July 2025 Refurbs: Matterhorn Reopens July 24! - Tiki Room Reopens July 3. Incredicoaster Down on July 28.

You beat me too it! I was going to say Casey Jr. and Incredicoaster were added. Monday's are usually when things go down and Fridays when they come back from refurb! Thanks for all your hard work tracking this throughout the year.

I am personally most fascinated about whether Pixie Hollow actually opens at the end of the month. That has been a mystery for the past year!
I will believe Pixie Hollow opens when I see it!! Too long of a refurb!

Any updates on Matterhorn or Star Tours? We will be there August 1 and August 2, so now are looking at no Incredicoaster, Matterhorn, or Star Tours. Seems like a lot of ride closures for a single time period. Praying that HM stays open until the 4th

Matterhorn looks like after Labor Day. It will be close for HM...but it should be open on August 4th. Usually the HM closure conversion is a minimum of 10 to maximum of 15 or so days before HMH opens.

I would also add that Matterhorn usually closes once per year for 1-2 months as they are in the process of slowly rebuilding the entire thing. Last year, they couldn't close it because so much else was shut down like Tiana's and HM.

Yes, it is frustrating for so much to be down. Late-July into August have become the new "off season" when crowds are some of the lightest of the year. Crowds are still heavy, but Halloween and Christmas have become the most crowded time of year. DL is stuck in a tough bind because they still have to perform refurbs on rides.

This is one of the reasons I often travel around a holiday time like July 4th. Less things tend to be closed and more entertainment tends to be offered. Even if crowds are heavier (which isn't actually the case), there's more things for those crowds to be doing.

Dang. We start our park days on 8/2. I hope the Incredicoaster is back up by 8/4 which is the morning we picked to start at CA. We have park hoppers so hopefully it comes back before we leave on 8/6. I forward loaded DLR since I wanted to get as much Haunted Mansion time as possible since it likely goes down on 8/4.

What's your best guess on how long Incredicoaster will be down? I think last time it was down for 10 days or so, but I think I remember it was down for a month a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure.

I suspect 10 days 2 weeks. It was down for a month in 2023. Not sure what the current refurb is about.

Going around Halloween but I really wish DLR would publish the entire refurbishment schedule like TDR does lol
Yes, the way they post refurbs leaves much to be desired. They do tend to post about big ride longer term refurbs well in advance such as RSR being down in August.

I've missed It's a Small World twice now due to it, it was open for such a short time. I really hope I can see it finally, but I have a feeling it will be under Christmas changes. Alternatively I am going in December so hopefully I can see it then.

Are you going in October? Small World closes towards the end of the October for the Christmas overlay.

Well dang. We’re scheduled to go 8/6 to 8/9 and Incredicoaster is one of our top rides. Hopefully it isn’t down for long (ten days would have it re-opening mid trip, but we’d be out of luck if it goes a full two weeks). I’ll be keeping an eye on the calendar, and possibly changing dates a bit if needed!

The fact that there haven’t been any news articles about a long closure announced well ahead of time (like they recently did for RSR) gives me a tiny glimmer of hope it won’t be a huge lengthy refurbishment!

Probably doing the same thing as the WDW project (although WDW will gain the dynamite scene we’ve had for awhile).

Wow. This is major work. Plumbing is the waterfalls and water..pond.

That’s why I always cringe when I read posts ‘the magic is gone, Disney doesn’t care otherwise they would’ve built fifth theme park (at WDW) instead of replacing The Great Movie Ride.’

Maintaining old, legacy attraction costs lots of money. Disney’s long had a history of shuttering them when they aged out and weren’t as popular as they once were - the PeopleMover, America Sings, etc come to mind.

Of course popular attractions will live on… unless they’re Monsters Inc lol…

Oh man. We are long time vets of WDW, making first (and probably only) trip to DLR early Aug. Hubby was crushed to find out about Matterhorn. Now Incredicoaster? If it’s only down for a week we may be able to ride but it seems like wishful thinking and unlikely. Also reading about permits for BTMR.

I get refurbs are part of it. They need to happen. But seems like an awful lot all at once. I wish they were better at publishing in advance. It’s way too late for us to modify our travel.

Appreciate the heads up here and any insider insight.
