July 2012. Yes it was hot. Yes it was crowded. Yes it was FUN! ***COMPLETED***

WooHoo! It worked! I edited my post on Mo's PTR. Tried it last night, but I forgot the little _ symbol and just put the th....didn't work. It works perfectly if you follow D's orders :lmao:

So here we are at our last Disney day already  How did that go by so fast??? Well it might've had something to do with the fact that we only went for 5 nights ::yes::

Monday July 23, 2012

Even though we were leaving this day, we were still pretty excited because our flight didn't leave until 7:30pm so we had all day to play. I had an ADR at Kona scheduled for 9:45. YUM!

We got up at a decent hour and packed up our suitcases. I know we had until 11 to check out, but I wasn't really sure what we would be up to that day....so we wanted to get out earlier and leave our carry-ons with bell services. This worked out just fine and soon we were on our way to the MK. We hopped the monorail over to the TTC and walked over to the Poly from there. I showed Dani where we stayed in February (2nd Floor Tokelau) and walked through the beautiful Polynesian morning.

We were seated in the exact seat we had the other night (small cute little booth up against the far right side). And we both ordered the Lilikoi juice

FL2012113.jpg

Yum! I ordered my favorite Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes with a side of that wonderful Poly sausage

FL2012111.jpg

Pictures do not do this justice let me tell you. It is just so flavorful and yummilicious....I can't even imagine a Disney trip without it.

Dani had a hard decision to make. I had been talking those pancakes up the whole trip, but I also told her about the Tonga Toast and how that is a Kona classic. So she went for that with a side of bacon.

FL2012112.jpg

She loved it. Tonga Toast is just too sweet for me...plus, if I am going to get it, I will get it downstairs at Capt Cooks for half the price. But I'm glad she tried it.

We had a great breakfast then headed over to the Magic Kingdom around 10:45. We shopped in the shops and rode a few rides....we stood in line for Thunder Mountain for about 30 mins. Here's a crowd pick from that morning from the BTMRR line

FL2012114.jpg

and we were just getting halfway down the ramp to the loading area when they closed the ride! The people on the ramp were given a FP to use on any ride at MK for the rest of the day. There were ALOT of really pissed off people (mostly a girls tour group) behind us that were not included in this, but they have to draw the line somewhere I guess. Only two of their group got the passes.

Dani really wanted to ride BTMRR, and we had picked up Splash FPs before getting in line, so we used those

FL2012115.jpg

Then checked on BTMRR to see if they had re-opened it. They hadn't, so we walked over to FantasyLand to see if we could ride anything while we waited a bit more. But FL was packed tight! So we kept on walking and decided to use our FPs for Space instead. This was the FastPass line at Space...

FL2012116.jpg

Yes, the FastPass line was out the door. Not the regular line....the FastPass line! Oy! How could this be?? There was obviously something wrong with the FP distribution for Space that day. But it moved fairly quickly....we waited maybe 20 mins. Dani just loves Space, so we didn't mind waiting.

When we got out of SM...it was around 1 and we decided to call it a day. We grabbed a couple sweet teas as we were heading out of TomorrowLand at Cool Ship. And made our way to the monorail. I wanted to get something I had seen in one of the Contemporary shops the night before.

We bought my little guy a Duffy bear and the book that goes with him. I had wanted to bring something home for him, and this was just perfect. I bought the blanket in the background of this shot

DaniPP033.jpg

for us to share on the plane since we only had shorts on and we knew the AC would be cool. I just love this blanket and use it all the time at home.

We hopped the monorail back around to MK and walked over to the buses. We were sad to leave MK for the last time. We got back to POFQ and grabbed our carryon bags. We went inside to get a late lunch. We both had the muffaletta and chips. And we enjoyed them immensely. Then we just sat in the comfy lobby and waited for our ME bus.

As we were sitting there I had the horrible thought that I had gotten the wrong size Duffy bear. I had the 12in one, but all the cute interchangeable outfits were for the 17in one. So I asked the nice CM in the POFQ giftshop if I could exchange him for the bigger one. She said no problem and this is what Bradey ended up with.

FL2012096.jpg

Think he likes him??

FL2012097.jpg

Yep. He has a "share day" at school once a week and he has brought Duffy twice now. He can't wait to go next year and get an outfit for him. I figured we could get an outfit each time we go and that will make for a great souvie everytime.

So our ME bus came and we were off to the airport with no problems at all. We took off on time at 7:30 and landed in Manchester at 10:30pm. We made the mong and tiring 2 1/2 hour trip home in the pouring rain and fog! It was horrid. Dani slept...so it was really hard for me to keep awake. I almost stopped and made her drive for a bit so I could wake up a little....but we made it home around 2am.

That's all folks....thanks so much for coming along with me on my TR. Hope to start a Pre-Trip soon for my 2013 trip. Just need to nail down some dates and we are off!

I tried SO HARD to stay away from Duffy on the last trip.. Didn't happen. Duffy is her favorite toy. CANNOT SLEEP without him.. But we have the little one with a santa suit on..
Birthdays and Christmas's Mickey always gives the kids something so i think this Christmas Mickey will be bringing a full size Duffy! :)

Okay, I am going to make a DUH statement here and risk getting ridiculed ...but I JUST NOW NOTICED from your pictures that Duffy's face is a hidden Mickey!!! :faint: So cute! I love the idea about getting the bear and the book together. I have a new great-nephew that I may just have to keep that in mind for as a gift! :thumbsup2

That Kona breakfast looks so absolutely drool-worthy! :duck: OY~ now I will have to add Kona Cafe to my list of possiblilities for next trip! ::yes:: So many great places to consider... :scratchin

Just curious... Is this a Lane Talon sofa? When we were buying our new furniture last year - this was a definite contender... I tried to find the post in my ol' PTR - but I got sick of looking... It's somewhere between page 100 and 150 if you are bored... :rotfl2:

ANyways... Back to my TR comments...

WAAAAAAHHHHH - it's over??? Already??? What!!!!! Can't be!!!!!!!!!!! :scared: Now what am I going to do? :coffee:

Bradey is so cute with his Duffy bear! I can't remember what size V got - I think she got the smaller one that came with the Goofy outfit on?

I am thinking we may have to try a meal at Kona one of these times, everyone says how wonderful it is.

Ok - now you can text me when you start your new PTR. :thumbsup2

I THINK Mods and Deluxes come with the DDP when it is free. Are you getting the DDxP? If so, maybe you will have to upgrade for that. IDK...maybe someone else will be more of a help. :confused3

:rotfl2:I know...we are all so proud of our newest DIS lesson! And about the juice....I'm not sure because I have never been to Tusker, but it is what they also call POG juice (Passion fruit, Orange, Gauva). Yummy yum yum.

Yep....he has 4 hidden Mickeys.....his feet, his face, and one on his butt.

Oh Kona is the best for breakfast! I could eat there every morning and be happy. They have the two things we got, and a Samoan which is kinda like eggs benedict, but with a Polynesian twist. Yum!

Nope, that couch is from good ol Bob's Discount. Not sure if you all know Bob, I think he is a New England thing...but he has really really annoying commercials. It's the kind of place that I always get something becuase it looks nice and it is a great price, but I hate it a week after I get it. Just not very good quality. And this is that microfiber stuff that is impossible to clean! I want a leather set this year after taxes...but I would rather go to Disney, so that may get put on the back burner again.

Definitely should try to fit Kona in. So yummy and hardly ever too busy for a walkup....so its a good last minute choice. Everybody usually thinks O'Hana when they think Poly, but I like Kona much better!

Here, Here! And then add in the Food and Wine Festival... :faint:

I know! I don't know what I am going to do if we actually do go in Oct! Oy....I'm gonna be FAT after that trip :mickeybar:drinking1popcorn::

Hmmm...I don't do the dining plan, so I'm the wrong one to ask. It just works out better for us to get a room-only discount then pay for dining with giftcards we have collected throughout the year. Maybe some year I will try the dining plan, but for now I am clueless on it. :confused3

THIS is the story of my life now...Disney takes precedence over SO MANY other things I need in life! :mickeyjum :lmao:

Dani's ring from PaP is very pretty... it's timeless... It is a shame they don't have more Disney settings though ... :confused3

I love Napoleons - so yummy...:goodvibes that one looks extra good...

Nice World Showcase photos - Morocco always feels like you're far away somewhere else...well Morocco I suppose....:lmao:...

The photo of the two of you with Minnie is really cute...:) I'm sorry to hear that the overall experience was just eh ... that really should be one of the better Character Meals... Mickey is cute in his Chef's coat...

Your breakfast at Kona looks amazing... I haven't been there in ages ...I might just have to make a breakfast ressie there...::yes:: plus they have the good coffee...

Duffy Bear looks like he is gonna get quite a bit of love from your little guy....:cloud9:

I know, right? Doesnt make sense to me, but I guess Disney knows what they are doing because it is always popular in there.

It was the first Napoleon I have tried. It was very yummy....I might have to get another one next time.

I know...I'm not sure what the problem was. They weren't overly busy, but I just didn't feel the magic and the food was horrible.

Your breakfast at Kona looks amazing... I haven't been there in ages ...I might just have to make a breakfast ressie there...::yes:: plus they have the good coffee...

Yeah, I heard alot about their presspots...but I'm not a big coffee person. Hubby had some in Feb and loved it.

Duffy Bear looks like he is gonna get quite a bit of love from your little guy....:cloud9:

Oh yes. He has already asked me if I think Santa will bring an outfit for Duffy. I'm not sure on this...I really wanted it to be a thing we do when we go to Disney. If I just start buying outfits left and right, it won't be a special thing when we go.

Mickey sends special Birthday and Christmas gifts... just sayin...

I know...I know...I will probably break down and get him something. His birthday is in Nov, so maybe a Christmas outfit for Duffy to wear in pictures would be good. Then by Christmas, he will forget all about it :rotfl2: Yeah right.
