Yeah.... I hit my 300th post-!!

I remember when I first found this thread, I was an innocent, cruise lurker, just trying to find a little extra information about my cruise. I thought to myself, OMG some people have posted hundreds of times!!!!!!- Where do they get the time for this ???????

Now I know...
*you all have no clothes to wear either because you all have no time to do the wash....
*your families do not get hot meals either....
*you are about to loose your jobs because if your boss catches you on the computer once more.....
*your children now leave post-it messages attached to your back ( which is the only part they have seen of you in a long time)when they need you.....

OK...OK I'll stop :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK Andrew - you are too spooky for me  - next you'll be seeing things that aren't really there. :teleport:
I think its spooky.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY EVERYONE- I HOPE YOUR HAVING YOUR FAVORITE BREAKFAST AND SITTING WITH YOUR FEET UP READING THE PAPER... AT LEAST FOR 5 MINUTES OR SO UNTIL THE KIDS WAKE UP !!!!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU !!!!!!!!!
:jumping1:
Some hope, down shopping to get XBOX Spiderman 3 for Stephen and Alice Maps of USA for her school project.

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, my dd, Kelly, graduated from high school. It was a really nice graduation followed by a dinner at a restaurant at the Redondo Beach Marina with her dad & his family (even though we're divorced, his family & I are close).

I'll have a picture to post tomorrow.

Today, unfortunately, I was laid low with a huge headache, and just got up. I guess I should share... I hate hate hate headaches. I still have one, but at least I can open my eyes now. Hopefully, it won't happen again tomorrow because I have to count @ church (I'm on a counting team).

Okay, off to
Ketchup.jpg

Congratulations on you dd's high school graduation. We stayed in Redondo Beach when we went on the DCL West Coast Cruise in 05. We had dinner at a very nice restaurant down there in the marina, we enjoyed our walks there too.

Sorry about your headaches - are they migrane? Not sure if I get migranes, but when I get them bad - I need to lie down, no noise, no light and I wish someone would remove my head off.

Hope you feel better this morning.

WOW! Anna - you must be so proud. Wonderful picture. Does the gold collar signify anything? Or is that the school's color? I've never seen a gold one - so can I assume honors?

At our schools they have the kind that goes over the robe and ends in a triangle. Not sure what the proper name is.

Congrats!

Hi Laura, thank you.

No - This is just the color they wear in grammar school and the boys wear gold ties - they don't have anything that signifies, honors, or scholars. They do that though in High School.

Tomorrow evening is their "big" dance - we can't call it a prom or anything (school rules/changes). We will be busy getting nails, hair, etc. Another stressful day ahead. ::eek:

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DAD'S HERE AND THE ONES WAITING FOR BREAKFAST.

ANDREW CONGRATS ON YOUR LAST PIRATE - I TRIED THE QUOTE THINGY AND I GUESS IT DID NOT GO THROUG :thumbsup2

I remember a while back someone was planning on bringing for the men in their families convertible zip pants. Have you purchased them recently? USA, store, on-line? Almost everyone carried them and now I have checked many stores and no one has them or are out of them (at least near where I am). I also saw some on-line - so far - some are nylon, some don't have all three sizes (which means I will have to order from two different places - I want to order three diff. sizes).

Thank you.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads!party:

Congratulations!

:cool1: 1000

This is my 1000th post on this thread!
Congratulations! How time flies.

OH NO! I'd better pick up the pace and start rolling again..........
Lol! Time's a wastin'

SALLIE SALLIE SALLIE :yay:

I was a DL yesterday - guess what? They have a Mickey beanie propeller hat. I was SOOOOOO tempted to buy it for you - but was considering the weight limit and then if you did wear it - that the propellers might lift you off the ground! :lmao: I wouldn't want to be responsible for a flying Sallie! :rotfl2: So I didn't get it - but if you really want it.........I can be persuaded to go back and get it.

OBTW, if anyone is interested - the Nemo line was only 4 hrs long yesterday, Friday. We didn't do it but on Monday - opening night for public - it stretched from where the Subs are all the way back to ToonTown! :faint: otherwise that day the wait was 6 hr long! :faint:
Lol on the beanie hat. I can hardly wait for Sallie to wear it. It looks like the lines are longer for Nemo than they were for Indiana Jones when it first opened.

The tag fairy's first visit- Thanks! I love it!
Great tags!

He is fine!! nice to post to Jimmy as well.

He didn't tell me anything I didn't know, A history teacher with a fixation for toilet rolls and flashing at the pope.:rotfl2:
:lmao:

:ssst: I'm sneaking in here - LOL - I left the computer on while "I'm getting ready." :lmao: (Am I that bad? ::yes::)

Anyway, today is also Harry Potter day at DL so I'm sure that DD20 will go there after work ends at 4 pm just to check it out. Gosh - I'm bad aren't I? Actually I prefer Jessica Rabbit's tag - I'm just drawn that way! :rotfl2:

Truth be told - I was sooooo tempted to buy it but Megan said - MOM - YOU'D BETTER NOT! You'd swear by the way she said it that I was an embarrassment to her! :lmao:
Lol! Mine just pat me on the head. I didn't know they had a Harry Potter day at DL - what do they do?

Ok as promised here is some info that a fellow 1st Med Cruiser sent me.

She is about 10 miles from my house. I PM'd her because she took the same flight that I will be taking when we leave. She has some other tips that we might find interesting.

If anyone is interested in asking her any other questions, just let me know and I'll ask her if its ok to forward her number. I also asked her to post if she felt like it at MrsG's (Mary Ann's) thread.
Great info!

My kids jumped on the laptop early and using my Dis logg in did this PM, so it shows as me to me.
What a nice thing to do for you. :)

For some reason - with all this talk of TP - I read this as - I had a BM!
:lmao:

SORRY GUYS I APOLOGISE FOR THE FLUFF.
pirate:

Well its fathers day and thats my present.
Sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do

:scared1: - and I thought all you Brits were all proper? LOL - but you do have a wicked sense of humor!

Tell Kelly CONGRATS!

Hey Mary Jo! :yay:

I LOVE DEAN KOONTZ! I buy everyone of his books. I used to LOVE Stephen King but his last 5-8 books haven't been all that. I have started to load up my ipod with audiobooks - it takes forever to load one up. However, I now have 4 books on there.

DD harassed me until I finally preordered Harry and I'm sure that will be going. In retrospect, I should have bought it on audiobook so that she could also download. Still might. If I do, want to 'listen' to it? Since you live sooo close, I can tell you my library and let you 'borrow' them to download.

I love murder mystery with a little fluff every now and then just to lighten the mood. But Koontz is my fav! :thumbsup2 I just downloaded his new one onto my ipod but am waiting to listen to this one as I don't have it on cd. I bought it off iTunes. Jonathen Kellerman is another good mystery w/o some gore. He has a good series on a pshycologist Alex Delaware. There is another writer that writes about another one who's main character is Alan Gregory - the writer's name escapes me at the moment but he's good too.

Just discovered Jeffrey Deaver. I like him.

Anyway, your welcome to my library if you want to download some. But give yourself some lead time - it takes a while.

I'm a bookworm in case you all hven't figured it out. ;)
Ohh, sounds good. The only Dean Koontz book I wasn't able to finish was Intensity, and that was because it was too intense! My ds really liked the Odd Thomas stories - I have those books, but haven't read them yet. I think the latest one I have is called "The Husband" - but haven't read it yet.

Did you see as well as THREAD POST 8800 my POST COUNT was also 8800, spooky.
Hmmm, must be getting close to cruise time, your numbers are starting to act up again.

I bet there will be literally hundreds of copies of the Harry Potter book on the ship. I don't think anyone has yet really thought out the consequences of this. I can see it now...

It will begin with reports from the 7/18 10 night cruise, which will suffer a 80% cancellation rate as kids on that cruise realize that they're going to be at sea on Harry Potter release day and simply refuse to sail. A few lucky ones will get on our 7/28 cruise, where rates will suddenly tripple due to demand.

Excursions will be nearly empty on our cruise. The most common sound heard in the hallways will be "Mom! I don't want to see some stupid Roman ruins. Harry just found another Voldemort Horcrux inside a roll of toilet paper!"

Meanwhile, for the first time in DCL history, adults will have free use of the now empty kids pool and slide, as the kids will be hiding in their cabins reading. Kids programming will be completely empty, except for the packed public readings of Deathly Hallows in the Walt Disney theatre, which will be hijacked by the kids programming staff (all normal shows being cancelled of course).

The Oceaneer's Lab will also be open to adults, if only to give the youth counselors something to do.

Personally, I'm quite looking forward to the unique opportunities presented by this situation. I will, of course, be immune to the Potter-Mania, as the previous Saturday morning will already have been, as usual, my traditional early morning drive to Costco to pull one off the giant palette of books they'll have. I won't sleep again until I'm done - which, depending on the length of the book, will be sometime that night.

This will put me (and others like me) in another unique position in the history of DCL. For if any kid annoys me in the slightest, all I'll have to do is look him or her in the eye, and tell them to buzz off or I'll tell them how it ends. Thet'll scare 'em off like nothing else could.

And even more fun! Inventing fake endings to really freak them out! Oh, I can already see that this is going to be fun...
Thanks for the visuals. I wonder how many more pounds (or is it kilos) we're all going to add to the ship with all the HP books.

Thank you. Headaches are sinus, but I need to lay down when I have them. They're pretty bad. Today I don't get that luxury as I have to count, and then there is a celebration for our principal who is leaving.

Here is a summary of things we've discussed (most assuredly incomplete, but here goes)

Lime green: Official color of the DIS. People use ribbons, Mickey paint chips (Home Depot), t-shirts, etc., in lime green to recognize each other (this is done at parks and cruises

Recommendations:
Lime green ribbons: Put lime green ribbons or have something lime green during Cruise and at meets prior to cruise (AnnaS - Anna)
Glow necklaces: Preferred color lime green, however, any color would work - to wear when we meet Friday night and when we go to the Sailaway Party on Saturday night . (salliep - Sallie)
Local gift bag worth $15-$20 with something from your area - to be exchanged at DIS meet (one per DISer/Family)
Fish extenders outside staterooms
Small, nominal gifts for fish extenders (optional & gifts can be anything - just for fun)

DIS Meet: Sunday, Promenade Lounge (Deck 3) at 09:30
Group Picture: TBD (Suggestions: At DIS Meet, Pirate Night, or Last night of cruise)

Photos of fellow DISers cruising: Page 529, Post 7933 (disneylover5 - Lisa)

Photos are also on Page 1, Post 12

Thank you Lisa, for compiling them, and Andrew for putting them on first page, as well as reorganizing first page

Lanyards: To be handed out prior to the cruise & during the DIS meet (Kyla - Jeanne)

List of Pirates (Andrew the Pirate Keeper)
There are several posts with the list, but you can find a good list at post #8790
(btw: WMRegina gave me that weebles wobble tag - she would laugh at knowing that is my pirate name)
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1064311&page=586

Important components of the Packing List (Sandaneli - Sandra)
List of things to do:
*Make fish extender, buy fabric, figure out pattern actually sew
*Make door decoration, buy magnet, download pictures or "scrapbook" image somehow put image on magnet, test magnet with image attached
*Buy green glow necklaces
*Buy lime green ribbons to tie on clothes
*Buy extra TP to start rolling. Let's see 2 people times 6 shore visits = at least 12 rolls, then there is the supply for those not bringing or rolling
*Purchase/make or otherwise acquire hundreds of things for fish extender disboard gifts.
*Purchase extra luggage for said fish extender gifts
*Get part time job to pay for hundreds of fish extender gifts and overweight luggage charges.
*Purchase 2-4 white tshirts and iron on transfer sheets for printer to make 2 tshirts to wear on cruise to be identified by other dissers. (extra shirts are for mistakes)
*Make tshirts and then make them again when the first ones don't come out because I will have forgotten to reverse the printing. (I know me).
*Locate and purchase items of local interest for grab/swap at DisMeet.
*Print out family photos, coordinate with names and make booklet with names matched to faces so I don't totally blow it and call people by the wrong names.

Other Notes:
JoAnn, I mean, Captain Provider, will be providing TP rolls to those who sign up. I imagine her stateroom will look something like this when she unpacks:
Toilet_Paper.jpg

And we'll be well prepared for any church, right?
mummy.jpg

(This actually reminds me of the time that I got the bright idea to dress my ds as a mummy for Halloween when he was in 3rd grade (I think). I wrapped him up in toilet paper, and when I ran out, I used paper towels. I'll never forget the image of him sitting in the car on the way to school with his arms sticking out (think of the little brother in his snow suit in the movie "A Christmas Story"), and then shaking his head and saying, "I'm not very happy," with tears in his eyes. OMGosh, I felt like such a terrible mommy!! I called work & told them we had a domestic issue I had to take care of, and then went to the store & bought a ton of gauze. I dressed him up, and of course, as the day wore on, the gauze was falling off -- he got the award at school for the best homemade costume. He ended up a happy little boy that day... but the image of him sitting in my car w/paper ripping everytime he moved... it's really funny ....... now)

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads!party:

What a nice thing to do for you.

Hmmm, must be getting close to cruise time, your numbers are starting to act up again.

It was great surprise! Numbers???? yes IN 2005 everything on my trip ended in 64,

The Airport gate, The first three hotels and the stateroom number all ended in 64, and my wifes birth year.

Look - It's CHICKEN BOY!!!!!!!! :lmao: Remind me to explain onboard. Better yet - ask Brent! :lmao: :lmao: (It'll make a great explanation and if you want to see a man  go for it!

Or.. It's Pink Tutu Ballerina Boy!:rotfl2: I have the Wonder crew skit video on our Southern Caribbean 11 DVD. What a hoot!:rotfl2:

WTG Wendy - congratulations on your tag - glad you finally got some help too w/posting a picture. Nice! I remember that one :goodvibes

Thanks Anna!

Congrats on the tag, Wendy. Also, great picture of your family

Maryann

Thank-you. I'm sorry your community has had a rough time. I hope things havew settled down.
Congratlations on your DS's teaching job.

Congratulations on your DD's graduation. I hope you're feeling better.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!!

Dan, I love reading your posts, they are very insiteful and interesting as well as funny!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the kind words:goodvibes

Thanks for the visuals. I wonder how many more pounds (or is it kilos) we're all going to add to the ship with all the HP books.

Assuming the book is about the same size as Half-Blood Prince, and there are 900 kids on board...
Only about half the kids will be at the right age to read - but each of them will need their own book (imagine the arguments). Plus, figure at least 5% of the adults will need a book, let's say about 600 books. That ends up about a 3/4 ton of Harry Potter.
Add to that the additional 50 trauma psychiatrists that will have to be brought on board when the kids discover who dies in this book (double that if it turns out to be Harry), at another 225 pounds each, that's another 5 1/2 to 11 tons of psychiatrists (add a few hundred pounds for sedatives).

Seriously though, I can't wait to see what impact (if any) this has on the cruise.

I am not the first to speculate on this it seems:

Or.. It's Pink Tutu Ballerina Boy!:rotfl2: I have the Wonder crew skit video on our Southern Caribbean 11 DVD. What a hoot!:rotfl2:

Oh Tom - you HAVE to print out a picture of that and bring it for a signature. That's was so hilarious! :lmao: I am frantically trying to find my pictures of that cruise as my DH has posted them on 4 different computers. (Like I'm supposed to find them that way?) And this after I asked for one centralized location so that I wouldn't have to bug him every single time.

HELEN! :yay: This one is for you! :thumbsup2 And for any JD fans out there - this one is for you too!:thumbsup2

I found this on the AOL US version - hottest searched dads: Could be Helen was on to something from the get go! ;)

Who's the Hottest Dad?

Father's Day is today, so it seemed fitting to see who the hottest celebrity dads being searched on AOL Search are. After checking out what people are looking for, the results are not totally what I expected. I mean I guess Dr. Phil is a good father figure, but I did not think that he would beat out Brad Pitt. And hello, where is Ben Affleck?

A bunch of musicians make the list this year and they definitely span the gamut of musical genres from bad boy Eminem to country crooner Brad Paisley. I am glad Matt Lauer made the list because, in my opinion, he is a pretty hot celebrity dad. I also bet that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a good dad to his four children with Maria Shriver, so he deserves to be recognized for it.

Are there any celeb dads that you think should have made the list that did not? Just search for celebrity dads on AOL Search and see.
