July 2012 Resort and ADR Lists Thread...Countdown to Disney!

Super News- WDW is right around the corner. Get you suitcases out..:rotfl:

I spent my day going through clothes and other random items around the house. I ended up with a "taking to Disney" bag.

We're having a yard sale Friday and Saturday and I've been fairly busy getting things ready for that (not a whole lot to sell, just a couple big things like a loveseat, chair, desk chair, TV, microwave, and then a bunch of clothes...you get the idea). Otherwise, I might have had our things packed! :rotfl:

Germany in Epcot, after I visit the "stand" outside and obtain a nice cool beverage!

Question of the day...

Does your family have a Disney tradition that you do before going to WDW?

We always watch YouTube videos of our favorite rides and everyone picks their five MOST do things that we can't miss. We also make a countdown Mickey head calendar starting with 30 days out. Since this is a surprise trip for the kids, I don't know what we will do this year. I like the planning together and getting the kids excited, but we wanted to try something special. So far, the secret has been kept. We will see if I can do it the whole time.

About a month out from our trip, our movie nights are converted into Disney movie nights where we watch Disney movies we've never seen and old classics. Last night, Cars 2 was On Demand, so we watched that one. Fantasia, Dumbo, Ratatouille, and Bambi are on the agenda too as we received those movies as gifts and haven't seen them in a long time.

Another tradition is ordering the newest edition of the Passporter guidebook. Not that I need a guidebook, but it is so nice to have everything at my fingertips, and it's fun to look at on the long drive down! :goodvibes

40 days!! We hit the 3's tomorrow!!!!!! :cool1:

Nope, not a single one. Now once we get there, we have several.

YES.. kinda of a funny one

We have to prepare our 1 dog well in advance( the other could care less). On our 3rd trip away about 5 years ago she connected suitcases with my leaving for a while and she was none to happy. She clung to me ...literally... when I went to leave:sad1:

Now I pull the suitcase out about 2-3 weeks before the trip and put it on the floor in my room. I very slowly start packing. She is anxious for a day or 2 at first but then gets used to it being there. About 3-4 days before leaving we put the suitcases by the door and leave them there. Again she is suspicious but then forgets all about them. The day before we leave I take the dogs out back while DH puts the suitcases in the car. I am extra cuddly with her that evening, and then when we are leaving we just say our normal goodbyes to the dogs so they don't think anything is different than any other day :lmao:

But then my sister comes to stay with them and spoils them so they forget about us completely:rolleyes:

Well, I was able to change our flights today and accomplish 3 things!!!
1) we saved $80
2) we added 7 more hours of "Disney time", now that we are the 1st flight into Orlando on our arrival day, and last flight out on our departure day
3) we now have a non-stop flight going home...(we were going to have to switch planes in Baltimore on our other flight)

I'm soooooooo excited!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

This made me smile! This trip will the longest I'll be away from my fur babies and I will probably take it harder than them. :lmao:

I'm going to be VERY nervous about leaving my fur babies behind. I have 3 cats - one has stomatitis and sometimes has problems because of it. I'm very aware and vigilant about her issues, but I'm worried that my MIL won't pay as much attention and I'll come home to a sick baby. We'll have to separate her from the other two (fine by her anyway) so we know she's eating and drinking.

I understand where you are coming from. :lmao: I have packed and unpacked at least 10 times with thing I thought we needed to take and then decided we don't need to take. :confused3

I wanna leave like right now! I'm getting so excited!!!!

I've been excited since we booked (LAST July), and didn't think I could possibly get any more excited, but my husband has suddenly become very interested and doing some research of his own this past week. Knowing that he's excited (he doesn't usually get excited for much) is making me practically giddy :rotfl:

I'm really sad my hubby and son won't be going with us. I'm sure I will totally enjoy this mommy daughter time though.
