Here in the Uk our kids are at school until July 20th, we are on half term break at the moment, the weather is awful so my kids are getting bored because they can't play out. We are going to do some baking which is nice to do but not good for the hips because then we have to eat what we make

Hope the weather gets better for you soon!

Any other teachers on our cruise?

I'm a teacher too! Right now I'm a stay at home mom.. but will go back when the girls are a little older and hubby not deploying every 6 months!

I taught special ed in jr high in Texas at our last duty station and they got out May 26th and went back mid-August. I was going to say, in Sicily here.. the local kids I think get out of school at like 1pm .. but they go on Saturday's too! how's that for a weekend blah!!

Not a teacher, (unless one doesn't come in) I work in the school office making sure the teachers and students have everything they need. There are days/times I have to substitute and have taught 1st grade. But it is KNOWN that the classroom is my least favorite place to be. Teaching is a gift. And it's not one I received. IT's great we all have different gifts it keeps life interesting.

Before kids, in that other life, I was. a Design and Construction Project Manager. I do much better with adults.

Ask any teacher, you folks in the office are the best! We couldn't do it without you!!!!!

I taught 5-12 business education before I had too many children to afford childcare. Took 12 years off - now I teach a business class at a vocational school - 18 -55 year olds:teacher:

This sounds really interesting. But come on, don't you miss the spitball fights??:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Two things complete your pirate persona: style and swagger. Maybe a little too much swagger sometimes -- but who really cares? Arr!

Now to catch up on the 20 or so pages since last friday.

We're sisters!

Yep, that's me!!

Hey, sis!!!!

Here is something fun....find your pirate name!!

www.piratequiz.com

Here's me.....

Red Prudentilla Vane

Passion is a big part of your life, which makes sense for a pirate. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

:lmao:

Your pirate name is:
Captain Mary Rackham

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

Apparently there are very unusually rough seas right now . . . I read on cruise critic's Europe board that a RCI ship wasn't able to dock at Livorno (for Florence) on Monday because of the seas. I have a feeling everything will be fine by the time we get there.
So much good news lately...........it's making the wait more bearable!!:wizard:

Just wanted to thank you for posting the info on that excursion gone wrong - and also express my appreciation for all those who are checking other threads for useful hints and information.
How else will I beat Helen??:rotfl:

AND THE CURRENT QUEEN OF MULTI-QUOTING IS:

WHEW! :faint: And the title goes back to Carrie - Aurora1959 - just cause she's her fav princess! ;)

66! Had to double check on the count - give or take some - wow - and to think - not only is this her 2nd week but she got tagged too! :rotfl:

Now, the challenge is whether you remember why you got tagged? :rotfl2:
Okay, I'm exhausted! I just read all of Aurora's multi-quotes!!!:rotfl: Too funny!!!

In my quest to find more things to write about (how does she do it?).....I think it's time to start a packing list...............help me out, guys!!

Letter sorter /fish hanger?
Surprises to put in the fish hangers
Glo necklaces
Sack of items from our hometown
Toilet paper or wipees or Charmin seat covers
Euros?
Formal/semi-formal wear
Pirate outfit
Bathing suits
Sweatshirt
Lanyards (Kyla only)

What else?

I bathe every day and then some. Not sure why I'm smelly:confused3

I think the MORE you bath....the dirtier you are....remember, this is for a PIRATE!!

Still checking my reservations everyday to see if assignments have been made yet.

Bellelinus - lucky dog

Me either. My travel agent has a friend in inventory control, but on the Wonder and not on the Magic. Hopefully we will get just a little pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hi everyone, I've only got 2 little posts on this whole gigantic site, sorry state of affaris. Anyway, I know that this has been covered but the site is so huge that I don't know where to go to look so I'm going to be lazy and just ask again. First of all I see on page 1 the listings of the hotels that people are staying in, is that the most updated list? Next, I'm booked into the Barcelona Center and I don't see anyone else staying there so I'm wondering if maybe it's not centrally located....does anyone have any knowledge of this hotel? and one more thing we're arriving in Barcelona on the 24th ( very long flight originating in the Cayman Islands, I am DREADING that part of the trip with 3 kids!) and I see posts about transfers , taxis etc.
and what a busy place the BCN airport is, so my question is this .....what the heck should I do to make my family's life the easiest after flying for 14 hours to get ourselves to our hotel?????

pirate: Since I'm trying to build up my posting number as it's starting to embarass me....I wanted to say that we went to Disney World last week for two of my children's birthday and it was GREAT. It doesn't matter how many times we go it's still a fantastic place. This will only be our second cruise and our first trip to Europe and when I read all the posts and all the information it's making me nervous....we're from a small place and we're going to such a big place....yikes! This site has been a huge source of info though, thank you to all of those who have put so much effort into it.
