July 2012 Resort and ADR Lists Thread...Countdown to Disney!

I've been excited since we booked (LAST July), and didn't think I could possibly get any more excited, but my husband has suddenly become very interested and doing some research of his own this past week. Knowing that he's excited (he doesn't usually get excited for much) is making me practically giddy :rotfl:

We, too, booked last July (but that's because we were supposed to go in Feb). Then, shortly after booking, we found out that DHs deployment would extend into our Feb dates and decided to move the trip to July. That was painful. :crazy2: it was soooooo much farther away....but now it's almost here!!!!! I cannot wait!!!!:hyper:

Can't wait either! I don't want to wish the summer vacation away, but I can't wait for Disney! :cool1::cool1: last day of work for me. Have to finish entering grades, clean my room, and talk to my principal about next school year and them I am done! Yay!

Can we just wish up until Disney, and then make it go in slow motion once there??? ::yes::

Hey, I noticed you live in MD! Myself and my DDs are headed to MD at the end of the month (we'll be down 6/29-7/3)...my mom lives down there, so we are taking a pre-vacation vacation down there to visit her. :goodvibes

No problem. I want Disney to get here too. We can do super slow motion after that. That's fine! :goodvibes

Where does your mom live in Maryland?

Question of the day..

Does your family have a tradition at Disney (something you have to do, a place you have to go to first, etc.)?

We have to say hello to Disney World when we get there and good bye when we are leaving. We always go to the hotel first and walk around and hang out before heading to a park. We always end our stay with a character meal.

Before actually arriving, we have to stop at the Florida Welcome Center and get free orange juice. :)

While we are at the Magic Kingdom, DH and I throw a penny into Cinderella's fountain to make a wish, and we always take our picture there. It's where/how we got engaged, but it was tradition before then, it is just now all the more special. :goodvibes

Also, I think unofficially, eating dinner at O'Hana on our final full day has become the tradition.

Several actually....

Like the PP above, we stop at the welcome center and get OJ. That is the only place my DD1 will drink OJ at.

We always wave hello when we go under the WDW gate the first time and wave goodbye when you go past the sign that says you are leaving.

Always go through the MK gate before checking into our hotel or doing anything "disney". Which normally was not a issue, since we always stayed in the MK area, this time... it will be out of the way, since we are staying at AKL.

First night in the parks has to be at MK and on a extra magic hours night!

We have first day meal traditions, which we are breaking this year I do believe. The first night we always have Corn Dog nuggets from Caseys, Dole Whip Float from Aloha Isle and a Cinnamon Roll from Main Street Bakery while watching Spectro. This year, since Spectro is gone - we plan to eat at Jiko and maybe catch MSEP. Its not our fav.... we are boycotting it.

'Ohana breakfast is always our first breakfast - still will be.

We collect popcorn buckets.

Last night is always at MK. And we take the ferry across the Lagoon when we leave. We sit up top at the rail and wave goodbye to MK.

And my favorite of all... and it really wasn't meant to be a tradition, it just happened. I have to take a picture of a ostrich butt when we are on the Safari. For some reason, every time we have went past the ostriches, they have their butts towards us. We had 4 years in a row where I got that pic! :rotfl2:

We alway go to Magic Kingdom on the first day and ride Space Mountain as many times as we can until the lines start to form.

She lives in Reisterstown. :goodvibes

We do always have to have MK as our first park, and usually Dumbo is the first ride...but this year, the girls want to do The Great Goofini first (they rode Barnstormer on their first trip and they missed it terribly on their second trip). Then, we'll do Dumbo. :goodvibes

We are somewhat breaking tradition, in that we usually arrive at our hotel late at night (around 10:00 pm), so we just go to sleep for the next day. But, this year, we are taking the first flight down to Orlando and will arrive at 10:30 am!!!! I don't know what we are going to do with ourselves!!!! So much extra time on day 1!!!! :woohoo:

I have had my ADR's for awhile, but got busy reading trip reports and planning other things that I have neglected to add them here. It is funny that so many people on this thread, and so many ADR's, and no one appears to be at the same places at the same times as us!

Anyway, we will be at the BWV from 7/21-7/28, then offsite till 7/31
Sat 7/21 HDDR 7:30pm
Sun 7/22 Whispering Canyon Cafe 7:35pm
Mon 7/23 Le Cellier 11:30
Via Napoli 7:45pm
Tues 7/24 Tusker House 8:05
Weds 7/25 50's Prime Time 7:35pm
Thurs 7/26 Ohana 10:15am
Fri 7/27 H&V 8am
Mama Melrose 5pm (Fantasmic)
Saturday 7/28 Akershus 6:30pm

So now have to figure out which to do OOP vs. DDP, since we only get 7 TS and I have 11TS credits booked.

All of your information has been added to the list! :thumbsup2. We are almost there!

Question of the day....

What meal are you most looking forward to?

We are looking forward to Via Napoli as we have never eaten there before but have heard really good things and then for breakfast I am most looking forward to CRT. My daughter is finally old enough to experience the castle and understand everything so I hope that the castle is magical for her.

Question of the day....

What meal are you most looking forward to?

I think I'm most looking forward to 'Ohana and Kona Cafe for breakfast. It's really hard to pick! J is just excited that I let him choose the Deluxe Dining Plan. :rotfl:

Question of the day....

What meal are you most looking forward to?

I'm going to say Ohana because in all of our trips, we have never eaten there!! :scared1:

I am also looking forward to DH and my anniversary dinner alone at Artist Point. I literally drool looking at that menu, it looks soooo good!

The meal I am most looking forward to is Le Celliar as I have heard so many good things about it! I tried to get reservations last year was not able to. So this year I made sure I went in as soon as possible and made them.

Now my son on the other hand is most looking forward to Toyko as he LOVES sushi and Japan is his favorite country in Epcot...

Ok, hopefully the last change...on July 14th, I canceled Captain's Grille and added The Wave @ 7:35pm. :cool1:
