July 20th, 2011 – 10 Night Mediterranean "Mickey's European Explorers"

Hi all,

Sad to say, our family is jumping ship. After some careful consideration, we've cancelled. We've rebooked a trip on Adventures by Disney.

It will be sad not to meet all of you.

I'd be happy to maintain the website for you if people want to PM me any updates or transfer it to someone if that's a possibility. It's really easy to maintain.

Have the best cruise ever!

Keever and family

Bummer!!! So sorry we won't be meeting you!
You've put so much effort into the website!!!
Have a great time on your Adventures!

Sorry to hear that you are going, but I have read that the Adventures by Disney trips are truely amazing.

Hope someone can do the website, I am rubbish at that sort of thing, but don't mind keeping the FE list if you like - let me know.

Hope everyone is well, we still haven't booked our flights yet, been too busy booking out a skiing holiday in France over Christmas!!!

Kate

Thanks K8T. I relinquish the FE responsibilities to your care. The details are on the website; specific rooms etc will have to be added closer to the date of sailing. You may wish to do a shout-out to all who have signed up just to make sure they are all still aboard.

My colleague recently called me and shared that her family will be cruising the med in late August so I will live the experience vicariously through their travels. She's new to the DIS world so I'm prepping her about the FE and door decorations etc. (My husband says I'm scaring her!)

One day - the med. Less than 225 days 'til we enjoy Backstage Magic. Should be fun, too!

Hi

Have a great trip Keever!!

OK folks, I shall take on the FE. At the moment it is on the website, but as I don't know how to update it and not sure if anyone will take it on, I will eventually post the list on this thread.

Let me know if you wish to be included and I can update it as we go along.

By the way, you may notice a 'click to vote' link in my signature, I would be really grateful if anyone reading could click and do so.

My friend has a teenage daughter who is severely disabled and a we would love to win her this 'Perfect' Christmas. A supermarket chain in the UK are having a competition to give a street a makeover, with snow, presents, band etc.

We know it is a long shot to win, but if you don't try, you don't get! So if you could click the link and vote, that would be fantastic.

You could also post it to your FB page!!!

Have a great Christmas all, we are frantically getting ready for going away for Christmas, so can't even think about the cruise yet. Come the New Year, I will be planning it all!

Kate

Hello

Hi All

I'm new to the boards and new to Disney cruising...in fact I'm new to any type of cruising!

Our family (me, DW, DD and DS) will be joining you on your med cruise and we can't wait!

As I say, we're complete crusing novices so I'll probably be picking your brains at some point (many, many points) over the next few months. Please accept my apologies now if I ask anything completely stupid :rolleyes1

We've booked the cruise and the flights. We are arriving the day before departure and staying in Barcelona a couple of days after we get back. We haven't booked any hotels as yet so if anyone would like to recommend somewhere for a family of four (DS is 9months old, so he'll be sleeping in a cot) I'm all ears!

See you all soon! :cool1:

Ernie.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My family and I have spent the last couple of days reading all the messages on the main page, on our page and on the Mickey's European Explorers site. There's so much useful information and so much to take in!

We'd love to join in with the Fish Extenders if we may? Our family thinks it would be a fabulous thing to do - it's even encouraged DW to have a go with a needle and thread (not quite sure how our extender will turn out - at least it's not likely to be napped!:rotfl:) There's Me (Ernie), DW (Carolyn), DD (Zoe-9), DS (Charlie - will be 1 when we travel)

Many Thanks

Ernie.

Happy New Year!!!

Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous 2011.

Hope you had a great Christmas.

We managed to spend a full night in the car on the M40, stuck in snow a couple of days before the day itself - the sort of thing you read about in the papers - not fun with a six year old. Ironically we were going to Gatwick to fly to France for a ski holiday!!!!!

I am pleased to say we managed to get our flight - if a little delayed and had a great Christmas in Courcheval!

Welcome Ernierich, I have PM'd you and will be posting a FE list in due course.

Kate

A belated Happy New Year to everyone!

Oh, Kate, poor you! The weather was wretched for Christmas, wasn't it. This was the first year here with no other family, so it was a bit quiet for us.

Has anyone booked airfare yet? I've finished sorting out our Tenerife trip next month (thank goodness, i'm sick of this cold) and need to start looking at airfare to BCN.

We're under the 200 day count. Woo hoo!!

I could do with a week in Tenerife!!!!

Not booked our flights yet, keep checking the Monarch site, they are slightly down at the moment, because of an offer, but I am still holding out for a bit.

I don't think we will risk EJet, they seemed to have no scruples at Gatwick, when we were waiting for our flight - Just cancelled everything, saying ' EJet flight..... is cancelled, passengers are asked to leave the airport and rebook on line..'. No sorry, no help, nothing!!!. Not sure Monarch will be much better, but their flights all seemed to be going as near as normal, along with BA and Flybe. I think Ejet cancel to avoid paying out delay vouchers to passengers!

Are you going out the day before? The last couple of times we did this, stayed overnight and then on returning, came back the lunchtime we docked.

Prices currently around £430 for three of us. Silly thing is we have thousands of airmiles, but can't use them as no flights apply!!!

Kate

We're going to Gran Canaria in March, not too far from Tenerife :)

We booked flights with Brussels Airlines as soon as they opened. Got them for only 85 eur pp :cool1:

We'll arrve at Barcelona one day before and stay at Sitges for a week after getting back in Barcelona.

Has anyone seen any navigators for the 10 night Med (in 2010) yet? Asked for them on the DIS board but no reaction :(

I probably have the Navigators from our August trip which is same ports. I can scan them but it would be a lot of pages to upload etc. Is there anything specific you want? Or just what happened when!?

I will see if I can link to the website for that cruise which had a list of everything from Pirate Night to shows.

They may of course change it this year.

Kate

No need to scan that, don't want to imagine how long that would take :)

Am especially interested in the "Cruise at a glance" page to see per day what show and dinner they had.

Did they have a galley tour on the Med cruise last year? Would love to do that.

Finaly booked our flights to Barcelona: we'll arrive one day before the cruise, and leave on sunday, the day after we've sailed.
And also from us: Happy 2011 !!!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
We are booked with EasyJet as they are our only option from Newcastle, but they have stopped flying every day so we are having 2 nights in Barcelona before and 3 after, we have booked a beach hotel before and an apartment opposite the cathedral afterwards. I have been looking at port excursions againg today and Disney have added some great new ones including an Angels and Demons tour of Rome, one on segways, a beach trip in Tunisia and dolphin experiences in Malta. Hopefully they have ironed out all the glitches that people seemed to experience last year! Can't wait!

Thanks for the heads up about the excursions, I will have a look later. We want to do the Schooner trip in Malta, although if the Dolphins are in the sea I could be tempted, but I have a feeling it is a park sort of thing.

We haven't done excursions for ages, prefering to put things together ourselves, but I would be interested in knowing which beach they are going to in Tunisa. Mind you my dd will be happy staying on the ship and I think we are going to try and take it a bit easier this time too and make the most of the facilities on the ship, we always do too much rushing around!
