July 2011 code watch?

Not so great for us, Im going to still hope for an AP discount because we are thinking of adding the DXDP to our ressie, and with this discount today, you would have to get tickets to apply any dining plan down the line....no go for us as we are AP holders ....Sooooo we`re back to square one !

I'm thinking they'll release an AP rate too? The current one goes through June 2, so you'd think they'd release an AP/FL Resident code for the summer like they normally do. I'm hoping so :thumbsup2

SRUAlmn-Hanging in there with ya !:goodvibes Hoping for the AP rate to be released soon as well !! :rolleyes1
I hope we don`t have to wait until after June 2nd....Yikes !! :scared1:

Still waiting for AP rates for July 30-Aug 1, only need 2 nights, then its bay lake for us, but i was able to take advantage of the code post on the disboards to get 30% off a deluxe room this morning for us. We had 2 rooms booked at POP for 5 of us. they said we could get one room at Beach club for only 124 more, and yes, she said all 5 of us were ok in it. I definitely took that deal. Now if an AP rate comes out, we will switch again or stay there if we can get it lower so maybe we can add the passholder dining to it!

Getting ready to call and cancel our July reservation :sad2: We went ahead and booked at POFQ with our free dining PIN with hopes that a room discount would come out for the summer (it's a much better deal for us than free dining.) Since the discount released is only for the Deluxes we're going to have to cancel. Our tax refund is smaller this year than usual, so Deluxe isn't an option this year :sad2: I'm so sad. Just wanted to post where I knew people would sympathize

So sorry to hear this, can you not stay off site somewhere? A friend of mine stayed at the hotels by Bahama Breeze and loved it, she's going back there next year and said she wouldn't pay on site rates again.

We are staying offsite :sad2: would much rather be on property, but at least we are going :cool1: so maybe you could look at off site prices

SRUALmn-Aww.. Im so sorry !....:sad2:
We are still hoping for a room discount...before the economy went south, the AP rates used to come out in May ...I know its hard to wait that long....but...Im still hoping that will happen...
Im sure you will hear about it as soon as it does, and it will surely include the mods as well....I agree about the "room only" discount being a better deal....we did the math with our FD pin and it didn`t work either...
Sendig you much pixie dust for whatever you decide. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

and we got our tickets through the disney yes program which saved a ton - maybe that could help

Sorry you're canceling. We're been to Disney twice and stayed off site and still had a great time. We even rented a house for a week for just $700, it was great. Maybe you could look into something like that.

Is there a room only discount available for Deluxe for July?

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes I knew you would all sympathize. ;) I'm not giving up hope that something might be released in May, but it's just so hard to make the call and cancel! I have looked offsite a little bit, but I just worry about transportation and the differences from the Disney transportation such as more irregular schedules and not dropping you as close at the parks. We will have our own car since we live in SC and drive, but I worry that having to get in our car, drive to the parks, and take trams won't make it feel like the Disney that we're used to. For some reason, those Disney busses just make us feel so much like we're on vacation! :rotfl: Probably bratty since the alternative is NOT going :rotfl: Oh, and what is the Disney Yes Program that you can get tickets through? Sounds interesting!

Have you thought of the Swan/Dolphin or renting DVC points? I don't know how this works with your budget.

Have you thought of the Swan/Dolphin or renting DVC points? I don't know how this works with your budget.

We started out looking at the Swan and Dolphin. The nightly rate was around $170 (teacher rate) and Disney's mods are around $190, but once you add in the taxes, resort fees, parking fees, etc... it ends up being more to be at the Swan and Dolphin. Yes, it's probably worth it for the location and slightly more upscale rooms, but it's out of our budget this year. We can only go if we can get a room discount at mods.

Renting DVC from someone is not something we've done before and makes me apprehensive because I don't know a lot about the process. Plus, I doubt we'd be able to do that for less than $150 per night (inclusive of taxes.) Right?

On another note...........I just called and canceled and spoke to the sweetest woman! She was so kind and understanding. She said they finalize booking at the end of March and to keep checking the website in about 2-3 weeks. She said she doesn't know anything for sure (she wanted to make that clear ;) ) But she just kept saying '2-3 weeks' and 'you never know, just keep checking.' So I'm not giving up hope :goodvibes

The YES program is an educational Youth program through Disney. Your child (and one adult) get to choose a class that you can take while you are at Disney. Through the program you can buy extremely discounted park tickets for the members of your party. I bought 7 tickets total (4 - 5 day park hoppers and 3 - 7 day park hoppers, all with water park and disney quest). The total for all 7 tickets with shipping was $1,378.96. There is a thread on the boards about it or you can check out Disney's site; The link to Disney is:

Hope this helps.

I hate to suggest this in July, but what about a value? The tour groups overtake them, but it's better than not going at all. We stayed at All Star Movies in July of 2006. It wasn't that bad - certainly better than off-property or not going at all.

We've stayed at POP 4 times in July and have never had any groups there! :thumbsup2

To the best of my knowledge, there are no tour groups at Pop. It seems that most of those large groups stay at All Stars. I wouldn't book any All Star for July, but I would most definitely pick Pop!
