July 2025 Refurbs: Matterhorn Reopens July 24! - Tiki Room Reopens July 3. Incredicoaster Down on July 28.

Oh man. We are long time vets of WDW, making first (and probably only) trip to DLR early Aug. Hubby was crushed to find out about Matterhorn. Now Incredicoaster? If it’s only down for a week we may be able to ride but it seems like wishful thinking and unlikely. Also reading about permits for BTMR.

I get refurbs are part of it. They need to happen. But seems like an awful lot all at once. I wish they were better at publishing in advance. It’s way too late for us to modify our travel.

Appreciate the heads up here and any insider insight.
I do not expect Big Thunder to go down for refurb until the Matterhorn comes back.
I suspect Matterhorn will be back after Labor Day and then BT will do down in September.

Incredicoaster probably down a total of 10 days.

Hoping for this exact scenario so we don’t have to change our early August plans. I’d be surprised if they had Matterhorn, Big Thunder, and Incredicoaster down all at the same time!

Thanks! Any intel on the Storybook Canal boats? I’d love to experience those. Thx!

Matterhorn is not reopening anytime soon. More scrim has gone up over the past two weeks. I think assuming Labor Day is a good bet.

Yes I agree. I saw all the scrim and the new work being done. Matterhorn will reopen after Labor Day. I think this refurb will go a total of 4+ months.

I assume it will be down for 6+ months then next year...maybe close after small world comes back from being its holiday version

I don't think Big Thunder will be down for 6 months. Maybe 2-3. WDW is re-doing their track, along with other things. DL re-did the track about a decade ago. That is the biggest reason WDW is down for a year.

Agreed. DL did major refurbs on BT about the time galaxy edge was built. I expect BT to be down 2 to 4 months.

I hope so

Love the ride so would not want it down long but....you just never know with Disney sometimes its a few weeks...and other times its over 6 months like Small world and the Tinker bell area

I also really think we're paying the price for both HM and TBA being closed for half of last year. DL had to defer maintenance on other rides, which might be leading to some of these frequent and long refurbs.

Most definitely that is the case.

Thanks for the replies. Really bummed that 2 of the 4 major coasters will likely be down for our visit, especially as they are different ones than WDW. Looks like we will just time it poorly for Incredicoaster. We have been on Star Tours before at WDW so not as big of deal but hoping that potentially opens at end of July.

I'm worried that LLMP won't be as useful as you are taking a large amount of inventory out of this with 3 LL rides being down.

LLMP will still be useful. You just need to get the big ticket rides done ASAP. Indy, Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Tiana, Millienium Falcon, Guardians, Mickey's Railway.

FYI - The calendar posted for 8/1 and NONE of the closed attractions are reopening - Matterhorn, Star Tours, Storybook Land, Casey Jr., Incredicoaster, and Redwood Creek. DL typically reopens rides on Fridays.

Just to brace people, there's a good chance when the calendar posts on Monday that HM will go down on 8/4 for overlay install, so things could be pretty grim closure-wise that first full week of August.

Of course, just speculation. Hopefully things change in a positive direction.
