Only 200 to catch up to Andrew :goodvibes
I have no hope of ever catching up, but I enjoy reading the posts. :)

I think that DH and I have dinner booked at Palo on Pirate night. Do you think they'll let is in if we're dressed as Posh Pirates (whatever they look like !!!!)
Oooh, can we see a pic before we go? pirate:

She already did beat me -but I over took her today!

The race is on:rotfl:

... and enjoying the show :rotfl2:

Well I've now read through about half of the 343 pages of this thread and even though I've only know you bunch for about 24 hours I've come to the conclusion that

YOU ARE ALL COMPLETELY STARK RAVING BONKERS !!!

having that said it will certainly make for a fun cruise !!!!!!

Hi Sorry I was not around to give you a personal :welcome:.

wow it took you 24 hours to realise we're bonkers we must be sliping !normally it just takes people 12 to realise :lmao:

So true :lmao:

I know I've seen it somewhere in this thread but can someone tell me where there was the list of people on this cruise as my DS 11 wants to know if there will be any DIS board kids his age that he can hang out with ?

Also if there are any kids his age could he please PM them (using my DIS login) and get to know them a little before we cruise ?

Andrew has a list on page 1, and I have it in excel that can be downloaded. But, here is a summary of the ages I was able to get from the posts so far:

Age / Number travelling in our group so far

0-4 / 2
5-9 / 25
10-13 / 29
14-17 / 19
18-22 / 19
22+ / 140

This is in reply to a very old posting that I just read, better late than never, but if any or all of the group does come to the Western Caribbean I promise a great day in Grand Cayman:banana:

:woohoo: I'll keep it in mind!

Paul, Firstly welcome.

Hotel, I searched a lot around many hotels but only one offered Family suites and I went for that, its the Hotel Crystal palace set in a very good location central just off La Rambla.

Cruise vs Parks, In my opinion they are completely two separate things.

Both are Disney so yes Disney service, like their deluxe resorts, and Disney Entertainment their shows, are in common great quality and the Characters.

But no rides, a strict schedule.

I have cruised many times before, DCL 's entertainment is better than most, its service is very very high, if there is something its average at, its the Food, its good and theres lots of it, but other Cruise lines are as good as if not better, however DCL's food is on par with the very best WDW restaurants

There is so much to do you will not be able to, 'not' enjoy it. Sea days the Navigators will show Lots of things going on, take a highlighter pen, maybe if more of you are going different colors, and as soon as you get the Navigator in the evening, highlight what you want to do or you will miss it.

I think on these port intensive Med cruises the sea days will be much needed rest days.

The shows are great, don't miss if they have speakers from Disney, such as Don Ducky Williams go he is great and can be missed if you are not looking at the Navigator.

My Kids the same ages as yours cannot be pulled out of the kids club or pools they love it and the flexibility of getting their own food etc.

Look for Med Navigators People will start posting them soon and look out for things.

The Crew talent show is often overlooked but is great, if you see it highlight it.

The fun will start automatically and you will not be able to not enjoy it, the best advice is to stay in control by planning in advance what you wish to do, I booked my private tours and made my plans well in advance to ensure I did not miss anything.

I will look out for Med Navigators and make plans from that, keep reading here as we can all share on these, and also go to the Dis meets Helen and others are organizing.

Thanks, Andrew & others, for all the tips. I've only been on one 3-day cruise 4 years ago, and my kids have never been on a Disney cruise, so I'm finding the tips to be invaluable.

I've been working my way backwards on these posts, but I am remiss.

Welcome back, Helen & Derek!! Hope you had a good time, but you've been missed!

winotracy said she would post her navigators, so we'll be able to see what is being offered.

Now I'm sorry I booked DCL return to the airport. I was thinking that it would be easier than a taxi since we're going that way to rent a car, but it looks like a taxi is the way to go.

Also added you to the excel list.

Andrew - if you would like, you can use the excel as a reference for updating your first page. Also, the special dinners and shows have been posted a few times - it would be great if you could add that info, too.

I've updated the cabin layout on powerpoint with the info I have so far.
http://www.maryjomellado.com/MedCabins.ppt

Also, here is the list in Excel of cruisers - we're up to 247 people, and I know that is not counting everyone.

Calendar in powerpoint if you'd find it useful

Thank you for all your very hard work, my staeroom is 8568 not on the list, Lets us know when the Navigators are up.

I have booked a DCL transfer at the end, but private transfer on arrival in Barcelona. From my expierence the port is very busy at the end with two or more ships in and all trying to get people off to airport quickly, It will be a Wed for us and therefore a working day and a rush hour, with excess luggage I thought DCL would be best.

Godd number of kids then that we know about, thanks for that, I have said it before but its a bit like visiting the parks and knowing the rides you want to get to first, When WINOITRACY posts the MED Navigators we all should read them through, I am usually organised but have missed things in the past myself and regreted it!

List is updated. I tried to make these so they would be easily printed.

I agree. The only time I've been on a DCL cruise, I didn't pay as much attention to the Navigator as I should have, so I missed some. However, I was with experts and they made sure I didn't miss too much, plus I was just there three days & everything was so new. I plan on really paying attention to the Navigators, and my rascals, errr, teens will be counting on me to plan out our days (they are so used to that that they actually at a loss what to do without all my planning :lmao: )

Andrew who have you booked the private transfer FROM the airport to the port with ? We're arriving the Sat 28th and I really want to make sure we get to the port ASAP. Having a transfer waiting for us at the airport would be a load of my mind as we won't have to start worrying about finding taxis
thanks

Ok as promised this is what my two boys have been doing today...they were WDW Monorail Imagineers !!!

Hi Isabel,

Just wanted to add/throw in here - we are also arriving on Saturday, July 28th at 9:15 am - it is probaby cheaper to grab a cab but we went with the DCL transfers from airport to port. HTH :)

For all the DVC members, did you check out the Animal Kingdom Villas promos that came out recently?

I was showing them to DH last night. Although it will be a few years before they are 100%, they look really cool. We belong to Saratoga Springs, but I've always said that when we finally take that first trip to DW, I want to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge over looking the Savanah. We were going to go this year, but then the cruise came up and we opted for that instead.

We have been DVC members since 1992 with 350 points at OKW.
We just recently added 150 points at the new AKV and are looking forward to staying there when the facilities are completed. (Not to mention that now with 500 points total = more cruises!)

Congratulations!:thumbsup2

We are also arriving on 7/27 and staying at the AC Barcelona.

I'm so glad things seem to be working out for this cruise. :woohoo:

Praying for good weather and calm seas as well.:goodvibes

Sandra

Looking forward to meeting you. We can't wait! :cool1: :cool1:

Yes I am going for the DCL transfer at the end to guarantee everthing.

Great! My son would love that.

Ok all - here's what's been happening.

2. Came home from dinner last night to find that our 'girls' had escaped their cell (backyard) :scared1: and were runnig loose. Luckily, some  happened to hear them in their yards and went out to investigate. Isis (our B&W) came into their yard because she'd seen their cat. Chloe - our white dog - is a follower and clumsy as heck so SHE ran into their trashcan and knocked it over. Well, they recognized them from DD and I walking them periodically and knew they were local so even though they look intimidating - she took a chance and tried to catch them. They both had their collars on but it took a while. Eventually they rounded them up and took them inside. They WONDERFUL people put their own dogs in the back (theirs are inside dogs too) and allowed my "brats" ( ) to stay inside. Once they were inside - they went directly to the dogs blankets and laid down. Chloe was the first to allow them to pet her and that was when they got a chance to read the tags. Because it was late - they didn't catch our address on the tag but did a reverse phone number lookup and caught our address that way. Amazingly - they'd been out for about a 1/2 hr. The  lady said that they were very skittish and scared and their hearts were really pounding but once inside they settled down - well the white one did - Isis - would just pace but would settle down long enough to be spoken and head patted only. Chloe would lie down and roll over to have her tummy scratched along with her neck. That Dog is a sucker for neck rubs. She's easily bought!;)

Anyway, since we got back late, I was scared to see this person standing inf front of DH's car wearing a black hoodie and 'casing' out the house but it turns out that my angel was just leaving an additional note telling us where to find the dogs. Bless her heart. Her house is on the corner of a MAJOR HEAVILY TRAVELED THOROUGHFARE! :scared1: We were extremely lucky that they weren't run over. I know exactly what happened/ Isis broke through our very old wooden gate and the rope holding it together busted. She took off and Chloe followed. Even though they are micro-chipped. These dogs rarely are turned back in. In fact, there has been a rash of husky-napping around here. So I consider myself extremely blessed that my girls are back home! THANK YOU GOD! AND MY GIRLS ANGEL!

Laura, as I was reading about your escaped huskies my heart was pounding! You are so lucky!
If my huskies ever got out, (my worst nightmare) :scared1:
They would just keep on running until they got tired and then would look around and go "Where am I?":confused3
I am so paranoid when we open the front door, I drive everybody crazy.
Your neighbor is such an angel.
So happy for your happy ending!:goodvibes

Tom

Just noticed you are also on the 2008 Repo, there are lots here on both.

Hi to everyone going on the Disney Magic 28th July, we have just booked yesterday and cant wait!!
Have just finished reading all your postings and its interesting to see how many holidays poeple go on!! espcially Andrew(do you ever have time for work)!! Fair play to you !!
We have never cruised with DCL before although we have stayed at Disney world Wilderness Lodges many times and are looking forward to the Disney cruise experience.
Question for Andrew
We have always had a fantastic time at Disney and find it difficult to see how this can be re created on a cruise ship, how does the quality of the entertainment and service compare to that of the parks and resorts?
If any one has any good tips( we have 2 chilren aged 11 and 8) or can recomend a good hotel in Barcelona as we fly out 2 days early it would be great to hear from you.

Paul.

:welcome:

I'm sure you will love the cruise but be warned it can be addictive!
