Ok, we were talking about scrapbooks. Here are some pics of mine. sorry about the quality, my scanner isn't big enough to fit the whole page:
I love the scrapbooks - I'm not a scrapbooker - but my DD15 is- I'm going to show them to her
I have 2 boys and a girl. DS 17 ( barely survived the 16's, DD 14 sweet as can be and DS 12 sports fanatic.
I know of 2 almost 16 year old girls going on the cruise, my daughter and FormerCper's daughter too.
It's cool because now they are doing this with a lot more of the kids like him. The other kids learn compassion and coping skills at an earlier age when they are more impressionable. Despite all his outbursts, the kids still say hi to him a lot, and try to incorporate him in things. -
I work in a small school and we have a few children with similar issues. It's wonderful to see how the other kids will rally around and protect the student who is different. There has been a boy in my daughter's class since Kindergarten, (they are now in 6th grade) and even with all of the issues he has he is still one of them and others watch out for him. They make sure he has his homework written down or has the right books when he goes to the next class. You don't hear about those things happening in schools just the bullying etc...
Now I'm on my soap box.![]()
It is definitely a great thing. That is what my daughter's research paper was about - how it helps all children to mainstream - both the "regular" kids and the mainstreamed ones.
When I taught, it was "specials classes" - computers etc. Those classes plus PE were the classes that they started the mainstreamed kids out in - usually worked out fine- I sometimes needed some help from the other teachers - but it was a positive experience. I had one boy in my class who I refered to special services because he was so intelligent but it took him forever to take a test. Turned out he had a processing problem. I couldn't believe that as a 13 year old, no one had ever said anything. I had him for a semester - 1 period a day and I knew there was a problem. He had moved from another school district - amazing the differences in school districts!

It looks like we're doing pretty well paying you Kyla!
Ok all - here's what's been happening.
What a lady I tell you. And a wonderful experience in meeting a new/old neighbor. She's lived there for years but out here -if your more than 2 houses away - we're basically all strangers.
3. I have signed on to do the WB Transatlantic Repo cruise.
Congrats on your dogs - that has happened to us too - so scary!!
I know what you mean about being 2 houses away. We lived in CA for 7 years. The 2nd year that we were there, on Halloween, one of my sons went to a house that was kitty corner from ours - turns out a kid in his class lived there - with 4 other kids!! and we didn't even know they had kids there!
Hi Penny
Here is a link to the tween/ teen thread. The majority posting are the tweens (8-14), I think the 16 and up crowd may need their own thread, which I could start if there is interest!![]()
