardinia but haven't decided yet.

I need to this weekend before time runs out.

That is the problem, I think you book a 'window' of time, but its like a 'fastpass' you have to keep within that slot. I have read this across the trip reports someone did post a link.

LOL - Knew that would throw you for a loop. My oldest son - Andrew 21 is no longer going with us. So, we were able to replace him with DD's HSF which is going to delay our documents which just arrived at the TA's office. I just hope that DCL can reprint them out in time. We leave on the 25th of July.

Isabel, hope you feel better. Not sure if you will have time. The description said it was supposed to allow you time but I've heard from 2 past cruisers and they said that the traffice was horrendous and took over 2 hrs to get on bus. As 3 of our 6 in our party gets motion sickness, I had to prepare an alternative. Plus, I was following the blog of Celeste - the traveling nurse on the 1st Med cruise and she highly recommended this company. They have either Mecedes or BMW cars which has VERY GOOD Air Conditioning and was a major factor in my booking this. The other DCL excursions usually have some element of outdoor thing but these ones were kind important to me.

You might want to double check with DCL as one trip only allows time for a photo op and one will allow up to 1/2 hr to climb if time permits. Which hasn't been happening from the sound of traffic. Also, I believe you need to have a reservation to avoid the lines. The company I'm contracting with, sent me a link and I'm talking with them to see when would be a good time to get there. Assuming the cars/small vans can go a bit faster than the big busses this can change time frames.

I think it was on one of the trip reports on this site, although poss on the Bloggs of all ears net, you can book it about 30-45 days in advance for a time slot.

Therein lies the problem. With us being so far away, we more or less have to bite the bullet and go on our own. I, for one, could not be in Italy and not visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa or attempt to see David? Which I believe you need an appt also for.

Someone correct if me if I got my countries and art world all mixed up.

I have just ordered my metro travel cards. It is a pass that you can use on metro or bus for unlimited travel. I got the 4 nights for 17 .5 Euros.
(It was 3 euro certified delivery)

The website says it takes 10 working days for delivery in EU countries and 15 working days for all other countries. Therefore if you are in the states and considering them I would order them soon !

Capt Crash (although its been answered) is a very funny and extremely helpful gentleman who is a loving and adorable father. He also happens to post the most humorous images you can ever imagine. Tom!

You're embarassing me. Like I really need any help doin' that on my own...

I'm sorry I can't join you folks on the sailing. You don't know how much I really want to go - but as mentioned earlier, I cannot this time around. Maybe next time, eh? And as for what I'm doin' here if I'm NOT sailing with ya... I'm just havin' a little fun sending a bit of good cheer (I hope) to some friends who are are sailing with ya who also happen to be scheduled to party with us on the PC REPO in Aug of 2008.

So - if you've only read thruough the last 10 pages - that's great! I remember the first time I was discovering this DIS thing - it was just prior to my 3rd Disney cruise. The folks who preceeded me and were already organizing THEIR DIS diversions on the sailing were a wild looking bunch. AND I was (at the time) a newish and reserved fellow - who soon discovered the majority of DIS folks are really REALLY NICE folks who take the voyage to another level. You don't have to go hog wild if you're not ready - and even if ya don't go hog wild and pack token gifts for EVERY DIS family (on the last sailing I had something for nearly all the DIS kids - next sailin' I'm doing as other folks did on my last voyage who brought goodies for EVERY DIS family!) ... or organize semi-private ... previously UNHEARD of diversions (as I've done on the last 2 sailings)... then just go with the flow and have a look forward to havin' a little fun which you're unlikely to see on ANY OTHER CRUISE LINE!

Seriously, I had so much fun without the DIS community on Disney - that I must confess that of the (at that time) 13 cruises we'd taken a few years ago ... the DISNEY line was the first one we EVER repeated consecutively. IE, we had never repeated sailing a cruise line - let alone ship .... until we cruised Disney. SO by implication we had found a new FAVORITE cruise line in DCL. Now mix in the DIS and it's more then meets the eye in my opinion.

SO read on and kick your enthusiasm up a notch. And if ya want ideas on what to pack for your DIS pals - I can offer hints if ya PM me. From the simple to the sophisticated. Cheap to the not so cheap. AND ... I can only assume the gang has everyone doing fish extenders, right?

And thanks Andrew for alerting me to Lauras' generous and potentially misguided remarks (chuckles).... I don't know if I'm really all that! It sounds so sugar coated... ya know. speaking of which, Laura I now am indebted to you to the sum of a candy sprinkle covered mickey bar!

And Andrew... My older daughter and I are now amidst watching our first Dr Who episode of the new season. Rose and the Doctor are going forward in time... 10,000 years ... 12,005 the new Roman Empire. Now they're going to .... ? <steady silent grinnin'> This episode is "at the worlds end" I think... so this is NOT the new season. DRAT! I'll have to wait until July 6th to catch it in the US on the SciFi channel! .... Wahhhah!!!
