July 28, 2007 - "Rome-ancing the Mouse Cruisers" -11 days! Part 3

Harole Anne,

Everytime I look at my reservation on-line, I think the same thing. It seemed so far away and no need to even think about it for a while once we made the reservation. I can't believe it's almost here. I sure hope it does not fly by too fast when we are cruising. I want to stop, take a deep breath and enjoy the scenery, smells, food, beauty, etc. Unfortunately it will then be over before we know it.:guilty:

Good Advice!!!
WE've all waited so long and now we have to find a way to keep it from rushing by.

Sandra

Okay, this is from the site:

How fast is shipping
Really fast. In fact, no one is faster. Your custom t-shirts will be on their way in 24 hours or less. With Express Mail, you can even receive them in 1-2 days! Check the order status page if you have questions about your order.
Mary jo- I love it, I will definitely prefer buying it done than the iron on- Im just not sure how to get both graphics to the shirt- unless they have an upload button and we use photobucket like here???? I guess we also have to wait for the tags to be put inside the Mickey head?????
Do you think they have figured out a way to add my animated propeller so that it spins on the shirt!!!!!

Darn It! I keep forgetting to post some saying I got in regards to:

Well, I'll let them say what its about. I got these in an e-mail but I can't copy the pictures so I'll just write them down:

T-Shirt Sayings:

"I'm still hot....It just comes in flashes!"

Personally - my favorite and keeping in tune with our thread - I like the first one myself - ;) :lmao:
Laura--- I love the first one, I copied it and made a little scrapbook page and framed it this morning!!! It now sits proudly in my den!!!
Reminds me of that title of that old musical - "Stop the world, I want to get off". Has been on my mind for the past couple of years, but I haven't figured out how to do it yet.

There was also that old TV show "Picket Fences" - based in part on the premise that real life is much messier than the idealized lives we seem to live behind those perfect white picket fences. Truth is, everyone has "s**t" of one form or another, and every family has the same. Part of being human and imperfect and all that.

And I suppose we all have our ways of dealing with it. Mine is through humor and getting lost in SF and fantasy novels...

Dan, do you ever publish articles or editorials in your local newspaper, or the major newspapers and magazines ?? You have such a journalistic voice when you post... so cleaver, intelligent, and LOL funny! If not you should- you have a gift!

Harole Ann, should I be concerned, we are on an all day private excursion in Rome with you. I just hope you have clothes left by day 6. Otherwise, Sallie won't be the only one flashing. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: THe poor Pope.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sandra

Sandra- we are a big group now.... Rome will never be the same--- you know the expression

When in Rome... do as the Flashers!!!!!

Ok- just went to the site-it is the same as uploading the image like we do here !! So we need to wait for the tag image to be done before we can order... ?????
I am also going to do the canvas beach bag with our pocket design !!
:dance3: :dance3:

Hi Lisa, I would like to try and get together, do you think we'd be able to get reservations? It would be for me and DH.

Must have missed the quote for this one. Lisa had suggested getting a second group together for Brunch.
Sorry about all the following posts. I just can't manage the multi quote thing.

Lisa,
We would love this. I was just thinking the other day that maybe we could get a second group together. I would also be interested in getting a group together for tea if anyone is interested in that. I'd be willing to try and orgainze it.
So count us in for a group brunch.

Sandra and Gerry

Ok, Here we go...2nd Brunch (or dinner if we can't get brunch) Group
Lisa and Dale Turner (alexcturner)
Penny and DH (islandmom3)
Sandra and Gerry (Sandaneli)

Very exciting!! I've always wanted to eat in Palo's private room.....
Please, when you have a chance, pm me your details..(stateroom number and names). Another DIS board person pm'd me and said she had everyone's info when she made the reservation.

Islandmom3, I did not answer your question....yes, I do believe we will be able to get a reservation. If not beforehand, on the ship. I will begin working on it now though.
Have a great day!

LOL - I was scanning the computer hard drive for pictures and came across this one. This one is blurry but all I had time to download was this one. I love it even though its blurry because you can tell Brent, our CD hopefully was really embarrassed to come out this way. You can tell from his face that the audience was roaring with laughter.

I'll have to search tomorrow for the chicken boy outfit. :lmao:

Oh boy! I remember this routine from the 11 nite southern of 2006. I HAD a bunch of photos of this til my external HD had a power failure. And now I need a new external enclosure to swap the drive to recover the data. At any rate... here are some tunes to go with Brent and his companuons on stage:

Has anyone tried these????

jetlag.jpg
Regimented diets, timed lighting, melatonin...How do YOU cope with jet lag? Since 1990, thousands of long-distance travelers have depended successfully on No-Jet-Lag to help them feel fresh on arrival. It's a surprisingly effective, natural homeopathic product that addresses all the symptoms of jet lag, not just sleeplessness, and it's made a lot of converts since we first began offering it. Each packet contains 32 pleasant-tasting, chewable tablets, sufficient for about 50 hours of flying time (good instructions included). It's safe for all ages (does not react with any other medication), free from any side-effects, and guaranteed to help you cope with jet lag or your money back. Made in New Zealand. (1 oz)

:woohoo: My On-line check in is Complete:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo:

We are one step closer and it's only 8:28 am. It's amazing how much can get done if you don't go back to bed after DH leaves for work.;) ;)

Online check in took me 55 minutes. When I put in our retrun flights for a departure time of 12:55 pm then clicked submit. It came up as 9:55 am, did anyone else have this happen. I double checked Air France and it still lists the flight time as 12:55 pm and my final documents came out as 12:55 pm so I'm wondering if that's the time they want you to be at the airport. Does anyone know if that is the case?:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Sandra

We leave in 30 days, cruise in 32 days:banana:

Sallie,
I haven't seen these before but will be interested to see what others have to say about them. Where do you buy them from?

Morning Sandra!!! I am trying to go through travel catalogs to see what I will need ( or what they suggest I will need ). These are in all my catalogs will many customer reviews which most say they wouldn't travel overseas without????
Here are some reviews:
• Following a 12-hour flight across nine time zones, I used to just add in an extra 30-hours to overcome jet lag. Last trip from Portland,OR to Amsterdam; I tried No Jet-Lag while my spouse toughed it out. Upon landing, I was alert, oriented, and able to quickly grasp transportation, lodging, language, and business issues. While I was tired and dehydrated, I was still able to think clearly. My poor spouse was in the Zombie mode. While they may not work for everyone, or be a true no-jet-lag silver bullet, they do make functioning much easier. With No Jet-Lag, within 24-hours of landing, I am completely aclimatized.

• I used no jet-lag on a trip to London in May of 02 and it worked great- I always get jet lag, but I followed the instructions exactly and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm ordering more for my trip to Portugal next month.

• I've used them a few times - UK- Australia & back again & UK - Peru & back.

Here is a web site for one of them:

That's what I'm going to do. When we get our tag logo then I'll place my order. :)

Thank you for the hi-res, Dan. I downloaded to my computer.

You too? Doc just doubled my medication. Now I am real jumpy in the morning, and get really bogged down around 1 or 2pm.

On a sad note - the 'nodules' on my thyroid are not only still there, but bigger. Doc gave me a name as i have to go have them do a special type of biopsy. He said to wait till after the cruise. I'm worried that i will have to have more surgery to have the whole thing removed. Wouldn't be so bad if I was in my 60's. But to think of taking medication for the next 60 years sucks.
Good luck. Taking one pill for the rest of you life won't be so bad. I'd rather take one pill for the next 60 yrs. than no pill for the next 20!

Hi everyone,

For those of you like me, who really aren't good at doing iron-on transfers, there is a site called Zazzle.com, that will let you customize a t-shirt in various styles & then send to you. I think the cost is fairly reasonable, depending on what you want to put on it.

Here is a rough sample of what a lady's t-shirt would look like with our logo on the front pocket and our tags on the bag -- there are also sleeveless, long-sleeved, men's, etc.

zazzle-tshirt-front.jpg

zazzle-tshirt-back.jpg

If you're interested, the website for the t-shirts is: http://www.zazzle.com/custom/tshirts

You can also personalize other items, too.

Thanks Mary Jo. I will definitely do this.

Darn It! I keep forgetting to post some saying I got in regards to:

T-Shirt Sayings:

"I'm still hot....It just comes in flashes!"

Every time I hear the dirty word "exercise", I wash my mouth out with chocolate!"

"I'm not 50 - I'm $49.95 plus tax!"

"Keep staring - I MIGHT do a trick!"

Personally - my favorite and keeping in tune with our thread - I like the first one myself - ;) :lmao:

Oh these are great!

Brian was kind enough to send me a high res image a couple of weeks back. I spent some time cleaning it up (had some jpg compression artifacts).

Here are two images. The first one is a single high res image that's had its resolution adjusted to appear exactly 4.5 inches wide (the maximum recommended size for T-shirt pocket).

The second one is the same, except it has two images on a page - for those who want to print out their own T-shirt transfers to help conserve paper.

Thanks Dan (and Brian)

We are also not booking anything. We will see how everything goes once we board and how we feel. We might be ready to relax by then.

We're doing the same, Anna.

I bought these through Magellans. I sent a pack with DD&DS but not sure if they used them. I bought another pack for us to try. We'll see....

Hi Maryann!!! Do you think I should give them to Carley- she is the one I am most worried about (since we will arrive in Paris at 10am their time, but only 3am our time!!), but I hate giving her anything Im not 100% sure about:confused3 :confused3

Hey Maryann- Im going to Bed Bath & Beyond to get some space bags and travel goodies- if you aren't doing anything- why dont you meet me and we shop like crazy... just think about all those tiny travel size bottles and creams and tiny toothpaste tubes.. there go my tingling toes again!!!  :dance3:

Sallie,

I have a dentist appt. at 11 and should be done by 1. Is that too late?

The jet lag stuff is all natural. I'm sure it would be OK for Carley.

My husband is coming home early today, at 1, and we are going to get a sink for my upstairs bath which is being redone- how about Thursday?????? I am goign to Pm my home phone number- I think I have yours in my PM's...:cutie:

Hi everyone,

Not been around for a while, but done a bit of catching up! Glad to see TP issues (tissues?) appear to be resolved! :rotfl:
Ideas posted for t-shirt printing are helpful, thanks- will wait on Carrie to let us know if we need to organise it (thanks Carrie:) )
Lisa (Alexcturner)- sent you a pm :surfweb:
So excited - only few weeks now. Just sorting out hotels for Barcelona.

I really need to get up there in Spring - that's my favorite time, though winter is pretty special as well.

When very young, I thought it was the leaning tower of Pizza. I have since learned that is not the case, so no longer have any interest in visiting it. :rolleyes1

It's an evolutionary thing you see. Flowers have thorns. Sharks have teeth. 14 year old girls have the ability to generate a sneer of such disdain and power, that anyone seeing it feels instantly reduces to the importance of a flea (or less - fleas arguably have some value in nature).

That the sneer and associated attitude does not result in more stranglings such as you describe, is one of the true miracles of nature.

I had some girls in my classes whose sneers and disdain was so perfected, that I was simply in awe that such a thing could exist. Fortunately, being a teacher (and a part time one at that), and not a parent, I simply ignored them - which is ultimately what they wanted anyway.
My husband and daughter were there 3 springs ago - when the falls were incredible! I loved our stay in winter too.

Leaning Tower of Pizza? I think my 12 year old is still hoping that is it.

There is a saying about understanding why animals eat their young . . .

OH MY - I actually caught up!

On Wednesday I am going to talk to Mrs. Tinnin. Our kids go to school together, so she is likely to do things for me. if it would come out to more, i will let you all know and we can try with zazzle.
Congrats for catching up - it can take forever!!
I am sorry about the nodules - hope you'll be able to relax on the ship and not worry about it.
I am excited about the shirts - let us know what you find out.

MaryJo,

Perhaps we should all have the same door sign. Another connection to the dis.
But then we'll end up in each other's rooms after wine tasting:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Where do you get all of your pictures from? They are hilarious!

Has anyone tried these????

No, I asked earlier - hope someone responds. I think I also saw them at AAA

I had the same issue - 2 rooms too. Mine and my husbands came out 3 hours earlier - I think the kids are fine. It took quite awhile to do with 2 rooms. They had a survey for me to do afterwards - I wasn't too kind with my remarks. The two rooms were linked and I could do the money authorization one time, why did I have to keep doing the airline one over and over again - they could give choices about who the info refers to. I also got bumped off several times - it was quite a drag getting it done.

It took me forever to register but I had to do 5 people and two rooms.....that weird time change happened to me as well but later it was corrected........I'll admit, I was excited once we registered..............WE'RE REALLY GOING ON THIS TRIP!!!:woohoo:
 :cool1:  :cool1:

I have a rough draft of our door decoration ready to go but one of the graphics isn't very clear so I'm still working on that one. I'll post it when I figure out how.

Just one more step closer to being ready to go:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
